Hammer's House Party on Tour
Every fan of 1990s hip-hop and R&B gets to see and hear their dreams come true when Hammer's House Party happens. It would be impressive enough if it were just MC Hammer on his own, bringing era-defining hits like "U Can't Touch This" and "2 Legit 2 Quit" to the stage and partying like it's 1991. But Hammer knows that nobody parties alone, so he's got plenty of his peers along for the festivities.
That means you get the slinky soul of En Vogue, the fun-filled tag-team rap of Kid 'n' Play, and the sweet pop-meets-R&B vibe of Color Me Badd. Then there's the raucous flow of Mr. "Baby Got Back" himself, Sir Mix-a-Lot. If you were there for all of these artists the first time around, it'll feel like a triumphant return to the glory days. If you weren't, it'll be like entering a secret realm that only exists for a couple of hours at a time.
Hammer's House Party Background
Back in the early '90s, nobody dominated the pop and R&B worlds like MC Hammer. The man with the Hammer pants and the moves to match became a phenomenon when "U Can't Touch This" turned into one of the biggest blockbuster hits of 1990. Lots of trends have come and gone since then, but through the decades there have always been fans who want it to be "Hammer time" all the time.
In order to satisfy those hardy souls, Hammer's House Party came into being. To flesh things out further and really reproduce the full '90s hip-hop/R&B experience, Hammer's House Party brought aboard En Vogue, Sir Mix-a-Lot, Sisqo, Kid 'n' Play, Doug E Fresh, Color Me Badd, and Montell Jordan. Select shows have upped the ante by including 2 Live Crew, Coolio, and other artists whose '90s heyday still shines brightly in our collective mind's eye.
Third row center seats were most excellent to see MC Hammer, Sir Mix a Lot, Biz Markey and 2livecrew. We had a blast!
Dang how old is Hammer? Dude danced like he’s 25. Fun show all around. Sir Mix-a-Lot sounded great.
hammer house party, was a great show and we enjoyed our the show. The show throughout was fast paced and was eventful. We found the vocals hard to hear for 2 live crew and some of mchammer however sir mix a lot and biz markee were excellent. The stand out was sir mix a lot, his vocals and performance was 5 star.
I scored the $20 ticket deal for this concert & glad I didn't spend any more! 2 Live Crew was weak, Biz Markie was terrible, and I had a hard time understanding why MC Hammer had such lengthy breaks between songs! Sir Mix-a-Lot was actually the best act of the night... wish he would've had more stage time! These artists that bring the crowd on stage?? Umm...no thanks! I didn't pay to see them act a fool on stage! Venue was great! My first time seeing a concert at the Pearl.
We were so disappointed. Sir Mix-A-Lot was definitely the highlight of the night. We love Hammer but the show was just odd. Everyone on stage dancing together. It seemed like they were having a blast but just disappointed on the song choices and overall layout of the night.
Great show. Enjoyed ourselves and traffic was expedited well.
All of the performers were excellent. Our fav was probably Sir-Mix-A lot Mc Hammer was excellent as he was 57 years old and still had moves. We didn’t care for the choreography of his dancers though. It felt like it was thrown together the day before. Rest of it was awesome!
Everyone rocked...all artist killed it. The kids MC Hammer has dancing for him are fantastic.
