Billy Crudup becomes not just Harry Clarke but every character. His skill cannot be denied. For 80 minutes it felt as though I were in a whirlwind of different emotions and scenes. Thank you Mr. Crudup.
The play itself is not really profound and doesn't make you think too hard about life, but the performance is fabulous and it provides a very entertaining (not happy entertaining but just watching a great performance entertaining) 90 minute look at a person who is struggling with his identity and peculiar personality traits. It is the type of experience you can only get in NY and is well worth it.

Portraying a variety of characters in this one-man show, Billy Crudup is never less than astonishing in this clever and touching play. Ensemble pieces in which he has appeared have shown his power as an actor, but this ninety minute monologue is a career peak for Crudup. The play is engaging from the first scene to the last. This performance is very highly recommended to any lover of live theater.

An amazing one man presentation of a character's inner life as well as his fabrication of another personna. Also, the characters that he meets and manipulates and his descent into fraud and corruption.

I usually shy away from one person plays--just too hard! ...for the performer...for the writer...for the audience to sustain interest without some dialogue. This show broke my rule. I was glued, thoroughly amazed. Cale has written a crazy ride story and Crudup deftly plays MANY parts. (I mean, seriously--Billy Crudup all to ourselves for 90 minutes no intermission...dreamy.) The story is about a man who isn't quite sure who he wants to be so it's a perfect union of material and actor. Don't want to spoil it. Just GO SEE IT!!
Billy C’s performance was beyond words. His very deep and nuanced presence on stage was a once-in-a-lifetime event, and not to be missed. We met people coming out of our show who had seen it two weeks earlier and we’re still stunned and blown away. I can’t wait to see it again.

Masterful acting by Mr. Crudup in a play that will definitely keep you on your toes. Part funny, part provocative and certainly has shades of The Talented Mr. Rippley embedded throughout. Small theater that is accessible to all. If you are not familiar with the area make sure you get a handle on where the Minnetta Lane theater is as it can be a bit difficult to find. Enjoy!
Going to this play on a whim turned out to be a great decision. Billy Crudup was energetic and funny, when necessary, and serious and direct. He was able to construct the characters and create personas using just his words and imagination. Very nice job interpreting a well-written script, and exactly what a one-person show should be like.
I go to the theater very regularly - Billy Crudup's performance in this paced-paced, clever, and entertaining play is a special treat. Don't miss out!
