About

GRiZ in Concert

One of the leading independent artists in electronic music today, GRiZ is the Detroit-born, Denver-based multifaceted artist who's funkin' up dance floors worldwide with his self-described future funk sound, which mixes electronic music with his fiery live saxophone, energetic funk, and sweeping electro-soul.

Following a full year of self-reflection and creative development, GRiZ returns with ‘Ride Waves,' his new self-released album due out April 5, 2019. As his most creatively ambitious and most personal project to date, the 14-track album features collaborations with major artists like Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Matisyahu, DRAM, and Bootsy Collins and sees the producer taking his sound toward uncharted territories in hip-hop, pop, and dance music, all while keeping the funky GRiZ sound intact. The album follows his breakout album ‘Good Will Prevail' (September 2016), which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Electronic chart and charted on the Billboard 200 chart.

GRiZ's live shows, which mix improvised saxophone, guitar, and vocals and include the 15-piece GRiZ Live Band, have become massive draws around the world. In addition to mainstage performances at major festivals such as Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands, as well as headlining sets at Electric Forest and Lightning in a Bottle, GRiZ has headlined and sold out Denver's legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre for four consecutive years. www.mynameisgriz.com

    Overall Not Bad But Scary

by BTM on 12/31/22Big Night Live - Boston

I have seen Griz a dozen times in the past at multiple venues including Big Night Live. I had pit tickets to this sold out 18+ show. Having been to this exact show the year prior, I thought I knew what to expect. We came early to get decent spots and comfortably watched the openers. But, by the time Griz started the crowd was way too tight. Not just uncomfortably, but scarily. I was getting squished up against a wall with little means of getting out. I’ve been to a lot of shows that we’re really tight, but have never had this happen to me. We eventually were able to bully ourselves out of the situation and moved all the way back, which was still sorta tight. The whole time though, the people were not what you expect when going to a rave, particularly a Griz set. I would attribute it partially to Big Night Live set up and management of a sold out show, but also to the 18+ crowd that might not be familiar with rave pleasantries. Luckily, Griz always puts on a good show to help distract us.

One of my best concert experiences

by AJ on 12/31/22Big Night Live - Boston

I think there was an issue with one of the openers because there was at least a 30 minute break between the first DJ and Griz where there was no DJ and Griz started at 11:30, which was an hour earlier than expected. Other than that, the show was amazing. The mix was perfect and the set was great. When he played Color of Your Soul, it was one of the most amazing moments I’ve experienced at a concert. The crowd was really good and everyone there seemed to be an actual Griz fan which was cool. Another bad thing is that I think they oversold the show because it was incredibly crowded. I’ve been to over 20 shows at BNL and this might have been the most crowded I’ve ever seen it (might’ve been worse than Illenium).

Griz was great venue was a failure

by Meg on 12/30/22Echostage - Washington

I have been to Echostage many times and never has it been that packed. I was trampled by people the entire show could not see anything (I’m 5’8) I could not move, had my drink constantly spilled. I genuinely believe that they over sold tickets it was not safe in there.

    Amazing Energy

by Millz on 12/30/22Echostage - Washington

This is absolutely one of the best sets I’ve ever gotten to witness in person. GRiZ hasn’t always been one of my favorite artists, but his performance last night was so amazing and so high energy, and it made me fall in love with the music he was playing.

    Sound and environment

by Ellie on 12/30/22Echostage - Washington

Echostage sells too many tickets. We really thought we would experience crowd crush as we were subjected to seeing the show from the bottom of the stairs near the merch table (cold and no view of performer) and we were just pushed around all night. The show ended at 1:48, but shows usually go until 3. Will not return.

    Vibe Check: Passed

by Otternaut on 12/22/22Hampton Coliseum - Hampton

Space Camp was a dream!! Griz is my absolute favorite artist and this was my first Griz event (only seen him on tour or at festivals). The production and crowd was amazing. Nothing but the best vibes as always with his fans. The venue was perfect for the event and it truly felt like we were boarding the mothership to space. Highly recommend everyone checks out Space Camp for a fun, wholesome, funky, beautiful experience!

Incredible as always, despite some hiccups

by Sriracha on 12/20/22Hampton Coliseum - Hampton

Both nights were incredible. I always enjoy coming to the Coliseum considering it's not that far to travel too. Griz's production this year was by far the best out of all the shows I have seen of his. His team should be proud. My only complaint is that the production team and their equipment were in the center of the pit. Most shows I've been to have had it close to the back wall. This leaves a clear view of the stage. My group and I spent the majority of our time behind the sound booth, simply because there was more than enough room to dance and all other places we felt like sardines. The music was why I came but to see him clearly on stage would have made the experience even more special. Staff was friendly for the most part, the bartenders were amazing. I think the start times were switched the second night because we spent a good amount of time in the freezing cold waiting to get inside. It's all apart of the experience though, you'll see me next year!

    Awesome Performances, Decent Venue

by Holden on 12/19/22Hampton Coliseum - Hampton

All of the performances were awesome, Griz killed it both nights, but especially Night 2. The Hypnosis Beam/Telekinesis into was my favorite part. The lights, lasers, and sound were top-tier. The venue itself was not too bad... Only complaints are related to long lines and a few unpleasant staff members.

    Out of this world!

by Raving rach on 12/19/22Hampton Coliseum - Hampton

Space Camp year 1 and 2 were absolutely excellent! GRiZ outdid himself, the lasers and lights were the best I’ve ever seen at any concert/festival. The energy was amazing. I do wish the venue staff was more knowledgeable about the event/edm community, and I wish the venue had a place to step out and relax if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Also the venue was freezing, felt like all the doors were open. Definitely bring a hoodie during the winter! Overall space camp was incredible and the production & visuals were amazing!!!

    GRiZ is the king

by Patrick Lancaster on 12/19/22Hampton Coliseum - Hampton

I’ve been to several griz events the past couple of years, and they keep getting better. The stage production, his variety of music, and the crowd is unbelievable. I will continue to go to GRiZ events as long as they are around for me to go to 🫶💕

by Steve on 12/19/22Hampton Coliseum - Hampton

Griz has become a god of edm, his production has become baffling, his merch is Awsome, and his heart is full of love and passion for his fans. If I had the money I would attend every single griz even just to keep feeling the love he puts in your heart after every show. I truly appreciate grant and everything he does for his fans. SLSL

    GRiZ/NGHTMRE NEVER DISAPPOINT

by JJ on 12/19/22Hampton Coliseum - Hampton

Venue was awesome, the openers were great. But more importantly, GRiZ and NGHTMRE absolutely were electric! Every time I've seen them over the years, they always put on the best shows!

    Griz was amazing, venue sucked

by Chandler on 12/19/22Hampton Coliseum - Hampton

The security guards and venue workers were terrible. They took everything that I owned even if there was nothing wrong with it. Wouldn’t allow us to buy water bottles and keep the caps for them. They really made what would’ve been a perfect experience a lot less fun. Griz was absolutely phenomenal though and the production was on another level.
