About

Heart formed in Seattle, Washington in 1973 and have rocked on through the years under the sibling core of Ann and Nancy Wilson. The group has released 16 studio albums, hitting the Top 10 seven times and topping the Billboard 200 with 1985’s Heart. The band have sold nearly 35 million albums worldwide. Early rock staples such as “Crazy on You,” "Barracuda” and “Magic Man” gave way to greater mainstream success in the ’80s with the group’s first Hot 100 chart-toppers, "These Dreams" in 1986 and "Alone” in 1987. Despite developing their own solo careers after their first hiatus in 1995, the Wilson sisters have reunited as Heart several times. In 2013, Heart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band have received four career Grammy nominations and received The Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.

  • Horrible Venue

    by LB11 on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 2 out of 5

The band and act would have been great but the sound was not synchronized properly. The first two songs rocked but then the sound went out and sounded muffled the remainder of the evening. The right side of the stage could barely make out any vocals and the instruments sounded horrible. I blame the venue though and not Heart. Would havebeen a great show if we could actually hear it.

  • The Wilson Sisters Rock!

by LoneGranger on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

Ann & Nancy Wilson and their latest reincarnation of HEART rocked the Sandia Casino! The crowd was on it's feet and singing along to their favorites the whole show through. HEART did not disappoint with a wide selection of their hits and some Zeppelin and Who to boot! Ann was in incredible voice...all the power and all the notes she's always been able to hit with ease. Nancy played a mean guitar and mandolin thoughout the show and can still kick it out with the best of them! The band was tight and really sounded great. I saw them in the late 80's and thought they were even better this time around. Highlights included the Who's "Love reign o'er Me", Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song"(which you can find on Ann's new solo album) and "Going to California", "Crazy on You", Magic Man", "Mistral Wind", Keep Our Love Alive" and a new song called "Sand"that will be on their upcoming album. They dedicated it to Michael Jackson. Great group...Great show...Great venue!

  • Heart still has it!!

by Boone on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

WOW!!! Me and my girlfriend had the best time and the music brought back some awesome memories. What a show this group still can get it on!! Thanks for coming to Albuquerque and I hope you come back. Only flaw was the bass was way to loud and over powered some of the sets. Thanks, Boone

  • heart concert gave me the aches

by Chinagirl on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 3 out of 5

the concert was just so so...i was expecting more entertaining acts rather than just singing songs...to me any ordinary artists can do that. i went with my husband and 14 yr old son, the show got distracted by those who were drunk and behaving like lunatics.....our surrounding was fumed with alcohol... i think its fine to sell alcohol but there should be limited to certain amount per person.......this one guy was dancing and waving a bottle of bud sitting next to my son and almost dump the whole bottle of beer to my son.... I love the music from the 80's and will grab every chance to go to see them, but by far, sandia casino has the worst control and crew as far as patrolling audiences.!!

  • Heart was phenomenal !!!!!!!!

by lvheart on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was fantastic. The performance was even better. The only grip I would have is that the speakers on the south end went out for 2 and 1/2 songs and you could not really hear the performance, but it came back on at a great time for a guiter solo. I would return to see Heart perform again

  • Heart at Sandia Casino,Albuquerque, NM

by chelleinNM on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 4 out of 5

Heart still rocks! The vocals were strong and the instruments tight. It was an awesome show. I don't think they played long enough though and was sad they didn't do dog and butterfly.

  • still can do it

by jrjr on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 4 out of 5

I was fortunate to see Heart back in the late 70's and early 80's and really enjoyed their shows then. Both girls can still sing and the band is good also. The Sandia amphitheater was a perfect venue for them. We would go and see them again.

  • Great concert

by JenniferMills on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 4 out of 5

MY husband and I went to see Heart in concert - the first for both of us for them. It was great. Even though we were sitting off to the side of the stage it was a good event and the music was great.

  • Heart Rocks the Night

by RubyRider on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 4 out of 5

The setting was perfect. Sandia Casino outdoor theatre is fantastic for a show. Highly recommend it. Heart is as good today as they were way back in the day. Ann sent chills throughout my body with her voice. Nancy can wail the guitar!!!!

  • Heart Hurt

by Golfgirl on 7/8/09Sandia Casino Amphitheater - AlbuquerqueRating: 1 out of 5

Disappointing. Could have been outstanding, but there was something terribly wrong with the sound system. Actually made my ears hurt. We left early. If I could get my money back, I would.

  • Heart..

by Bytor on 7/8/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Went and saw Heart the other week. What a great show. The band was tight and the sound...fantastic. They just don't make bands like this anymore.

  • HEART is the Fountain of Youth!!

by Woodstockera on 7/6/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Janis Joplin was my favorite vocalist, until Ann Wilson came along. She combined that ballsy yet intimate feeling that I always felt from Janis. Life came along for me-- family, career, responsibilities, good stuff, bad stuff. I began to enjoy other kinds of music along the way, yeah, even opera. But when Ann came on stage and started singing, when Nancy was jumping and swirling and playing with so much energy, I felt alive in a way I hadn't felt in a long time. I felt like a kid again. A chill came over me and in a rush, the years fell away and I was that carefree girl with the waist length hair, singing along with the best rock vocalist alive. Thank you HEART, from the bottom of MY heart, for giving me an absolutely incredible evening.

  • Heart back with energy

by capnpapa on 7/6/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

Ann Wilson has gotten a lot of slack for gaining weight and not hitting her notes, and yes she has gained weight, but who cares. When Heart opened with Barracuda it was evident the her voice was perfect and at that point you stopped watching and started listening and what a reward it was. I told my wife "I have fallen in love with Heart all over again" Ann's voice was great to the last note!

  • Heart is the BEST!

by pklavon on 7/6/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

As usual, Heart put on a fantastic show! Even my husband - who wasn't much of a fan before the event - was really impressed with the performance. Ann Wilson still has that unbelievable voice and sister Nancy still rocks with the guitar (so talented!). My only criticism is that they played 3 cover songs (2 from Led Zeppelin and 1 from the Who). Sure, they do the cover better than the original band (!) but I came to hear Heart songs - not Led Zeppelin or the Who! Heart has too many fantastic songs to be playing covers. Can't wait to see them again.
