Performers absolutely killed it, only small issue was venue. The balcony had very few spots with good views because of the VIP seating that was at the front.
Hobo Johnson puts on an incredible show that is perfect for a smaller venue like house of blues. I traveled a few hours to see them, would see them over and over again based on how great this concert was. I had been waiting for them to come close by ever since I saw them in tinydesk.
The show was so fun, Hobo was so original and he didn’t just play his songs like so many other artists, he did some slam poetry, he made jokes, he interacted with the crowd so much. He brought a guy on stage to play Wonderwall, I mean how much better could that get? Did I mention he played Vanessa Carlton’s 1000 miles??? Such an awe swim show. Hobo Johnson is truly an artist like no other!
Frank did not disappoint. Great show from begging to end. Loved him on YouTube and even better live.
What a performance! I’ve never been to a show with an artist that was so interactive with the audience. The whole line up was so collective, there was something for everyone.
Loved the interactions with the audience. Reminded me of Mac DeMarco where he interacts hilariously with the audience in between/during songs. My only complaint is they didn’t play their best and most infectious song imo (typical story). Are they already too big to play the song that popularized them in the first place?
One of the greatest concerts I have ever attended. He showed as much passion and heart performing as the audience did watching him.
Definitely one of the best shows I’ve seen in a while. I loved how they remixed their songs for the show and the audience’s participation in the songs. Only thing I’d say for all the acts is spend less time trying to get 2000 people to do the same sound/movement as it’s impossible. I would go see them again tomorrow if I could.
This was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Hobo Johnson put on an amazing show even though Frank had a sinus infection. They played songs from their first album as well as their new album, and they even did a couple covers. The venue was spacious and grandiose with lots of room for places to go between acts and several options for food and craft beer. Someone even got engaged in the middle of the show. It was great.
Took my little brother and had a blast! Drinks were great, music was great. Just a wonderful time we had together.

Mom Jeans. was amazing, but the other acts fell a little flat. It was weird that you couldn’t bring drinks on the floor, but the venue was beautiful. Also, some people next to us brought beers on to the floor and handed one to my boyfriend. Then, they wouldn’t take it back. So he just had to awkwardly hold it. Neither of us like breaking rules, so we felt really uncomfortable. We ended up leaving before the end of Hobo Johnson’s set after some girl like pushed herself between my boyfriend and I, even though his arm was attached to me, so that sucked. I’ve been to a lot of concerts, but I’ve never met so many rude people. Usually philly is great for shows, but I wasn’t a fan of the crowd this time...
Intimate and intense with a sense of humor. I wouldn't change a thing about how Hobo Johnson & The Lovemakers performed, but the sound was a little off. At times Frank's vocals were completely drowned out by the instruments and the trumpet also suffocated. Gave 5 stars because despite all of that I still loved every second of it... but I'd give it a 9/10 considering the sound.
BEST NUGHT EVER it was so much fun. the energy there was so good, and hobos voice is so pure.
We did not realize that he had a few people opening up for him. They were excellent and it was good to hear new artist. It was a very intimate venue and everybody in my party had an excellent time! Please have him back again! Sooner than later
Hobo and the Lovemakers put on my favorite kind of show. The musicians were clearly enjoying what they were doing. Hobo hit the stage sober and it was apparent. He had great energy and audience awareness. He totally engaged us, drawing us into his music. We shouted the words with him, and he smiled big and performed his heart out, and laughed with us! So much fun!!!!
I sat in section 207 as a VIP and was VERY close to the stage, however am so VERY disappointed in the position of the speakers. The sound was terribly muffled and if I didn’t know the words to the song I wouldn’t have known what was being sang. I’ve seen this performer at two other venues and love his sound... just wished I was aware of this placement BEFORE I chose those seats.
Great venue! Lived in the Atlanta area my whole life and had never been there. Concert venues typically have barn-like bathroom conditions and these we easily some of the cleanest bathrooms I have ever had available to me for a concert. Prices were reasonable and parking was available all around the venue.
I loved the atmosphere and the energy that concert brought. Also to be able to get tickets last minute was a great spontaneous way to spend a night that turned into something great.
Venue was perfect! Size and atmosphere were great. Staff was wonderful! Even the young lady at the Merch table that was afraid she was rambling. The opening acts were great! But of course my daughter was definitely there for Mom Jeans and Hobo Johnson, and she was not disappointed! She and her friend had a blast! Can’t wait to come back for another show!
