About

Gucci Mane in Concert

The year 2005 was like yin and yang for Atlanta bling rapper Gucci Mane. He enjoyed success entering the charts with his first national hit, "Icy," became involved in a quarrel with that song's collaborator, Young Jeezy, and found himself facing murder charges in the Georgia courts. Before his career as a rapper, Gucci Mane, whose birth name is Radric Davis, loved to write poetry when he was in elementary school. He moved to Atlanta from Birmingham, AL, with his single mother during the fourth grade. Since progressing to rap was a fairly easy step, Gucci Mane already had spent time in a recording studio by the age of 14. The glamour and sense of fashion of rappers like Big Daddy Kane motivated him to put words to music. His locally played debut single, "Black Tee," earned him a contract with Big Cat Records, and in May 2005 the label released his debut album, Trap House, which stood at the number one spot on Billboard's Heatseekers chart.

The beef with Young Jeezy originated from a fight over the rights to the album's "Icy" hit single, which spawned a number of dis tracks traded between the two. Within the same month of his LP's release, Gucci Mane was arrested for murder following an altercation in which he shot at a group of five men who burst into his friend's house, threatening to kill the rapper. As it turned out, the murdered attacker was an associate of Young Jeezy, but he has denied any involvement with the incident. Gucci Mane declared in court that it was self-defense, and by January 2006, Georgia prosecutors dropped all charges, citing lack of evidence. After being released from jail (on charges unrelated to the murder) that same month, he quickly went back into the studio to make his second album, Hard to Kill, which was released in October. He took the song "Go Head" from his first album and made it the lead single for the second in order to make up for the time taken away from promoting Trap House. The State vs. Radric Davis, his second official album, was released in December 2009 following a dizzying array of mixtapes.

by AshDenise on 10/26/16Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

The show started at 8 and he finally came out after 12. And he just left off the stage , didn't tell us bye or anything. Young Dolph was advertised, but I never saw him! SMH

I feel as though ONCE Gucci came out (Nearly 4 hours later), the event was perfect. After the opening acts didn't appear after 2 hours, my boyfriend and I became impatient. After 3 hours, it became inconvenient. FINALLY Gucci came out and gave a great performance. Parking was fine for us as well. Will we go to Echostage again? Probably, but definitely later since you don't miss much before 1 a.m.

Waited 3 hours for gucci mane to do a 1 hour preformance. By the sexond hour i was already annoyed and irritated from hearing all those no name acts. I'm pretty sure i was enjoying the already recorded well known hits than the actually "rappers". Than other people were trying to sit in other people's seats or add extra people to their rows.

    4 hour wait

by Chawtay on 10/26/16Bon Secours Wellness Arena - Greenville

Took Gucci 4 hours to come onstage. Everyone was bored with the no name opening acts. With the exception of Pastor Troy- he was great.

    GUWOP

by DiddyBopp on 10/25/16Echostage - Washington

Gucci Mane is an amazing performer! He was on time for his set and did every song! And he actually rapped the entire time and didn't just sing along to the track. Which lets me know he actually know the lyrics to his songs!

Doors opened at 9, took him over 4 hours to come out and he barely even performed, worst show I've ever seen

    Gucci was LATE

    by Bread1738 on 10/24/16Echostage - Washington

The concert started at 9. They had local artist come out at about 11:30. They crowd actually booed them. Gucci didn't actually hit the stage until about 12:15. It was live but he was on stage for like 30-40 minutes then it was over . I thought that was so petty because we were all literally on our feet for over an hour . Some people said they were there for 2 hours waiting for him. I paid $60 for a 30-40 minute show .

    Long Wait!!

by Sybrea on 10/24/16Echostage - Washington

The show was supposed to start at 9, he didn't have any openers come out til 12:00 and he didn't come out until 12:30. On top of that, he only performed for 40 minutes, after we stood for 3 hours and he walked off the stage without saying bye or thank you! I would not recommend.

It was decent but not great

    by Los071491 on 10/24/16Echostage - Washington

Parking was really expensive and it wasn't even a parking garage, then as far as Gucci performing it was average at best songs are good but he performs his songs over his own voice meaning he doesnt just have an instrumental playing he actually plays the whole song with his voice in it that performs over it, so to me it really isn't live it's just him rapping over his own voice... in all I gave this concert an average rating but i wouldn't buy tickets to this venue or Gucci mane again.

    Best concert ever

    by Marinaj1017 on 10/23/16Echostage - DC

This was THE BEST night of my life, and could not have asked for a better performance from Gucci. Doors opened at 9, he came out at 12:15..so we waited a little bit but not too bad. Gucci came out with high energy and preformed a solid hour, maybe even longer. He played about 15 different songs, and even asked his fans which songs we wanted to hear. We saw Uzi the night before which did not even compare to Gucci. He shouted out Shawty Lo too, he's the realest!! WOP

Gucci Mane and friends (??? No friends just him)

    by echotech72 on 9/26/16UIC Pavilion - Chicago

We have been fans since he first came out. Had very expensive front row seats however security didn't pay attention and let lots of people squeeze into the front row. We were barely able to move. Gucci came out 2 1/2 hours late and then put on a low energy show for about 45 minutes, he didn't bring any friends it was just him and his girlfriend Keisha. I thought maybe he would have a couple of stars come out and do a collaboration. The opening acts were all local artists I've never heard of. It was great to finally see him in concert but we were disappointed.

Was a little annoyed and disappointed

by Girlwholovesgucci on 9/26/16UIC Pavilion - Chicago

Gucci had a good performance, except we waited 3 1/2 hours listening to some garbage performancers before he finally came out only to give us a 30 mins show. He could've atleast given us an hour.

The worse concert I've ever been to

    by Shug1723 on 9/26/16UIC Pavilion - Chicago

Gucci & friends was a fake ass concert that cost real ass money!!! He had his "friends" up there and I'm use to concerts having an opening act that's an up & coming artist but he allowed these random no name rappers to occupy the stage for 2 plus hours and Gucci mane did not come out to preform until 10:35pm and the whole night the MCs were hyping us up making it seem like we were about to get an epic show worth $125 dollars a ticket ! He was on the stage for no more then 45 mins and I think that's longer then he actually was , i believe It was only 30 minutes , he only preformed one new song and half of 6 old ones , the Chance magnificent coloring book festival was cheaper for a 12 hour concert !!!!! I wasted $400 plus dollars on these Gucci mane tickets and he did not put on a show at all, he came out for a lunch break and waved at us and left !!! I was and still am coming livid about this concert and I will NEVER EVER spend my money on another one of his concerts , he definitely lost a fan and y'all need to promote these concerts a lot more detailed if you are going to take our hard earn money like that !!!

    unorganized mass performances of foolery
