Grizzly Bear is so insanely talented. Amazing show. And Spoon’s energy was unreal.

About
GRIZZLY BEAR IN CONCERT:
With their ethereal four-part vocal harmonies, a strong indie rock base, and a healthy dose of psychedelic experimentation, Grizzly Bear have become the accessible arthouse torchbearers of millennials who rock. At their live shows, they effuse beautifully dissonant melodies anchored by sharp instrumentation, topping it all off with stunning visuals. As they contemplate a follow-up to 2013's Shields, Grizzly Bear will leave it all on stage for fans at select 2014 tour dates, which include several solo appearances by band member Daniel Rossen.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Originally a solo project for frontman Ed Droste in the early '00s, Brooklyn's Grizzly Bear slowly grew into a full band of proportionately talented performers. They started to make serious critical waves with their first release as a full-quartet, 2006's Yellow House, landing on the Top 10 year-end lists of several major media outlets. Their major break came, however, in 2008 when their tourmates Radiohead dubbed them their favorite band at the time — a huge endorsement by an even huger band. This public recommendation propelled their next album, 2008's Veckatimest, into the indie-rock stratosphere, making the band a household name among the dorm-room set. The band has since released another record and continues to tour relentlessly.

Grizzly Bear was impressive
by Smogster on 12/19/17The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5Only regret was that I didn’t have a seat to enjoy and watch. Amongst many standing fans with no clear view. I recommend seeing them and will again. Unique blend of talent and songwriting. I’m a musician and really appreciated them.
Grizzly Bear was amazing!
by lowdown3000 on 12/18/17The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5This was the 3rd time I have seen Grizzly Bear and clearly, they have gotten better and evolved through the years. The Wiltern was the perfect venue for them and the sound was great.
Grizzly Bear encore!
by Rosebud47 on 12/17/17The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5This was my first time seeing them live. They were definitely what I was hoping for. The sound was incredible, their voices were perfect and the light show was cool. The wait time was a little much for me. The show said 7pm but it was actually just the doors opening at that time. It was my first time at the wiltern. We sat in our seats around 7:30pm and the opening act didn't come on until 8ish. Then Grizzly Bear around 8:50 and ended around 10:30pm I think. For some season, it felt like a short show. I wanted more but they performed a lot of great hits from different albums. Overall, I would see them again and say go see them if you ever get the chance. Great show!
Grizzly Bear Live is MUST SEE
by Sectiononeohthree on 11/21/17The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 5 out of 5These guys do it right when it comes to live shows. You’ll gain a while new level of appreciation for their talent after the show!

Best concert of all time. If you haven't seen them live, you haven't lived.
Great show!
by Bostontowngirl on 11/4/17House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5The sound and stage were great. Their music just gets better and better.
Grizzly Bear was AWESOME
by meepers29 on 8/17/17State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Fantastic show all-around, with a killer setlist, cute between-song banter, and super cool lighting on a simple backdrop that contributed to an awesomely mystical atmosphere. I would jump at the chance to see them again in a theatre this size; just perfect.
Grizzly Bear @ Taft Theatre was truly an inspiring
by Stevenmutt on 8/5/13Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5perfect sound, perfect setlist, perfect venue, top notch!
Outstanding Grizzly Bear!
by nowrunner on 8/5/13Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5The Grizzly Bear show on 8/2/13 in Cincinnati was one of the top ten shows I've seen EVER. The band members are super musicians- the bass player might be the best I've ever heard, and is somehow even better live. The songwriting is innovative and memorable, and the singing (all four guys, but especially Ed, Dan, and the bass player) is just great to hear live. The drummer is outstanding. The show was a real treat, an emotionally fulfilling and draining experience.
Grizzly Bear = Outstanding New Music
by CSW51 on 8/5/13Taft Theatre - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5Simon and Garfunkel + Beach Boys + Do Wop + Brooklyn Hipters = Grizzly Bear. Close vocal harmony by four amazing voices. Esoteric lyrics, sophisticated arrangement and production. Lights and fog. Transcendent. Now if the youngsters in the audience would just sit down, shut up and listen. ;)
Dreamed the long day just wandering free...
by giganticseacow on 6/28/13The Fillmore Miami Beach - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5Grizzly Bear is, by far, one of the bands I have ever seen live. Their Miami debut was incredible, opening with "Speak in Rounds" and playing a lot of great songs from their newest album, Shields. Ed and Dan sang beautifully, with great instrumentation by Chris and Chris. Really enjoyed the lighting in this show. The opening act was also incredible, Majical Cloudz! I had heard of them before and their new album, Impersonator sounds great. But Devon's vocals live are absolutely incredible, creating such an atmospheric experience when he performed live. Overall, awesome experience and I can't wait until they come back!
Grizzly Bear was better live
by Brad1995 on 6/23/13The Ritz Ybor - TampaRating: 5 out of 5Honestly, the event was really really fun only because I love the band. My group and I were able to get to the front of the crowd and maintain our position. Luckily the Ed Droste and Chris Taylor were right in the foreground of our view. We were thrilled by the performance. At times the lighting was a little abrasive because they used intense strobes. There was technicolor lighting that was really cool. The band also played mostly shields but a LOT of old hits which was awesome. The venue itself was a little stinky, the linoleum was coming off the floor and sticking to our shoes. But, you really can't complain because the ritz provides adequate service.
Long wait; however, great performance.
by Anonnnn on 6/22/13The Ritz Ybor - TampaRating: 4 out of 5Usually, the band that's opening for the main event excites one and gets one pumped up; however, Majical Cloudz was extremely repetitive and awkward. The performers looked nervous which made me feel nervous. I'm sure they'll become much more comfortable as they perform more. By the time Grizzly Bear opened, I was exhausted, but it was an amazing performance with a beautiful light show.
- by LoveChunks on 6/22/13The Ritz Ybor - TampaRating: 5 out of 5
There was a mutual admiration, attraction and chemistry between band and audience at The Ritz Ybor. The Grizzly Bear set list, stage design and light show kept us stoked the entire show.
Grizzly Bear sounds the same live!!! :)
by Aldowaldo on 4/24/13Tricky Falls Theater - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5One of the best concerts I've ever gone to. People in El Paso really enjoyed having Grizzly Bear play here. I really hope they come back. One of the most creative bands out there (musically).
Great show!
by Iamsam86 on 4/13/13Tricky Falls Theater - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5Grizzly Bear put on such a great show, even better than I expected. I've seen them and The Shins at Tricky Falls in the last couple months now and even though I'm more familiar with The Shins music, I'd have to say the Grizzly Bear show was superior. Owen Pallet, the opening act, was actually really good too.
Grizzly Bear and Owen Pallett... incredible!!!
by GrizzlyBeargroupie on 4/13/13Tricky Falls Theater - El PasoRating: 4 out of 5I was really impressed by both the opening band as well as Grizzly Bear. When Owen Pallett came onstage, I had no idea who he was; I had never heard his songs before. But once he started playing, he was incredible! I loved how he used the violin in a completely different way, with the loop pedal and a badass drummer, as well as an awesome guitarist. Then when Grizzly Bear came on with all their energy and Dos Equis beer, it was unbelievable! They have incredible talent, especially with their backing vocals. They talked to the crowd a lot and tried to get us really involved.. it felt so personal. It was super awesome being right at the front, because you got to see them up close (I was also able to get the setlist!). They seemed so down-to-earth and like simple people who just wanted to be able to share their sensational music.
