Magical experience. The orchestra and choir are great!
I took my sister to the show for a pre birthday celebration and we had a wonderful time! The show itself was phenomenal, staff was impeccable, and location beautiful! I highly recommend.
I am not a big Harry Potter fan but my son and D-I-L are. I was in town for a visit so I wanted them to experience the movie/symphony concept and this did not disappoint. You often get so wrapped up in the movie that you forget the orchestra is there but they sounded wonderful and we throughly enjoyed the evening. This is a wonderful way to expose children to the symphony - and to teach theater etiquette as few folks walked out at the end of the movie instead of listening to the end of the concert which was distracting but the performance was excellent and a fun way to watch the movie.
Such an amazing performance and great energy. The choir in the background was an added bonus. See you at the next show!
I can't say enough about this presentation. We live a couple hours away and would make this trip again in a minute. Of course, I love the Harry Potter stories, so this was a perfect opportunity for our first experience hearing a total orchestra. It started with the conductor. The minute he began he got the whole audience involved in the show and they stayed involved throughout. The timing was impeccable! I smiled through the entire show. My only regret is... I missed the first one they did a while back, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I won't make that mistake again. Thanks so much to all who were involved in bringing this show to us. T.C.
As always the Symphony hit it out of the park! Adding the Choir/Opera was icing on the cake. Impeccable timing, a must see for all!
Was just so beautiful hearing the orchestra and everything sounded exactly like the score from film. The crowd was great and the band so talented. I’m glad we have this and I hope they continue to do the rest of the series.
It was absolutely fantastic. The music really made you feel like you were in the movie.
Great seats, great music and the movie clip selection were perfect. Two complaints: Multiple —at least 12 people were allowed to be seated thirty and forty minutes after the show started. So annoying for those of us who arrived on time! There has to be a policy against late seating if not please consider this for other paying patrons ! Second, concession stand lines always too long and too slow. They always run out of certain items like pretzels.
I have never been to a show like this before, so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. I thought it might the symphony sitting on a stage below a screen showing the film - which is exactly what it was! The music was incredible, but what I wasn't expecting was the absorption I felt while watching. I've seen this movie at least a dozen times, but this time was very different. The crowd made it much more immersive experience and the music was captivating. We will definitely look for another one to attend in the future!
Watching Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was a truly delightful experience. The orchestra was fantastic and the movie was only improved by the complement of live music. My granddaughter, who had seen the movie several times, was easily swept up in the event.
Really enjoyed the concert and movie and the addition of the singers was nice. Seamless with the movie!
I never really noticed just HOW MUCH background music there is in this movie until it was played in front of us. The orchestra and opera singers were phenomenal and I was truly moved every time they played. It was a wonderful experience and I'd love to do it again!
The show was excellent! The orchestra is so on point you almost forget it's live and not just part of the movie. I love how the crowd interacts (cheering/booing certain characters and events) and is encouraged to do so. And so many people in costume, too. The only drawback to this show was its originally scheduled date in November was moved to April. That was a really long delay. Hoping future scheduling is true to the original date announced. Looking forward to Goblet of Fire.
The concert was fantastic, but all the clapping was excessive every time a new character appeared for the first time. It made it difficult to hear and enjoy the music.
We seen the film before but not like this. The experience with the live full Symphony is the only way to go. You and watch, read the sub titles if you wish, watch the orchestra and the conductor. All the all a great Theater / Music evening.
The HSE seat are not comfortable. But the show was great. Loved it
I am a huge Harry Potter fan! This experience is one for the books! Watching the movie while John Williams music is being performed live is truly, well, magical!
Large screen, good audio, and I like that the subtitles were included. The orchestra was spot on with the timing and execution. Any Harry Potter fan would enjoy this.
I highly recommend seeing this performance! Having the movie on the big screen while the NC symphony (they are amazing!) and the opera singers provide the live music takes this show to another level. My son also thoroughly enjoyed it; this has increased his appreciation for the symphony.
