Hammer's House Party on Tour

Every fan of 1990s hip-hop and R&B gets to see and hear their dreams come true when Hammer's House Party happens. It would be impressive enough if it were just MC Hammer on his own, bringing era-defining hits like "U Can't Touch This" and "2 Legit 2 Quit" to the stage and partying like it's 1991. But Hammer knows that nobody parties alone, so he's got plenty of his peers along for the festivities.

That means you get the slinky soul of En Vogue, the fun-filled tag-team rap of Kid 'n' Play, and the sweet pop-meets-R&B vibe of Color Me Badd. Then there's the raucous flow of Mr. "Baby Got Back" himself, Sir Mix-a-Lot. If you were there for all of these artists the first time around, it'll feel like a triumphant return to the glory days. If you weren't, it'll be like entering a secret realm that only exists for a couple of hours at a time.

Hammer's House Party Background

Back in the early '90s, nobody dominated the pop and R&B worlds like MC Hammer. The man with the Hammer pants and the moves to match became a phenomenon when "U Can't Touch This" turned into one of the biggest blockbuster hits of 1990. Lots of trends have come and gone since then, but through the decades there have always been fans who want it to be "Hammer time" all the time.

In order to satisfy those hardy souls, Hammer's House Party came into being. To flesh things out further and really reproduce the full '90s hip-hop/R&B experience, Hammer's House Party brought aboard En Vogue, Sir Mix-a-Lot, Sisqo, Kid 'n' Play, Doug E Fresh, Color Me Badd, and Montell Jordan. Select shows have upped the ante by including 2 Live Crew, Coolio, and other artists whose '90s heyday still shines brightly in our collective mind's eye.

    Old shool mixed with chaos

by Hammer Pants on 10/22/19Treasure Island Resort & Casino - Welch

I just want to say Tone Loc, Kid n Play and Rob Base killed it. Felt like an old school hip hop party and then Hammer took the stage. I didn't pay to see his kids perform music i never heard of. It almost took over the show. Huge pauses between songs with no background music made it feel really choppy and totally killed the party vibe. Left the show really dissapointd after the good start!

    Let's Get It Started!!!

by hyrkules on 9/20/19Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

This night was so awesome!! MC Hammer, who I have seen twice before in my life (first time back in 1990?) was AMAZING!! He had the same level of energy he's always had, and he always has an amazing stage show with a ton of dancers. I absolutely loved it! En Vogue was on point! How do they sound AND still look so good?! I never got to see them before in the past, but I'm so glad I finally got to them this time. They are insane. We didn't get to see Kid N Play unfortunately, but we heard that they were great. Coolio was slightly weird... a little confusing. But overall the concert was fantastic!!!

    Slow party

by Chris on 9/19/19Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

The performers were great! The down time between performances was 30 min or so each. Too long.

Lots of room for improvement and no room to move!

by One time, at band camp... on 9/17/19Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

First of all, we bought ‘box seats’. Pretty accurate description. We were seated in an area large enough to fit 4 plastic folding chairs with room for your feet and that was it! I had to put up with a larger lady leaning her leg on mine and her rear end sharing my chair. I was very unhappy about that. So the show starts on time with Kid N Play as the opening act and performed for 20 minutes. Time for the next group; 1 hour later! They spent an hour rearranging the stages along with marking the stage with tape. So unorganized. I can’t believe I had to pay to watch this! I thoroughly enjoyed watching En Vogue perform. They were unable to perform all their songs because now the show is running behind! M.C.Hammer was Great! Great performances, interacted with the people in the front and even came down from the stage and performed while being surrounded by the crowd. Overall, I will never buy tickets to an event here. Again. Ever.

    Catch Hammer!! Well worth it!

by Carol on 9/17/19Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

This is probably one of the best shows of 2019! Where else can you see all of your favorites ( En Vogue, Kid N Play, Coolio, and of course MC Hammer). I love the 80-90's music and this brought together a little hip hop, rap and alot of soul with some Hammertime funk thrown into the mix. Definitely don't sleep on this show! Well worth seeing when it comes to your town. Hammer stole the show and is still dancing! Go Hammer, Go Hammer , Go!!

    2 Legit 2 Quit

by Bridget on 9/17/19Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

I enjoyed the flash back to the 90's. Kid N Play were nice. En Vogue still have beautiful voices, great stage presence and beautiful. They wanted to perform more but time constraints. Coolio...not sure if he was going through some stuff but just holleree and cussed. His musicians were awesome however. The sax player and the guy on drums were so amazing. Mc Hammer did good...still energetic. He had tons of dancers some whixh were kids and they kept up great. He mentioned they only had one rehearsal and you would not have known. One little white girl had me shocked at her performance. She commanded the stage and was so so good. Overall great show. Thanks to all the artist who entertained.

    Hammer Time!

by nappingQueen on 9/17/19Los Angeles County Fair - Pomona

I was very disappointed that Biz Markie, but having Kid-n-Play in his place made up for it. Coolio showing up late for his performance was forgivable; his performance was not. En Vogue was amazing. Their voices were celestial and so harmonic! Nothing has changed about them. And MC Hammer really brought it! Definitely a performance for all ages. He was very entertaining and loved his backup dancers.

    totally rad!:)

by Oldscool Blakus on 9/15/19Ilani Cowlitz Ballroom - Ridgefield

Hammer put on an awesome show and so did his opening acts! They still got it! Old school guys like Biz Markie, Kid n Play, Sisqo and many more got the party started right before Hammer came out with his dancers and killed it. The chairs were a bit tight at Ilani but we just moved around a bit once things started. The staff at Ilani were all friendly and helpful. The VIP tickets were cool. We got to meet Hammer and get some pictures with him. He seemed like a cool but humble brother. Thanks for coming to town Hammer!

by Frankenhooker on 9/5/19Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - St. Louis, MO - Maryland Heights

This was by far one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. My friends and I were amazed at how awesome & friendly these artists were. They are still great entertainers! The crowd was engaged, like nothing you ever seen. Everyone and I mean everyone was singing along and dancing. It was truly something to see. We hope they tour again

    Old School Turnt Up!

by Veenie on 8/27/19Entertainment & Sports Arena - Washington

Thoroughly enjoyed the lineup for DC. Each artist got lifted from the love of the crowd and put on great performances! Hammer brought the baddest dancers and rocked the house! Don’t expect him to do everything! Glad to see he was looking great. He was able to give us a little something while hyping the crowd with great music and dance. So glad I was able to celebrate the moment!

    No room

by Dare Devil on 8/26/19Entertainment & Sports Arena - Washington

Was a real good show. The venue was nice. THE ONLY THING THAT WAS WRONG WAS THE SEATING WAS WAY TO CLOSE, EVEN FOR A SMALL PERSON .

    Had a great time

by 80's baby on 8/26/19Entertainment & Sports Arena - Washington

All the performers were great. They came and put on a show. The ticket prices were fair. I set on the front row and it was worth every penny.

    Awesome Show

by Deigh on 8/26/19Entertainment & Sports Arena - Washington

Most important aspect was the show started on time. Joe Claire was a great host. Wanted more of Kid 'n Play, their set was too short while others before them was way too long. Hammer put on an entertaining show - non stop dancing. I was lost at the end with the shirtless dancer. Only drawback was the white couple that threw beer can from above on me and other patrons in sec 105 seat 12. They were promptly escorted out. Once again awesome show.

    Great show

by Nay on 8/26/19Entertainment & Sports Arena - Washington

The show was great. It started on time at 8 pm and the performers gave a solid 3.5 hours of entertainment ending at 11:30 pm. I love going to see ole' school concerts, they put their all in and give a show that you're going to talk about for years to come. I would definitely get tickets again if this lineup came back to DC. Good show, good people, and good vibes!

    Hammer Time

by WJ on 8/26/19Entertainment & Sports Arena - Washington

What a fun good time we had at Hammer's House Party. I enjoyed all of the performers Young MC, Tone Loc, DJ Kool, Kid n Play and Sir Mix-A-Lot. However, I came to see The Hammer and oh boy did he and his posse Turn That Mutha Out! It was Hammer Time once again. The energy. Getting the crowd hyped. The dancing and dancing and more dancing. Hammer hasn't missed a beat after more than 25 years. And the new songs She Said and Kurious are sho nuff fire. What a night!

    Great Show

by Steve Longsleeve on 8/26/19Entertainment & Sports Arena - Washington

Young MC is a fat boy with mad rap skills. Don’t sleep on him. Kid & Play are still a beast duo. Sir Mix A lot is a little fat nigga with good lyrics. DJ Kool is always great. MC Hammer looks like he’s 26 yrs old. Haven’t lost a step, believe that.

    Fun, fun, fun-ole school FUN!

by Chrissy on 8/25/19Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino Outdoor Venue - Niagara Falls

The crowd was great, vendors where super, security was really good and there was a lot of security! However, they where not over the top security, they let everyone enjoy, dance, drink and have a great time. The volume was perfect, you could see from every seat, we lucked out and had perfect weather! It brought back a lot of memories and everyone had big smiles. Thanks MC! Everyone here in Wisconsin is jealous. 🤣

    Had a good time.

    by C. J. on 8/22/19

Well, if you ask me, Hammer could have done a full show by himself. The others didn't put on "show" they just stood there and rapped. No dancers or nothing. There were long pauses in between each act and Hammer took like 30 minutes to come out. My back was burning from sitting so long on those hard chairs, but I refused to leave before I saw Hammer. Kid n Play did a move and then rapped...did another move...and rapped again. They were out of breath the whole time. Biz had CRAZY bass in his music! Too much! It was so much that dust fell off the ceilings and coated us. Sir Mix A Lot was ok. He didn't do much either but it was nice to hear his music. DJ Kool was just that...cool. He knows how to hype a crowd. Although I didn't really enjoy the other entertainers, I thoroughly had a great time because I don't get out much. When Hammer took the stage it was an amazing moment for me because he was my idol when I was a teenager. So when he grabbed my hand... it was all over for me.
