Created by the Producers and Director of Riverdance, HEARTBEAT OF HOME is a music and dance spectacular featuring the dynamic, vibrant components of traditional Irish, Latin and Afro-Cuban music and dance. The world-class cast of forty includes a ten-piece band creating a new and electrifying sound written by award-winning, Golden-Globe-nominated composer Brian Byrne.
The show employs high-definition, cutting-edge projection technology and has an engaging narrative structure. Produced by Moya Doherty, devised and directed by John McColgan with narrative and lyrics by award-winning Irish writer Joseph O'Connor. Joseph comments: 'when we marry the sexiness of salsa to the thunder of Irish dance, the lyricism of tango to the yearning of Sean-nós, what a night of storytelling we shall have'.
The cast includes world-class Irish, Latin and Afro-Cuban dancers and with choreography by David Bolger, the production will create a dream-world of joyous, heart-stopping, high-energy music and dance.
I would watch this show again! It was amazing!! I have told everyone about this show.
Non stop top entertainment. The music, dancing and songs were great. The band was very good.
I loved this show!! The dancers were excellent!!!!
The show was wonderful. I would highly recommend it.
The show was wonderful. Very good dancers, very colorful costumes, nice verity of dancing. Very well performed. Singer was fantastic. The bad was great.
Absolutey amazing. Wanted it to never end.was hooked after Riverdance but this added more dimensions with the other cultures and opened up more varied cultural beats which made the program more interesting. I have heard criticism of the special effects scenery But I thought it was awesome and very well done. Brought in an entirely new visual that would not have been possible with just set changes. More dynamic in the long run. Just can't say enough about the exciting young talent. Such precision and strength and grace.
Absolutely stunning performance. Worth every penny.
This was a wonderful show. The dancers were extremely talented. Their dancing drew you into the story of leaving homes farway and making new lives but retaining the core of their heritage. The set was fabulous, the effects were unlike anything I have seen before. It spoke to me personally as my father was Irish and my mother is Spanish.
I have seen Rivedance and Lord of the Dance and I have to say Heartbeat of Home was a refreshing change. The dancing, singing and music kept us entertained the entire time. Very well done. Great costumes, very, very talented dancers. We loved every minute of the performance! A must see!
I was really surprised by this - I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I had enjoyed Riverdance, but the choreography and music were unforgettable. A must see. <3
I went with my husband, we enjoyed the show very much. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is that there were 2 slow songs that were not accompanied by dancing, those slowed down the show. But otherwise we totally recommend it.
The dancers and musicians are amazing in this show. If you like Irish/Celtic music, and enjoy watching talented dancers, it's a must see.
Very energetic and enjoyable show. interesting to hear how dancers were found via online auditions from around the world. Also a wonderful chance to see the power and grace of upcoming dancers.
great performance, music, songs. I had great time.
I went to see this is Chicago and it was amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect but I loved the music, singing and dancing!!
This show was Amazing! The Irish dancing (River Dance) was my favorite! High energy with a great mix of Latin infused with the traditional Irish dancing. The Irish lead dancers were spectacular!
This show is FANTASTIC, A MUST SEE! The dancing, music, musicians and choreography were sensational! Hard to believe that all different dance styles and musical rhythms could be blended together so perfectly! Well done to everyone in the cast for making this performance so extraordinary! Everyone gave it their all and did equally well! Thanks for a memorable experience and for your talent and musical acuity!
This show is not Riverdance by any means. The music, choreography, and set design is not at that level. Unfortunately, since the script follows Riverdance almost scene by scene, the differences become apparent quickly. However, the dancers and musicians were spectacular and made a great connection with the audience. There was a great personality about the troupe that transcended and flaws in the script. The "story" they told about themselves via their dancing and musicianship was more compelling than the rehash of the story of the Irish Immigration.
Second half was better than first half. I felt that the first half of the performance contained barely any Irish dancing and that was disappointing.
It was wonderful. If you enjoy Irish dancing and energy you need to see it.
