About

The Grey Cup is the annual Canadian Football League (CFL) championship game. The game have been held nearly every year since its inaugural match in 1909, with exceptions between 1916 and 1918, as well as 2020. The trophy has exchanged hands with many notable recipients, including its Grey Cup-leading, 18-time winner Toronto Argonauts and the CFL’s longest dynasty, the Edmonton Elks, who claimed five consecutive championships between 1978 and 1982. The final, which is accompanied by the week-long Grey Cup Festival celebration, has regularly changed its host city, with Toronto, Vancouver and Hamilton holding the most exhibitions throughout the years. On November 17 2024, the 111th Grey Cup will be played in Vancouver for the 17th time overall, with BC Place set to be the venue for the 10th time.

    Canada comes together

by Gooop on 11/23/22Mosaic Stadium - Regina

I’ve attended over 30 Grey Cup games with the weekend celebrations to match. It was “finally” again wide open with full events and large spaces open and mask free. Last year in Hamilton was an awesome weekend, just too bad it was tempered because of the COVID concerns. Regina put on a full party with all the regional colours and people in full spirit. The game … well maybe one of the strangest endings we have witnessed but that’s typical for being a close Grey Cup ending. Hey last year was overtime … can’t wait for 2023 and doing it all over in the Hammer! Long live Grey Cup weekends and the CFL.

    Chaos in the departure

by Cyndi on 11/23/22Mosaic Stadium - Regina

The beginning and middle were very well organized. But leaving the stadium was chaos. I been pushed and shoved in the lineup to get on the bus and almost fell because of someone pushing their bag into the back of my leg.

    Great time and well done

by Meishka on 12/15/21Tim Hortons Field - Hamilton

The activations were super fun, great social distancing, great access to concessions. One issue was cleanliness of port a potties.

    Fantastic Locals

by Billio on 12/15/21Tim Hortons Field - Hamilton

We had a blast. Got to the tailgate party early. the Locals welcomed us we started with Lisa's Party. A band Named teenage head performed. They were great! we then went over to the Box J boys tent. We had previously met them at the Corktown Pub. everything was perfect. True CFL fans. on my way to the stadium Aunt Robin invited us into her party on Leinster Ave. We had a blast. Onward to the stadium we got in Quick and found our seats easy. food was better than average and our seats were good despite being on the second level. The halftime show was very good although sound quality was lacking from our seat. We were wandering out as the grey cup got presented. (that could have happened a bit quicker) then I would have stayed longer. The Grey Cup Event organizers need to understand what a massive resource the locals are and harness that energy. the informal parties were the highlight although the others were ok and I attended almost all of them. The locals made the trip for me and I want to return in two years. Well done Hammertown!

    Grey Cup 108

by Solo Attendee on 12/15/21Tim Hortons Field - Hamilton

Grey Cup 108 Day was pretty good. The tailgate party hosted from 1-4 pm had a variety of performers, with the Trews ending the party. The bonus was having them play a local Teenage Head song with their lead singer in attendance and joining them. The concessions both outside and inside the stadium were typical average food. I can’t comment on the events during the week, as I didn’t attend any of them. The people attending the game were from across the country and everyone seemed to get along great, no issues that I am aware of. The cost of the seating was fair especially for the Hamilton fans who got to see their home team Tiger Cats. The halftime show was very good having the Arkells, although the sound system could have been better. The one thing that should be improved upon, especially with a sold out crowd, is those long line ups to get into the washrooms. That was very disappointing, as there were times that fans missed about half of a quarter at times. Overall, pretty good time.

    Grey Cup 108 -Hamilton

by John A on 12/15/21Tim Hortons Field - Hamilton

If you ever get the chance to go to a Grey Cup, take it. It really is a "people's party" Half the fun was wandering around different parking lots, teasing fans in different team colours and getting teased. Every exchanged ended with laughter and often a beer. The hospitability, friendliness and welcome we got from the Hamilton fans was amazing. Then there is the football game and pre and halftime music. Somehow both are always great. The game went into overtime. This was our third Grey Cup and we really enjoyed every minute. We are looking forward to our next one. Go Argos!

Great Event, need more bathroom facilities

by Bomber's Fan on 12/15/21Tim Hortons Field - Hamilton

We had a great time. Great atmosphere. Just need better bathroom facilities. I missed about 1/4 of the game due to long line up for the bathroom. That's not right.

    Disappointed in Calgary

by 1st Grey Cup on 11/29/19McMahon Stadium - Calgary

It started with the arrival at Calgary International Airport, No signage, no information and when I asked at the information desk there was no real understanding that Canada’s National Football championship was being played that weekend. The Stadium was in rough shape with very few options for food. The half time show was staged for only half of the stadium. I had seats on row 3 at the 50 yard line but could see none of the show because they wheeled up a stage with a large back wall - who does this? $460 ticket and could see none of the half time show. The game was one sided, but that was not the organizers fault. Overall very disappointed - I was really excited about going to my first Grey Cup. I left disappointed. I know that Calgary can do better than this.

    Mcmahon a poor venue

by Ceebs on 11/27/19McMahon Stadium - Calgary

The stadium has 2 small clocks in the north end which we could not see as people were in front of them. The main large clock which normally has stats on it had the game and replays only. We had keith urban looking right at us, people on the east side saw nothing. The beer and washrooms were much better with porta potties and beer sales outside the stadium but not a reentry. We sat on metal bleachers with no backs.

    1/2 time show great/poor

by Rider Fan on 11/27/19McMahon Stadium - Calgary

The game was good, venue was ok, price was a little steep but ok, the only big issue was the 1/2 time show. When the show was hyped constantly for the Grey Cup a better stage set up was needed. Over 1/2 of the crowd could not see the show as it was facing to the west crowd only. The east crowd only got to see the back of it. Very poor idea and stage placement. The stage should have either been round or set up in the south end zone.

    Unbelievable experience!!!

by Jackie on 11/27/19McMahon Stadium - Calgary

This was my first Grey Cup experience and let me tell you, it won’t be my last! Tickets were a little outrageous, but at the same time, it was a great game with great entertainment. Well worth it !!!

Calgary sure knows how to party!

by Magooskichuk on 11/27/19McMahon Stadium - Calgary

What a well planned event!!!. The only thing that could have made it better is if the Riders made it to the final game.. The notifications via Ticketmaster really helped to capitalize the vibe of the event. Events, times and locations, were easily mapped out and free transportation to and from the game was a huge surprise. I've been to a few Grey Cups now none of them have been as good as this one. Great job Ticketmaster and Calgary for hosting such a successful event. Looking forward to 2020 in Regina!.

Greycup two thumbs up except 1/2 time stage.

by C brown on 11/27/19McMahon Stadium - Calgary

I had an amazing time at the event!!!! I am however disappointed that the set up of the half time stage was facing west, so, everyone on the east side could not see anything.

    Grey Cup 2016 was fantastic!

    by Tommy33 on 11/30/16BMO Field - Toronto

Grey Cup 2016 was fantastic! The seats were the best as I had on field seating with access to the BMO Club (hospitality suite) which offered generous snacks and drinks for those with on field seating. The game was overtime which added to the excitement. Why not offer a scaled down version of the BMO Club for regular season games for those Argo fans who had on field seating. I do feel there could have been more planning by Toronto in terms of organizing fan transportation to and from the game. Yet, this year's Grey Cup was amazing!

by cristochris on 11/30/16BMO Field - Toronto

It was a great venue, lots of action and the lighted bracelets were neat. The half time show was real good but too short. The lines for the food was too long and several of the beer stations kept running out of cold beer.

    Horrible Service at Stadium

    by FootballFan11232 on 11/30/16BMO Field - Toronto

Had a problem with obstructed view ask someone to address and was faced with the rudest service. Security was aggressive for absolutely no reason when watching warm up for the game for an acceptable location. The football game itself was amazing however I would never recommend anyone to attend any event at BMO Feild as nearly every single employee I encounter was rude for no reason. The Venue ruined the experience of going to the game.

Continuous entertainment on and off the field

    by Tigger8888 on 11/30/16BMO Field - Toronto

The energy of the crowd, the back and forth scoring and the half time show, complete with ever changing colour brackets made this a total package to remember. We also appreciated the co-ordination with GO to put on the extra trains to get us off the platforms and on our way home.

    104 grey cup!!

    by LM06 on 11/30/16BMO Field - Toronto

Overall, it was a great game to watch (from what I saw anyway). Our original seats were the addition that they made to the stadium. They were bleacher style seats and there were so many people crammed into one row that we ended up not being able to sit in our seats. When we moved down to standing only, we missed half of the plays because of people in and out of their seats. People were stepping on our feet trying to get the best view of the game which also resulted in drinks getting spilled on us. After all was said and done, we approached security who led us to a BMO tent and they were happy to upgrade our seats for us for the second half of the game.
