    Hiromi is amazing!

by ffilmar on 4/17/12B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Hiromi moves through music like many of us breathe. She is so effortless and confident you hang with her on every note and phrase. The ride is worth it - her sound and style is compelling. She continues to grow as an artist and performer all while keeping her charm and connection to her audience.

    Musical Proficiency Lacks Verbal Connect

Although Hiromi is obviously very talented, her overall performance as an entertainer could be improved with a more verbal connection with the audience.

I was really excited to see her play and it was awesome!! She is the only person who can play piano like that also we can see how much she loves to play piano and music, too. Next time, she should be in New York more than one night. She must be loved by New Yorker!

    Hiromi was incredible

by kyuuketsuki on 4/12/12B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Hiromi is known for her virtuosity, and she shows it off with ease. With her trio, she made new songs to compliment the new band, which works well with her style as well as theirs. She played marvelously throughout. The only complaint is that the percussion was at times louder than the piano, which should not have happened and Simon Philips should have controlled his volume a little better. However these instances were few and far between and did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the show.

I have long thought that Hiromi is the most technically talented jazz pianist ever to have lived, and seeing her live confirmed my impressions.
