About

“If Steven Wright, Mos Def and Dave Chappelle had a baby, that would be disgusting, but it would sound like Hannibal Buress. The funniest young comic I’ve seen in years.” – Chris Rock

Chicago-bred New York-based stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress established himself as a master of “comedic jokes related to personal stories, current events, the streets, and even food” (yes, someone actually wrote and published that line) in ANIMAL FURNACE, his COMEDY CENTRAL original one-hour stand-up special that premiered May 20.

Hannibal Buress has appeared on LETTERMAN, FALLON, KIMMEL, FERGUSON, CONAN and numerous other late night TV shows. He has also made prime time appearances on LOUIE and 30 ROCK, and is the co-host of the Adult Swim series THE ERIC ANDRE SHOW.

Buress has previously worked on the writing staffs of 30 ROCK and SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, and released his debut album, MY NAME IS HANNIBAL, in 2010 on Stand Up! Records.

    All around goodtime

by Blorp on 9/24/18State Theatre - Minneapolis

Hannibal and the opening acts were great. The AV aspect worked really well too. When I saw the theater screen, I cringed a bit because I've seen this not work well at other performances. My only gripes were about the venue itself. I don't know if it was Hannibal's or the State Theater's rule, but the bit about having to put your phones in lock bags was a bit of a turn off. My wife and I had a bit of anxiety over it as she was coming from work and I needed to book a Lyft. She ended up coming home early to leave her phone her. In the end they didn't confiscate phones at the door like the tickets threatened. Minor gripe, but it was a waste of a trip home to "be on the safe side". Otherwise our seats near the front of the balcony were awesome and my first time at the State Theater was pretty alright.

    Best Show Ever

by DKrum on 9/24/18State Theatre - Minneapolis

Hannibal Buress was absolutely hilarious! I laughed from beginning to end, and had a really great time. And even the openers were very enjoyable! That isn't always the case. The venue was beautiful as well. I didn't understand why the phone policy was sooo strict but it wasn't a problem.

    Great show!

by Missketie on 9/24/18State Theatre - Minneapolis

The show was great! Hannibal was hilarious as always. I didn't care too much for the opening acts. They had their good jokes, but for the most part it didn't work me. The venue was great and clean. I didn't like that you had to line-up outside to get your stuff scanned and inspected by guards. I wish there was some way to do that indoors, because that would really suck in the winter. Other than that, the show and the venue were very good.

    Hannibal was fantastic!

by Anonymous on 9/24/18Orpheum Theater - Madison

The opener Erica Nicole Clark definitely kicked off the show with some fantastic jokes! Hannibal kept it going all night! They were a great team giving two different genres of comedy. Definitely kept everyone there happy! As for the venue, it was great! Line went extremely fast and they had plenty of seating - hard to see seat numbers in the dark, but we get it all figured out :)

It was ok. First 30 minutes was a DJ playing music. Opener, she was funny as heck. His was ok. Brought up when he got arrested and played on that for most the show. Not real funny to me for the price paid.

    Overall, a good night.

by sadlyletdown on 9/21/18The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

The show was announced less than a week before it happened and was apparently a fundraiser for something. The price range was kinda high for good seats, so we ended up in the far back on the top balcony. From up there it was weird; you couldn't really see the stage unless leaning forward. Then again maybe I'm just short (5'5"). I was expecting Hannibal to be headlining so to speak, but he was actually introducing others--thankfully he got to do some bits as well during the in between times. Eric Andre and Lil Rel were onstage, with the added bonus surprise of Dave Chappelle! That was fabulous as I'd always wanted to see him, and he wasn't even on the ticket due to coming onboard only two days prior to the show. The Chicago Theatre was beautiful, however we couldn't see anything on the screen. Not the best venue for anything technical as it's so old-fashioned (but beautiful).

    Nice dick tho

by Sophiaisanerd on 9/19/18Revention Music Center - Houston

In all honesty, when i bought the tickets i didn't expect too much at first. After all, i mostly wanted to see him for his work on the Eric Andre Show, but -spoiler alert- he's a lot more than that. The openers were great and when Hannibal finally started doing his routine i was laughing non-stop. The jokes were all good but there's something about the way he delivers them that adds another layer to his comedic genius. All in all, if you have the time and money to spare, please go check him out!

Great time for a Thursday night

by ReyScott on 9/17/18Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

Majestic Theater is an iconic theater in the city of Dallas. The lower level has great Acoustics and great visibility. The balcony is less so. Hannibal was good, but not at his usual great self. Overall I was satisfied with the experience
