About

In describing Henry Rollins, the tendency is to try to squeeze as many labels as possible into a single sentence. "Rollins is many things," says The Washington Post, "diatribist, confessor, provocateur, humorist, even motivational speaker...his is an enthusiastic and engaging chatter." Entertainment Weekly's list includes "Punk Rock icon. Spoken word poet. Actor. Author. DJ. Is there anything this guy can't do?" TV Guide has more concisely called him a "Renaissance Man" but if Henry Rollins could be reduced to a single word, that word would undoubtedly be "workaholic." When he's not traveling, Rollins prefers a to keep a relentless schedule full of work, with gigs as an actor, author, DJ, voice-over artist and TV show host to name a few of the roles that keep his schedule full. Rollins has toured the world as a spoken word artist, as frontman for both Rollins Band and Black Flag and as a solitary traveler with insatiable curiosity, favoring road-less-traveled locales in places such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Siberia, North Korea, South Sudan and Iran.

    Kinda Sad

by Candice on 10/18/23Duling Hall - Jackson

I paid for the VIP experience. The only interaction that you get is standing in a single-file line to wait for a quick photo. He doesn’t sign anything, and answers only ‘some’ questions that you can write on a card pre-show. But I’m not a talk show host trying to interview him. I’m just a fan trying to let him know the positive impact he’s had on my life. There was no way or moment to convey that. I ended up leaving at the start of the VIP post-show. It’s just a waste of time. Regardless, the man’s gotta make a living and I’ll continue to support him. I know that he cares about the experience he’s giving, so maybe he will make changes for the better.

    Henry Rollins- Great Fun

by JGun on 10/18/23Duling Hall - Jackson

We had a blast seeing Henry just talk about life and his observations of it. I have been a fan since his days as the frontman for Black Flag and truly enjoyed his insightful lyrics and the band's musical styling as the driving force of the Henry Rollins Band. I have viewed his some of his spoken word performances and observational speaking specials over the years and have found his performances to be relatable, entertaining, and truly funny. I still miss the Henry Rollins Show. He is still a very intense individual and he talked, in this performance, for over 2 hours. I'm not sure if he even took a breath. My friend, his wife, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching him expound on his life and what he has observed. Thanks Henry for being you!!! Catch a performance of His tour where you can, you will enjoy it.

Rollins put on a great show!

by HiltonFerg on 10/18/23Duling Hall - Jackson

I loved it. The venue was perfect. Mr. Rollins was entertaining and motivational. We drove 3.5 hours there, watched the show, drove 3.5 hours home. It was absolutely worth the effort. We are not important people, so I didn't buy VIP tickets. Despite this, we had fantastic seats and were close enough to feel an imaginary connection. Great show. He's one of my favorites.

    Excellent Stories

by Skip on 9/25/231932 Criterion Theatre - Bar Harbor

Henry put on an entertaining show. I have never seen his spoken word show and was very impressed with his energy and story telling. High energy guy with thoughtful insights. Henry got on stage promptly at 8PM ans never took a break. He talked for 2 hours and 15 minutes and never even took a sip of water. Amazing.

If you haven't seen Henry Rollins live yet . . . run, do not walk, but RUN to the nearest venue where he's performing! He's smart and funny and smart and observant and did I mention smart?! This show will make you think and laugh and maybe even consider quitting your job to follow him around the world like some kind of Rollinshead. Do yourself a favor and see this show!

    Fun evening!

by MC on 9/23/23Lexington Opera House - Lexington

Henry was intensely expressive and frequently hilarious. He spoke without notes or water breaks for a full 2 1/2 hours, in a widely ranging tone and expansive vocabulary. The stories focused on the human experience, including many darkly funny references to death. Not for the faint of heart, but I enjoyed it thoroughly.

I really don’t know how he was able to go for two and a half hours like he did! Angry Hank hasn’t slowed down a bit.

    Long-time fan

by maggiefi on 10/27/22Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

I've been seeing Henry in shows on the regular since the 80s when I was a teenager. In the past five years, I've met him twice after performances. Sadly, he doesn't seem to remember those whom he meets. As a psychotherapist, I find Henry fascinating: extroverted and engaging on stage, yet painfully awkward and introverted one-on-one. For a guy whose impacted my life, it's weird to have so little of a real-life connection with him. The show was great, as usual. However, for those of us who paid extra for the after-show meeting, it was disappointing. I wish he would allow it to be more spontaneous and not hand-pick the questions that we wrote on cards. It's like he can't just talk in an organic way; he HAS to perform. He has to tell stories of his life instead of just having a conversation. I was hoping for more this time around, but I guess that's just the shtick.

    FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Sue Nakamura on 10/17/22City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

I am a total stand-up connoisseur, and Mr. Rollins is at the top of the heap! I would qualify him as the next level George Carlin (who of course was one of our comedian geniuses!). Mr. Rollins is exceptionally intelligent and thoughtful, with the wonderful addition of a considerably evolved sense of humanity - and his delivery is flawless! I was thrilled to get to say a few words to him in the VIP picture part of the evening! Thank you, Mr. Rollins for giving us such an amazing evening!!!

    Incredible

by Britt on 10/16/22City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Henry does it again! I’ve been reading his books and columns and listening to his music since I was 14 and I’m 32 now. This was my second spoken word event seeing Henry and it blew my mind just like the first one I saw at the largo in LA. It was a little tight in the first ten rows so if you had to go to the bathroom or something you had to rub butts to get by haha. Otherwise the food was good and I was very impressed with how the event was run. Seemed to be no issues from sound to his set being right on time or anything like that. Security was great as well, parking was easy.
