About

Heart formed in Seattle, Washington in 1973 and have rocked on through the years under the sibling core of Ann and Nancy Wilson. The group has released 16 studio albums, hitting the Top 10 seven times and topping the Billboard 200 with 1985’s Heart. The band have sold nearly 35 million albums worldwide. Early rock staples such as “Crazy on You,” "Barracuda” and “Magic Man” gave way to greater mainstream success in the ’80s with the group’s first Hot 100 chart-toppers, "These Dreams" in 1986 and "Alone” in 1987. Despite developing their own solo careers after their first hiatus in 1995, the Wilson sisters have reunited as Heart several times. In 2013, Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band have received four career Grammy nominations and received The Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.

  • Heart is still the heart of rock!!!!

by werewalrus on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed Hearts' performance. Their sets were played with energy and gave me the impression that jammin' at the DTE was their destiny. They played a few songs that I had never heard them perform which is a change up and goes to show that there isn't much Anne Wilson can't sing.My only mark on the evening is that the band didn't perform as long as normal, perhaps one half hour shorter than normal.

  • Ann Wilson is still amazing!

by dianpiepan on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

The Heart concert at DTE Energy Theatre was soooo great! They still sounded just as good as they always did. Ann Wilson has one of the most incredible voices and Nancy is an amazing guitarist. I would recommend seeing them to anyone. We had excellent seats at an excellent concert. Thank you Heart.

  • Heart = awesome

by Morf on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Heart sounds just as good as they did on "Dreamboat Annie" 30 years ago. Ann Wilson can belt it out, and Nancy can jam!!! We wished they could have played longer than 1 1/2 hours, but enjoyed every minute. Plus, opening act, Michael Grimm was great - what a cool voice!

  • Heart: Straight on..............

by WildRichard on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

Heart throbbed last night at DTE: Ann Wilson was powerful, energized, and seemingly timeless with her searing soprano soaring above the music much to the delight of the Boomer crowd who came once more to pay homage to this sisterhood of rock. Nancy impressed with masterful playing of both electric and acoustical guitar and also played mandolin nicely. Her voice seemed to falter on her lead songs, requiring Ann to fill in and support, but the enthusiactic and at times loving crowd didn't seem to mind, or even notice. The rest of the band provided the support to showcase Ann's amazing (esp. given her age) vocals and Nancy kinetic guitar playing. All I can say is I'm sorry I missed their show twenty years ago but very glad I saw them last night.

  • Heart can still Rock!!!

by Maine on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

The girls still have it. They put on the best show ever; I've seen them four times and this had to be the best. I loved the keyboard player; cute.

  • Absolutely Awesome!

by RockWoman on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

You know you are great when you music appeals to people of all ages even today! And Ann can still belt out all the power notes with perfect pitch and powerful emotion. Nancy's guitar skills are amazing. She plays with such passion!

  • Heart was Amazing!

by Lorib on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Heart was exceptional! They came out roaring with Baracuda. I saw them over 30 years ago (hard to believe) and they were as exceptional now as they were then! Every song rocked. My 9 year old daughter was with us and loved the show. The only issue was that is was very, very loud.

  • Heart was amazing!

by Fluffy on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Been a Heart fan for years...Ann Wilson and the members of Heart are completely amazing musicians. Wonderfully diverse musical offerings make them so enjoyable! Loved it, loved it, loved it!

  • Heart was Priceless

by Peaches on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

I had never seen Heart in concert, but love their music. I was a little concerned based on the age of the Wilson sisters. But both of their performances were well beyond my expectation. We had great seats (row H) and could see everything quite well, even with everyone standing through most of the performance. My only negative is a typical one. I love both of the Wilson sister's voices and the instuments were too loud to really enjoy them fully, especially the two part harmony.

  • Heart was great!

by Chuckles on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

The show was awsome! Ann and Nancy sound just as good as ever. It hard to believe they have been doing this for 30+ years. They did a good set with a few Zepplin covers.

  • Heart still has Heart !!!!

by Miwitty on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

Saw the show last night at DTE (formally known as the unforgettable "Pine Knob Music Theatre"). The weather was a little chilly from the rain earlier in the night, but not too cold for a Summer Concert with "Heart" head lining. The night started out with a decent opening act- unknown to me- but the guy still had good vocals. Then, "Heart" took the stage about 9 p.m.. Ann and Nancy were great- as usual. The lady on keyboards was very good as well- although the way she wore her hair in ponytails reminded me of Abby in NCIS. Nancy jammed on guitar, and Ann prooved without a doubt that she still has excellent Vocals even after all the years they have been performing. Ann even hit all the high notes. The band put on a Great show with many of the ol' favs and a good time was had by all, proving........Heart still has Heart !!!!!!

  • Heart was GREAT!!!!!!!!

by sushu on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Heart sounded just like they did 30 years ago!!!! ANN & Nancy still have it. Thanks soooo much for your return to Pine Knob we needed that in the Detroit area.

  • oh my gosh

by therealboomer56 on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

oh my gosh, it was like going back 35 years and reliving my youth. Ann has the most awesome voice. She can sing like no other. I couldn't believe what an awesome job they both did. It was the best concert I've been to in a long time. Wish they would have performed Dreamboat Annie though

  • Heart was amazing!

by Kissfrk77 on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome, awesome show. I had tickets last time they were here with Journey and they didn't play due to Ann being sick. This made up for missing them last time! The band is amazing, Nancy is incredible on the guitar and Ann's voice is just ridiculous. That woman sounds just as good now as she did 30 years ago.

  • HEART @ DTE

by GNABNA on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

HEART is AWESOME! I love them. What a GREAT show.... I only wish they played a bit longer, maybe 4 more songs. Seemed like it was a very short concert. Concerts usually go till the very end (approx. 11pm.) It ended around 10:30pm.

  • Heart 2009

by lolly on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 3 out of 5

Went to see Heart at DTE energy theater in Clarkston, Mi. June 30th. While Ann Wilson has always had a fabulous voice[and still does], we waited for the concert to begin until about 9:20 pm. It was slated to begin at 7:30pm! I left work early to get down there in time(about a two hour drive)...only to sit and wait...and wait.............and wait! The show started at about 8:10 , and alas was some guy out of Vegas playing his guitar! Then...surprise we had an intermission. A long intermission. When Heart finally appeared on stage, people went nuts! They played very well...however, they seem to have a pronounced fondness for other people's music (i.e. Zepplin and the Who). Not that other people's music is not cool...but we did not pay $55 bucks to hear somebody else's hits...we wanted Heart music. perhaps I am a little more negative about the experience because of the fiasco last fall, when Heart was slated to play with Journey and Cheap Trick. After waiting an hour for them to set up...they came out on stage long enough to announce that Ann Wilson was sick and could not sing. So they didn't play at all. That ticket cost each of the three of us $53 bucks. They never offered a refund or discounted tickets for the next show in the area or anything..So I was truly expecting big things this time around. As it turned out, they played only for about an hour and ten minutes. I've been a big fan of Heart for 35 years, but I don't plan to ever waste my money on another concert where they are featured. Don't get me wrong ...they are an extremely talented group, but the rest of the bull kind of ruined it for me. DTE was, as always, beautiful. All the staff was great and helpful and friendly. My advice to you all...wait for the new cd coning out in 2010. They said they have about five songs completed in the studio.Also... you couldn't even take pictures because Heart requested no cameras!

  • Heart still rocks.

by Redd on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

The weather was a bit cold but Heart was great. The ladies still put on a great show. DTE is a great place to see a concert.

  • HEART WAS AWESOME

TOTALLY AWESOME SHOW ,,, WISH IT WOULD HAVE LASTED LONGER ,,,, MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE LEAD GUITAR PLAYER THAT SEEMS TO STUMBLE OVER THE LICKS ,,,, SEEMS LIKE HEART COULD FIND ALOT BETTER GUITARIST TO ENHANCE THEIR MUSIC ,,,, KEEP ON ROCKING ANN AND NANCY ,,,, I WILL KEEP BUYING TICKETS

  • harmonies are sweet

by panamafresh on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

Such a thrill, a band of hearts......though I thought the show was a bit short......

  • Heart is aging pretty well

by Chris on 7/1/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 4 out of 5

As always - Heart was great. Superb playing & voices. Way too short of a concert though. I think - 1 hour & 20 minutes? Didn't play Dog & Butterfly - what's up with that. Ann Wilson - big girls can have nice clothes and look nice - ditch the icky icky black sweater and ugly white tennis shoes.
