Miku returns to the US, and it was worth the wait!

by RRViper on 10/22/14Hammerstein Ballroom - Missoula

When Miku does a concert in the US, it's big news. 3 years it's been since her last one in the United States, and the concert in NY did not disappoint. Miku brought out some favorites, including Senbonzakura, PoPipo, Romeo & Cinderella, Melt, and World is Mine, as well as some new ones, such as Sharing the World, Glass Wall, and Parades. Rin, Len, Luka, Meiko, and Kaito also came along to share their favorites, and some modifications (Luka's song Just Be Friends was translated into English) We had awesome crowds at all 4 concerts; light sticks pumping, cheering, singing, and all around having a great time. We even received the confetti stream shower this time, which didn't happen 3 years ago. My only complaint about the concert was during the band member introduction. Traditionally, Miku introduces each of the band members, then sends it out to the audience to introduce herself. This time each of the members of the band introduced themselves with a solo, but no Miku to cheer for. *sigh* Well there's always next time for that, and as proof I'll finish it off with the words from Crypton CEO Hiroyuki Itoh himself: “Did everyone have fun? I’ll be back next year, here in Los Angeles. Next year, we will make it even bigger!”.

    Hatsune Miku was AMAZING!

by Ryuichi13 on 10/22/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

I drove all the way from Cleveland, Ohio to come see Miku, and it was SO worth it! The waiting in line, the venue, I got a great seat in the balcony, so I saw everything! I thought that it was cool that they had a bar for those that wanted to drink, but I kind of wished that they also had pop and juice there as well. Maybe they did but I didn't see it. They could have had more than one place to buy items like t-shirts and whatnot, the lines for it was really long, and once you bought something, you had to push your way out. Maybe have a roped-off one way line for those wishing to buy and then another one for people after they bought something would have helped. My friend and I are both disabled, and we should not have had to fight our way out of that line. I brought my Asian Ball-Jointed Doll (BJD) Noriko, who cosplayed as Miku, and she got a LOT of positive responses as well. >:D

    Hatsune Miku!!

by Fanboy112 on 10/22/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

For my first concert event, it was a pretty awesome show! It started a bit later than expected but I had a fun time there. The music and atmosphere were great, although I wish they would have had bigger screens to view the Vocaloids on because there were a number of tall people that were blocking the stage view (even though it could not be helped). If she has another concert next year, I definitely want to attend again!

    Greatest experience of my life

by Mikudaisuki on 10/22/14Hammerstein Ballroom - NY

The concert itself was exceptional, Miku looked great, the band was tight and talented and the lighting perfectly complimented the show without taking away from anything. The crowd though was the heart of everything. Two hours of non stop chanting, jumping and glow stick waving. One of the greatest social experiences a concert audience will ever participate in.

    Hatsune Miku was great!

by NeonJuma on 10/22/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Enjoyed the concert very much. Was impressed by security and crowd control. Everything went smoothly and orderly. We didn't get to sit in the seats we purchased because they were needed for the personnel taping the show. We were given even better seats in the first row of the balcony along with some merchandise for our inconvenience, which was very nice. The show was awesome. The characters seemed to be alive on stage and you forgot that they were holograms. Hope there will be more shows in the U.S., preferrably at a venue we can reach without any problems. Nice job!!

    Pleasantly Surprised

by HCAjax on 10/21/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Went with my 14 yr daughter. Didn't really no what to expect. But this show was very good. The amount of detail and effort that went into this production was nothing short of amazing. Better than most concerts I've been to in the last 5 years. The band also needs a pat on the back because those goes can rock out anything that was throw at them.

Miku told the world and NYC!

by Emanueru on 10/21/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

I wasn't sure what to expect from a hologram concert. But everything that happened there both surprised and excited me! Definitely one of the best concerts I have ever had the pleasure of going to! I only hope that she can come to Florida next because it's very expensive traveling to other states DX

    Simply phenomenal

by monzly on 10/21/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Miku Expo 2014 was flawless. I loved every song and the atmosphere was great. I went alone and met a bunch of great people. It's a shame that L.A. got a bigger event with more things to do, but excluding that comparison, the concert in New York was amazing and I'm already awaiting Miku's next U.S. appearance.

by RMTP3 on 10/21/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

The show was an experience unlike anything else. Everyone was excited, people were cheering and waving glowsticks everywhere, and you could feel the excitement. The band was pumped, the Vocaloids were fun to watch, and I'm glad I blew money on this. It was totally worth it and I hope they come back next year.

so much more amazing than i ever could expect, the CEO of crypton showed up and took a bow. for sure going to the next one(s). needs more GUMI & Luka. it was worth flying up from florida, getting stuck in the airport overnight and all the other little BS that goes along with traveling.

so stinking amazing its not even funny

by personthatlikesMiku on 10/21/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

amazing. holographic technology was spot-on, I would not expect anything less from a Vocaloid concert event. both the live band and the technicians put in a lot of effort and it came out great in the end. fans were also involved- several fan-made original songs were included in the concert. Miku's voicebank seemed a little off with her voice sounding more squeaky than normal and Kaito sounded a little strange but then again, I don't listen to his songs as much. Len also sounded like his voice was a lot deeper and I'm wondering if his regular voicebank was used or if maybe Append was applied. either way the concert was still amazing. There was an amazing feeling of unity within the audience. I never dreamed that Miku's American fanbase would be so huge and I felt like I knew the audience like close friends as we all waved our glowsticks at the same time and pace. These are the only things I'd suggest: More Meiko. better organization with getting in and out. getting out of the concert was quite difficult as non-VIPs were told to use certain doors to exit...And 1 out of 2 of those doors were not open, complicating the exit. everyone was stuck in a room until the remaining door was opened, which took a while.

    Hatsune Miku ROCKED NYC!

by RikaAsho on 10/21/14Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

This was easily the best night of my life to date. The audience was very involved and she even spoke to the audience in English! To put the cherry on top of the cake, there was a song featured by a western producer. It was incredible! This was such a huge mile stone for Vocaloid in America and I'm so glad I got to be apart of it. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. <3
