    Heads of state

by Tickey1 on 11/15/11Verizon Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

Bobby Brown was a hot mess! Because of him Heads of State should have been the lead show while Genuwine and Keith Sweat should have been the head liners. His voice was awful and he complained about everything on stage... "Im hot, Why I got to wear this suit, Why I got to sing this song... I got fed up and left the concert early. UGGGH!

This concert was wonderful!!! Ginuwine opened for Heads of State and he was AMAZING!!! His voice was impeccable and he still looks good! He even did a Heavy D tribute that had the whole crowd on their feet dancing. Keith Sweat did a great job and looks like he has been hitting the gym recently too! Bobby needs some voice coaching and needs to drop the extra pounds but he still carried his own. I saw him in Vegas 2 years ago after he came off of Celebrity Fit Club and his performance then was amazing. I think he still has it in him, he just needs to work on getting his voice and his body in shape. Ralph was good too but Johnny Gill was the best! And he played the guitar!! They announced that New Edition is planning a reunion tour next year and I can't wait! I will def be in the building!

    A concert I won't ever forget!!!!

by fn4lyf on 11/14/11Verizon Center - Grand Prairie

I attended the Heads of State concert in Dallas, TX on 11/12/11. Ginuwine and Keith Sweat were the opening act. I'm must admitt prior to watching them perform, I did not think Ginuwine or Keith Sweat were going to sound good live...WRONG!!!...All three acts were AWESOME. They were very entertaining and personable. I was very fortunate to of been able to watch the entire concert in front of the stage(had to kick my heels off from standing so long)!!! I felt like a little teenage groupie. Loved the tribute Ginuwine did for Heavy D. Bobby Brown spent a lot of his time at my end of the stage. He was so funny and was just having a great time with the crowd. Ralph came out into the audience and I was one of the lucky women to have Johnny hold my hand and sing to me. These men were awesome and made feel like they were worth every penny I spent and then some. Can't wait to see if NE will actually do a reunion. If so, my tickets will be bought the day they go on sale!!! This concert will definitley go down as one I will always remember!! Thank God for digital cameras and cell phones. I burned out both batteries, but have video and pics for the memories!!!

Heads of State is a Head of MESS!!!

by Diego1 on 11/14/11Verizon Theatre - Grand Prairie

I attended The Heads of State concert this weekend and I feel like I was robbed. The show started off great. Ginuwine came out and did his thing, Keith Sweat came out next and he was on point. Keith Sweat put on a very nice professional show that made the fans feel appreciated for spending their money. Okay now about this Heads of State crap. They came out on fire for the first 10 minutes and then they lost all choreography known to man. Ralph was just ok, Johnnie sound the best and was the best. He tried to keep the show going but that Bobby Brown was making all of them look like a MESS. Bobby did not know the words to his own songs, only knew half of the choreography, and he just look lost on stage. By the end of the performance Bobby was just walking around the stage talking to the band and looking at the floor like he had lost something. Yes he was doing this in the middle of the show while the other two guys where singing. The Heads of State performance was disrespectful to all the fans that paid money. If Bobby continues to act a fool on stage and not care to give the fans a quality show....Well he needs to go back to VH1 TV show and we can see that garbage for free. From one man to another.....Thank you Bobby for taking my money and making the first part of my date night SUCK just like your stage performance!

Let me begin by saying I love 90's music and I'm a HUGE NE fan! Love them to death. I must admit I was a little apprehensive about this concert because of the reviews of Bobby's performance lacking. Boy was I shocked!! Bobby performed his butt off! He sounded good and everything was on point. I love Johnny's voice as well, Ralph is my least favorite, however I enjoyed the show. And as always, the choreography was on point. The energy those guys generated was so amazing. I did not sit down not one time during their performance. A very entertaining show. Still waiting for a NE TOUR!! The opening acts were fantastic as well. The Rude Boys and Silk proved they still have talent after all these years and I hope to hear music from them in the very near future! They looked and sounded good. I really enjoyed myself and I'm still ranting and raving about Bobby's performance. This concert definitely showcased real talent, what is lacking in today's music!

    Heads of State was AWESOME!

    by NE4Life on 2/27/11Paramount Theater - Oakland

These guys still "Got it"! As a life long New Edition fan it's great to have the groups three best vocalists (no offense BBD) bring you back to those classic NE hits and then come strong with all of their outstanding post NE hits. What's truly great about these guys is that they continue to get EVERYONE outta their seats! The place was electric! I've seen either BBD, HOS or NE in concert over 20 times and they continue to give 110% for each performance. Sure, they're getting older (we all are), but they never phone it in. As for all of the praise for Mint Condition in the previous ratings...OK, they are good, but 2 things...(1) MC is not a headline act with enough chart topping material to make a whole show successful; and (2) the crowd was not as hyped up for MC as they were for HOS. That is just a fact.

Mint Condition should be the headliner...

    by KemKem on 2/22/11Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Bottom line. I am a new Edition fan, but if it wasn't for Bobby their show would be dead. Ralph has not hit outside of New Edition and Johnny Gill gets to excited half way through his songs.

    Heads of State Review

    by Anonymous on 2/22/11Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Let's start by saying, Heads of State, was mediocre. With a band like Mint Condition as your opener, that's a tough act to follow. If you don't have your act together, it can make for a long night. I think this should have been a Mint Condition concert with Heads of State opening. This is the only reason why the overall ratings for this show are so low. To the powers that be, take my suggestion and bring Mint Condition back to Oakland. I guarantee you will sell out the crowd. The only reason I found this concert was because I was searching for a Mint Condition concert...I didn't even know who Heads of State was. Heads of State would have been better had they just kept singing songs from their solo careers, but the New Edition songs they sung were not well rehearsed and they sound was not set up properly (kept hearing squelches from the microphones being too close to each other during Heads of State show. Ironically, this did not happen during the Mint Condition segment).

    Heads of state was great!!!!

    by nikno on 2/22/11Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Mint Condition boring Heads of State stole the show, the old men really performed, I love that they included getting older into the show, it shows us all that we are getting older, NOT OLD!! When Bobby gave his last rose to a little girl, that really made my heart go out to his as a man, father and a human being. They had the paramount theater on it feet the whole show. Great Job

    Great Show

    by BigBoog on 2/21/11Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Mint Condition put it down as always...those brotha's know how to perform and they always sound good. As for the Heads of state I was very impressed with their performance however the audio wasn't that good. When the band was playing it completely drowned out the audio from the vocals.
