I went with my mother for a mother daughter night! I love every bit of it and she enjoyed it as well. The tickets were a reasonable price and it wasn't crowded! We sat up top so we could see everything. We had a great view of stage and band! I think next year I'm going to take my 4 girls to see it.

    Wonderful production!

by lynnth on 12/12/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

The forum is quaint and easy to get to/park. The show was well presented and the quality of the stage props, etc were fantastic! I took my 5 year old, who is taking ballet and loves the story of The Nutcracker, and she loved it! We got seats on the 3rd row and in the middle of the row. She was able to see both the orchestra and the entire stage perfectly. The concessions are not overpriced and were perfect for little soon-to-be ballerinas! My daughter has "read" the program over and over again! She also loved getting autographs of the performers after the show. It was such a treat to be able to meet the performers after the show! I plan on making this a yearly family event. It was a wonderful way to get into the Christmas mood! Loved it!

    Nutcracker performance was mediocre

by Litlor on 12/12/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

Also there was so much talking going on behind me that it was hard to listen and enjoy, after repeatedly asking the minors to please stop talking.

by RWill on 12/12/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

This was the first time I've seen The Nutcracker and was definately pleased! I took my family and we all had a great time! There really are no bad seats in the performing arts building.

    The Nutcracker

by georgiabunny05 on 12/7/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

I took my husband to see The Nutcracker for one of his Christmas presents. He hadn't seen it since he was a child and this was my first ballet experience. It was amazing! All of the young dancers were wonderful. My favorite was the Sugar Plum Fairy, while his was the dance of the Arabian King/Queen, but all of the ballet seemed magical. We were both smiling like kids again the entire time.

    Wonderful!

by BPatMan on 12/4/11Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

I saw it last night and it was wonderful. I'm a guy, so I don't usually go to ballet, but I will definitely come back to see it again next year. (I might go back to see it again this year!) The dancers are beautiful and I was amazed at how difficult the stuff that they did was (although they all made it look easy). The magician during the first part was great -- he did some tricks that I can't figure out! I really liked this part where there were Russian dancers -- it was a lot of fun. There were a lot of surprises and I won't spoil them for you. All I can say is that it was a truly fun evening that even a guy like me enjoyed.

GBT Nutcracker was worth the $

by charlybab on 12/22/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

At about 1/3 the price of Atlanta Ballet tickets, this show is well-worth seeing! The costumes were great!

The performance was one of a kind!

by Mrshendu on 12/21/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

The location had a small town feel but the production and performance was beyond my expectation. The orchestra was impeccable. I was amazed at how well the scenes were presented across the stage. The most amazing and lively details were the beautiful performers from the little tiny ones to the older dancers. My mom loved it from beginning to end.

GBT Nutcracker made the holidays unforgettable!

by Bamalass on 12/21/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

The Gwinnett Ballet Theatre was amazing in their production of The Nutcracker! I took my family as the Christmas Event for this year, and we ranged in age from 8 to 57 and included children, mothers and fathers. The costumes and sets were beautiful, and the dancers were well-trained, very professional. We enjoyed every minute, especially the real magician. A bonus was the raffle during Intermission when a young girl won Princess for a Day and received a tiara, a tutu, and a nutcracker.

    Better than the professionals

by AtlMomTo2Girls on 12/21/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

I saw the Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker a couple of years ago, and I think the Gwinnett Ballet Theatre's performance is much better. The story of the Nutcracker is open to interpretation, and I found that GBT's is very good and easy to follow. They have a professional magician play Herr Drosselmeyer, and he is just fantastic. The dancing really coordinates well with the music, which was performed by a live orchestra. The dancers are wonderful.

    Gwinnett Ballet Nutcracker

by KATYKATY1 on 12/21/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

I took my grand daughter, aged 6 to see her first live performance of the Nutcracker. She was mesmerized. The dancers were wonderful and the children were so cute. I have seen the Atlanta Ballet's version and also the Alabama Ballet's version of the Nutcracker and I must say the only difference in this version was that the synchronicity (sp) was not as good. BUT, it cost me half as much as for us to go to the Atlanta Ballet. That is a MAJOR value in my book. Also the ballerinas were in the lobby to meet the audience and sign their programs and that was a great treat for my grand daughter. A big thumbs up form me. P.S. The orchestra was great.

    Nutcracker - Gwinnett Ballet

by kaias on 12/21/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

This was our second year in a row attending the Gwinnett Ballet's Nutcracker. We enjoyed the program very much. It was just as good as the previous year. The performers did an excellent job and the orchestra is fantastic. I used to go to the Atlanta Ballet as a child and although their is something magical about the Fox Theatre, this performance is just as good. One of the many benefits of this theatre is the intimate setting. It is a great cost benefit when compared to the Atlanta Ballet. So, why pay 2-3 times more for the same amount of enjoyment? We plan on going next year and years to come.

Not very entertaining. Unfortuately, what I would expect at a high school production. Also, we left at the intermission since it wasn't made clear that there was more to come. Perhaps the second half was better.

    The Nutcracker by Gwinett Ballet

by sharky378 on 12/13/10Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

Good show that captured the attention of young and old alike. There were a couple of falls and an error or two but the show was still great and had wonderful costumes and stage props. The magic tricks were wonderful and really excited my 8 year old granddaughter. I would recommend this show as being a great value and a wonderful experience that we will remember for quite some time.
