great show but need more portajohns!

by cdmuse on 4/25/18Riverfront Park - North Charleston

the music was amazing...shovels and rope do a great job curating this festival. they need to put more resources into staffing the merch counter, expediting food options (i.e. have more trucks or pre-prepared foods to choose from - lines for food were 30-50 minutes), and more bathroom availability (lines for portajohns were >30 minutes at times). once they get those things figured out, it's a phenomenal festival!!!

    Great Lineup

by Schimel on 4/25/18Riverfront Park - North Charleston

I'll give it a 4 for the great lineup of artists and the beautiful setting on the river. Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend! However, for next year, recommend the following improvements to get to "5-Amazing": Toilets (2 rating) - not enough - maybe give the ladies a break with women only port-a-potties; Food Vendors (3 rating) - what was there was good but few options. Certainly plenty of booze options, but the lines for the food were excessive. How about setting up a food truck location just outside the venue? No issues with the parking - getting in and out was reasonable given the size of the crowd.

Everything about this festival was executed perfectly.

    Low key, cool festival

by MsMeagle on 4/25/18Riverfront Park - North Charleston

Great time! The line up was killer, and well-paced (1 hour sets). It felt very manageable and not overwhelming and dirty as other, bigger festivals sometimes do. Only complaint was that there was not enough food options (lines were pretty long), nor enough water fill stations. The VIP area didn't offer a whole lot of upside except a slight upgrade on viewing, and some potties that were not Port-O, but otherwise not a huge difference. It would have been great to have some food, even snacks, in that area. All in all, a great time. LOVED the lineup.

    Great lineup!

by Anonymous on 4/25/18Riverfront Park - North Charleston

Overall, this festival was fantastic both years. The lineups have been top notch. The location is wonderful. I just felt like it needed less people, more food options and lower food and drink prices. Also, more stocked bathrooms....that was kind of a nightmare. The crowd was laid back and relaxed and the weather was beautiful. We will be back next year!

Great bands, great venue, great experience

by oldirtdog on 4/25/18Riverfront Park - North Charleston

I would say this is one of my top, unforgettable music experiences. The lineup was stacked well with a good mix of new bands and headliners. They had two stages going, which was awesome because you never missed anything. When one band finished, the other was ready to go. It was non-stop music from the beginning to the end. Even the bands you didn't know were well worth your time to be there hearing them. I found quite a few new bands I'm now in love with! The people (attendees and staff) were all on their best behavior and I have no complaints about the venue. They did well with water, restrooms, and beverages. My only complaint was with the food and the fact that the lines were incredibly long. I am well aware of the fact that this is unavoidable with that many people and food cooked to order. I'm complaining but I definitely understand and wouldn't change it. Also, I was turned away the first day for my backpack being too large (which prompted a long walk back to the car) so that didn't help to start things off right, especially after seeing plenty of people with the same size or larger backpacks throughout the weekend. Again, I understand, but consistency is key. Those are literally the only things I can complain about except for the weather (first night was cold, especially in my shorts, which were a bad choice on my part) but that's nobody's fault. I can't go on enough about the choice of bands and the experience as a whole. Even the harbor got in on the fun, sending out some air horn blasts from a passing freighter during Isbell and Shovels & Rope... the bands just played along and waved back! So much fun... I'll be back next year, for sure...

    Fun

by BigBadBrucee on 4/25/18Riverfront Park - North Charleston

Too long of lines for food and the beer selection was very weak. Other than that....awesome.

by Patti572 on 4/25/18Riverfront Park - North Charleston

This was the second year that we have attended and they did not disappoint, great lineup of music, wonderful venue, the only drawback was the long lines for food, but we will be back next year, such a great time!

Nathaniel Rateliff & Night Sweats Rocked the House

by obeez on 4/28/17Riverfront Park - North Charleston

Really great time and very organized. Seemed like everything went off without a hitch. Can't imagine the amount of work that goes into these things. Very well done and would highly recommend this event next year. Great line-up, very good time.

The Shins were the perfect addition! Amazing Fest!

by StegosaurusJess on 4/27/17Riverfront Park - North Charleston

Loved Everything! The lineup, the grounds, the vendors, the layout. Such a great collaboration of music and community. Loved that the bands alternated, so you could see everything...it's rare you get to attend a festival with the line up like that. Perfect time of year for the weather and loved that it was on Earth Day! The only dislike was the craft beer tent selling only 'samples' and also the waste associated with that. Why not just have 5 or six craft beer selections and sell a full beer. Overall, it was absolutely fabulous and I have already recommended and will be attending again! Thanks for a amazing event!!!

    Awesome event

by AliciaVan on 4/26/17Riverfront Park - North Charleston

Loved everything about this festival! I didn't drink at all so I can't comment on the beverage selection. Bathroom situation wasn't stellar, but lineup was great, staff were helpful and cheerful. Food was surprisingly excellent! Never know what to expect at these sort of events but was very happy with options and the quality of the food purchased. Also liked that they allowed re-entry so I could change clothes as the evenings got cooler. Will attend again next year, 100%! Kudos to the production company!

From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect. The signage. The vendors. The bands. The grounds. It was beautiful and so obviously built with love. I never wanted to leave.
