Inspiring!! Incredibly entertaining!! Already purchased more tickets for family and friends as holiday gifts.
Groovaloo was an amazing experience. I took my wife who is a HUGE "So You Think You Can Dance" fan and she was on the edge of her seat the whole time. Our one disappointment is that we didn't bring our kids. Had we'd known that the show was approriate for all ages we would have brought our seven and four year old, they would have been dancing in the aisles. Great stories, great music, great moves.
I am 50 but my daughter wanted to go so I was hesitant but after I watched the show it was well worth it. I am not much into hip hop scene but this was done well with the true storyline. I actually would go see it again.
Start with inspiring real life stories and performers with amazing personality. Then there's world class jaw dropping hip hop and freestyle dance.....to see it is to believe it. We were literally screaming out loud at moments in complete awe. It's great that the men and women are given equal time to bust out and express themselves. The story twist at the end is unforgettable and completely true. I can't wait to go back this weekend.
This show was damn good! The dancing was off the hook -- I kept thinking, "how the heck did they do that?" And the story lines of the different dancers pursuing their dreams was a great compliment. Thanks Groovaloos!
Very entertaining show, highly skilled dancers. Would even go again.
This performance is fantastic. It is so well presented. The performers are very athletic. It is a virtual freestyle/gymnastic/hiphop/break dance show that is very well coreographed.
almost 2 hours of freestyle, break, and hip hop dancing!!! It was exciting throughout and 5 of us (age from 9 - 46) really enjoyed the energy... It even had a message/theme through dancing... I thought it was something different than normal broadway shows we watch during holiday and SO GLAD we picked Groovalo!
Non stop very talented action from start to finish. These young folks exuded energy that was felt throught the theater. Their stories and experiences need to be shared with as many audiences as possible, but especially the young who are struggling to find their way.
This was an absolutely amazing show. The stories told, the dance, I wish I could of went on stage and joined them. I took my two teenagers and I think they were amazed. It was really nice to talk to the dancers afterwards. I wanted to give Steven a big hug for his amazing recovery from his gun shot wound and hope that he continues to get better everyday!!!!!
I was moving in my seat the entire time. The dancers are so talented, could not believe some of the moves. Has to take a lot of strength, creativity, groove..... just loved the show! I went with my husband and two kids (14 yr old girl and 11 yr old boy). They both just started learning hip hop!
Run and see this show. It's a passionate look at LA's street culture, peopled with freestyle dancers of amazing abilities. My wife and I saw Groovaloo at the Joyce Theater earlier this year. We loved the show as much the second time as we did the first. It's a must see if you are interested in seeing freestyle dance at its best, coupled with dynamic spoken word poetry.
Sugoi in Japanese means... unbelievable. Fantastic none stop action from group of youg people expressing each personality. A show that every performer actually looks like they enjoy what they doing....
Went to see Groovaloo last night and it was a great show. The small venue made you feel like you were part of the action. The music was good and the dancing was amazing, and the integration of the storylines made the show flow very well. There were all ages and types of people in the audience, I will definitely recommend this event to others.
It wasn't a typical Union Square Theatre Event, I have seen better @ the union square theatre
Groovaloo was dynamite!!!! The dancers and the music were electrifying. I wanted to get on stage with them!!!!
I would first like to say that the performers were great. They danced well and the plot was pretty good. My only complaint was the "fan" in the audience. It was apparent that this person knew someone from the show who gave them tickets - it seemed like there was quite a few because the show did not start at 8pm, as though they were waiting for the theater to fill up. In any case, this person was constantly screaming appraisal and "wooooo" in parts that were not even that "woo-ful". Granted - there were parts that waranted that reaction but most of the time it was distracting and sadly it took away from the hard work that the performers put into it because it seemed like there was no confidence on their end. Bottom line - if you like hip-hop, b-boying and freestyle you will love this show.
Groovaloo was exciting, captivating, loved the dancing went perfect with the music. i would have to say i enjoyed it more then Burning the Floor...
