About

“If Steven Wright, Mos Def and Dave Chappelle had a baby, that would be disgusting, but it would sound like Hannibal Buress. The funniest young comic I’ve seen in years.” – Chris Rock

Chicago-bred New York-based stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress established himself as a master of “comedic jokes related to personal stories, current events, the streets, and even food” (yes, someone actually wrote and published that line) in ANIMAL FURNACE, his COMEDY CENTRAL original one-hour stand-up special that premiered May 20.

Hannibal Buress has appeared on LETTERMAN, FALLON, KIMMEL, FERGUSON, CONAN and numerous other late night TV shows. He has also made prime time appearances on LOUIE and 30 ROCK, and is the co-host of the Adult Swim series THE ERIC ANDRE SHOW.

Buress has previously worked on the writing staffs of 30 ROCK and SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, and released his debut album, MY NAME IS HANNIBAL, in 2010 on Stand Up! Records.

Very funny show. Liked it much better than when at the Oddball Comedy Festival. We are big fans via satellite access prior to seeing him live. He didn't let us down! Great show!

It was a pretty good show. Had a local act open the show, he was pretty good. A lady rapper in the middle, she was ok, her set was a little too long. Hannibal was pretty told a lot of jokes, really went the distance. Show almost felt too long because of the previous performers.

Hannibal Buress is about to blow up!

by MSAG on 3/12/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Living in several metropolitan areas I have seen a fair amount of comedians and I can say without a doubt, this was a great show. Mr. Buress posseses a rare combination of sarcastic, observational humor with a subtle and true intelligence dealing with the harsh realities of many people's lives while his delivery is so naturally casual and inviting it's infectious. With a good solid first act, some hip hop hype and a talented dj this was a complete experience. In my opinion Mr. Buress is just beginning to gain popularity. Our seats were an excellent price because we were able to get them from the theater. It won't be long before you'll have to pay big ticket prices. However unlike Mr. Buress's take on YouTube, see him in person if you can!! It'll be worth every penny.

Great show, the opening comic was very funny and they mixed it up with some hip hop in between to set up for Hannibal who killed it the whole show.

Hannibal is the best. Put on an hour and a half long show that was high energy and hilarious the whole time. One of the best comedy shows I've been to.

    Hannibal is hilarious

    by welove2laugh on 3/11/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

We discovered Hannibal through Pandora Comedy radio and grabbed tickets as soon as they were out. He was incredibly funny, but also provided a great show. This was not your typical standup comedy. He included the use of a DJ and, spoiler, ballerinas set to rapping at the end of the show. Phenomenal show, would even see it again.

    absolutely hilarious

by VoiceofVice on 3/11/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I would say Hannibal Buress is hands down the best comedian I've seen in the past 5 years. He was consistently gut-busting hilarious throughout the entire set. My only complaint is that the drinks are ridiculously expensive at the Wilbur, I'd recommend drinking somewhere else.

    Hannibalarious

by BostonBroChiltimeAwesome on 3/11/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Hannibal put on an excellent show, even sprinkling in a few of his classic jokes. I thought he could have managed without, but he seemed to think that the audience would appreciate it. Both openers were fantastic as well. Great show.

    Just Good

by GregTom on 3/11/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Openers were terrible. Hannibal did a great job, but seemed to be rushing through some of his material. Overall it was a fun show with lots of laughs. If it wasn't for the opening acts I would have given it 4 stars.

    Hilarious

    by court0109 on 3/11/14Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Hannibal is hilarious! I'm glad that he is paving his way to becoming a well-known comedian. I can't wait to see him again! My one and only complaint, albeit small, was that I wasn't a huge fan of the hip-hop opener. I think she was awesome, don't get me wrong, but I just wan't in the mood to watch any hip-hop-and I didn't feel like getting out of my seat and dancing (as requested of us). Other than that it was awesome.

    Clever, smart humor, non-stop laughs

Hannibal is a really amazing comedian. His jokes are clever. He doesn't rely on dirty humor, and he kept my wife and me laughing the entire show.
