H.E.R. on Tour

H.E.R.'s smooth-as-butter voice and romantic R&B melodies have the power to leave you weak in the knees. She may have concealed her identity for the first few years of her career and still likes to hide behind thick sunglasses when performing, but it doesn't hold back her magnetism onstage.

Her first major performances came in 2017, at the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Awards and the BET Experience concerts. She then supported Bryson Tiller on his Set It Off tour, before heading out on her first headlining run with The Lights On tour. She followed that with her I Used to Know Her tour, as well as appearances at major festivals around the U.S. and Europe.

H.E.R. Background

When H.E.R. first released music in 2016, nobody knew it was child prodigy Gabriella Wilson behind the moniker. It took nearly two years and a handful of EPs for her to finally reveal her identity. She's said that the reason for keeping that secret so long was that she wanted her music to speak for itself — and it sure has.

But Wilson's story starts well before her days as H.E.R. Born in Vallejo, California, the budding singer was always surrounded by music at home and became especially fond of artists like Prince and Lauryn Hill. She learned to play numerous instruments, including piano and guitar, and by age 12 she was competing on Radio Disney's The Next BIG Thing.

Two years later, she signed to RCA and released the single "Something to Prove." It wasn't until late 2016 that she took on the name H.E.R., an acronym for "Having Everything Revealed." At just 19 years old, she released her debut EP, H.E.R. Vol. 1, an intimate set of silky R&B that came with public praise from big names like Usher, Alicia Keys, and Rihanna. It peaked at No. 28 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

H.E.R. Vol. 2 followed in 2017 and took her even higher on the chart. Later in 2017, she combined the two EPs for H.E.R., which also featured six new tracks, including "Best Part," her dreamy duet with Daniel Caesar. The album was a hit, both on the Billboard charts and at the 2019 Grammy Awards, where it was nominated for Album of the Year and won Best R&B Album.

    Lovely but

by Blessed on 6/28/22Red Hat Amphitheater - Raleigh

I enjoyed the show and the DJ before show was great that you would’ve thought it was his show but the only thing I disagree with was not showing up until about 9:45 and when she finished everyone didn’t no concert was over need to do a better job with closing the show.

    Too Short

    by E. J. on 6/28/22Red Hat Amphitheater - Raleigh

H.E.R. and the band gave a good performance. She was on stage for 1hour and 15minutes. I expected a longer performance for $175.

Venue should have been better. Not pleased.

by Neekie on 6/28/22Red Hat Amphitheater - Raleigh

Sound and performances were a little late but good. We purchased lawn seats. Lawn area was only nice in certain spots. Lots of rocks, large patches of no grass, not leveled. There was no jumbotron. Basically EVERYBODY in the Venue had to zoom in with their phones to be able to see the performances, including seated guests. Venue sold way too many lawn seats. Venue was standing room only, which is not safe. People were standing in all the isles and just EVERYWHERE and anywhere they could fit. I have purchased lawn seats at other venues and i felt safe and comfortable. I would not recommend Red Hat Theater unless you are purchasing seats near the front row.

    Best Concert Ever!

by JD on 6/28/22Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - Charlotte

The concert performance was more than I bargained for! I had no idea H.E.R. was THAT talented! From playing multiple instruments, crowd engagement, showmanship - she was EVERYTHING and then some! Loved mobile ticketing! It seemed to speed up that process. The biggest disappointment was wait time to get into the venue and actually park. I'm not certain if that can truly be resolved with large attendance. Additionally, I would have liked to have known specifically ahead of time what IS and IS NOT allowed in venue. Social media posts said only clear bags allowed, but then I learned upon arrival there were separate lines for people who had small bag vs people with NO bags at all who could get in a faster lane.

by Pooh on 6/27/22Red Hat Amphitheater - Raleigh

I dont know if H.E.R. "showed" out a little because her birthday was coming up in 3 days or just because she is a genuis at her craft but, I would travel from Maryland to North Carolina and beyond to see her performances again and again. Wishing H.E.R. much continued success.

    Update venue

by Sassy on 6/27/22Red Hat Amphitheater - Raleigh

Need large monitors to display entertainment on stage. I was in section B. The sound stage blocked my view of stage. In the section in front of stage people stood up. If they had large monitors aleast you could see what was happening on stage. The Ushers only pointed out your section without assting you to your seat. This was the worse concert experience and I will not be going back to Red Hat.

    Overbooked

by Cece on 6/27/22Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - Charlotte

The concert was awesome! The seating arrangments was terrible and overbooked on the lawn. We had to stand and security constantly arguing with the patrons about a space. It was unfair to not be able to sit on the lawn or stand up. There were no moniters to provide an alternative.

    Absolutely awful

by Lmford on 6/27/22Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre - Charlotte

This experience with Live Nation was terrible. My husband and I are fairly new to Charlotte so we weren’t familiar with the venue. The amphitheater was in the middle of a neighborhood…very odd location. I only saw 2 small parking lots to accommodate concert goers. There was only a 2 lane street leading to those parking lots so traffic was horrible. It was a storm earlier so that didn’t help but it had stopped raining by 7:30 which was when the concert was supposed to start. My husband parked over a 1/2 mile away in the surrounding neighborhood then we started walking towards the amphitheater but there was no signage as to the entryway. Others were walking as well, not knowing how to get to the entrance which was extremely frustrating. By the time we found parking and the entrance into the event it was close to 8:45. To our disappointment there were about 200 people in line waiting to get through security. It was total chaos. Not enough parking, security, and just totally unorganized. My husband and I were so annoyed at this point we just left. Live Nation was a total let down.

I had an amazing time! The pre-show was hype to get ready for the show! Marzz was a test opening choice! H.E.R. was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience that she gave her fans! I would go to another H.E.R. concert in a heartbeat!

    BEST. CONCERT. EVER!

by Kiara on 6/27/22Red Hat Amphitheater - Raleigh

Omg. I had the best time ever. The venue was nice. There was food drinks and decent portapotties. HER was beautiful and her voice was angelic. I wanted her to perform every single song cause I just love her that much! This was best 3 hours I’ve spent outside in a long time.
