About

GRIZZLY BEAR IN CONCERT:

With their ethereal four-part vocal harmonies, a strong indie rock base, and a healthy dose of psychedelic experimentation, Grizzly Bear have become the accessible arthouse torchbearers of millennials who rock. At their live shows, they effuse beautifully dissonant melodies anchored by sharp instrumentation, topping it all off with stunning visuals. As they contemplate a follow-up to 2013's Shields, Grizzly Bear will leave it all on stage for fans at select 2014 tour dates, which include several solo appearances by band member Daniel Rossen.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Originally a solo project for frontman Ed Droste in the early '00s, Brooklyn's Grizzly Bear slowly grew into a full band of proportionately talented performers. They started to make serious critical waves with their first release as a full-quartet, 2006's Yellow House, landing on the Top 10 year-end lists of several major media outlets. Their major break came, however, in 2008 when their tourmates Radiohead dubbed them their favorite band at the time — a huge endorsement by an even huger band. This public recommendation propelled their next album, 2008's Veckatimest, into the indie-rock stratosphere, making the band a household name among the dorm-room set. The band has since released another record and continues to tour relentlessly.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

  • Flew in from MTL!

My boyfriend and I flew to Chicago from Montreal to see Grizzly Bear, as they are one of our favourite bands. It was hands down one of the top 5 shows I've ever seen. The band was incredible, the venue (Salt Shed) was great, it was an amazing show and night!

Transcendental seeing them perform 2 nights in Chicago at the Salt Shed. We traveled far to see them, and shared the experience with so many great people who are their fans. They gave us unique set lists each night and still sound as tight as ever. The venue was perfect. The sound was great, and the tickets were very affordable. So happy to see Ed reunited with the guys after 8 long years. The world is a better place with these wonderful people playing music together again. We left Chicago in a state of bliss. They appreciate and love their fans, and we love them too. Die hard fans as long as we live! Thanks to the guys and the crew who made this tour a dream come true for us again. Hopefully more to come!

  • Great show

Grizzly Bear did a great job at the Salt Shed Saturday nite. They were playing all my faves and were chatting with the crowd- which I enjoy. We had seats up in the side of the venue which were great for watching but the bass was super heavy up there. It overwhelmed some of their songs. It was my first time in these seats so not sure if it was the location or the programming. Overall - had a blast

  • awesome show

Grizzly Bear is truly an inspiring band. I absolutely loved the show. My friends and I traveled to see them and we were not disappointed in the slightest. As for salt shed, I loved almost every aspect of it. It felt new and cutting edge without being too sterile. I will say though that the space would probably benefit greatly from some sound treatment in the ceiling. On the whole, sound quality was probably the only thing that left a bit to be desired. I’m not an acoustician, but it feels obvious to me that a large open space like that with primarily hard surfaces would need treatment in the rafters to cut back on reflections.

  • Excellent show! Exceeded expectations.

First time seeing Grizzly Bear in over 10 years. They put on an amazing show. They sounded great and the stage setup was visually stunning. I’d definitely see them again!

  • A bit disappointed…

by J. on 11/11/25The Salt Shed Indoors (Shed) - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

I was so excited to see this show. I love Grizzly Bear and I spent extra on the tickets for premium seats. Had I known that the sound quality would be as bad as it was I would not have paid more. We thought the opening band was horrible and they had better sound quality than the headliners. No matter where we sat all we heard was bass drum. That’s annoying. I did not pay to see a hip hop concert. I love Grizzly Bear for their nuances. The Salt Shed did not do them any favors there. We won’t go there again unfortunately.

Loved the show. These guys are great to see live. So happy I made it this time around. Missed their first show in Pittsburgh 4 or 5 years ago.

  • 2 for 1 special

by NPiper on 6/25/18STAGE AE - PittsburghRating: 5 out of 5

Both headliners provided exactly what I wanted. The only thing that could've been better was the other attendee's. Everyone showed up late for a show that I thought was the finest pairing since cheese and wine. Eventually the venue filled out but I'm surprised the line to get in started forming at 4pm and not noon.
