Greta Van Fleet in Concert
In three years, Greta Van Fleet went from touring the grimy rock bars of Detroit and Saginaw to headlining shows on five continents with audiences triple their hometown’s population. The band that once attracted crowds of teens to improvised forest concerts, have now sold over one million tickets worldwide. Stadiums in Italy are a far cry from a field strewn with pick-up trucks, framed by the canopy of tall coniferous trees, where they learned to love an audience. Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater is a world away from the tiny Midwestern bars where they got their start (before they were even of legal drinking age). From Frankenmuth to a tour bus across America, then their first ever flight to Europe, their newest album The Battle at Garden’s Gate, released April 16, 2021, is a reflection of their journey into the present.
So many have been positioned as the future, we’ve forgotten how to recognize the real thing. Expectations may run high, but Greta Van Fleet is indifferent to opinion. The band doesn’t have to say a certain thing or act a certain way to convince anyone of their capacity. All they have to do is play.
Energized the masonic crowd with a rock performance for the ages...
Greta Van Fleet is the best thing ghat has happened to music in decades. True Rock n Roll! A refreshing wonderful band.
I loved the show amazing performance. They are even better live then in recordings. Only complaint was the main act was a bit short.
What a good show! Dorothy was amazing, her voice is incredible and makes it look so effortless. GVF's performance was great, the guitarist and drummer were on point. Lots of solos and extended versions of songs.
The Masonic was a very nice venue. It was extremely nice and it wa a very quick and organized process with parking and seating. As for GVF, they are amazing. I urge every single person who likes rock to see them. Best concert ever!!
The sound to me was perfection! Great show! Masonic is a beautiful venue.
Guitar players was off the hook! Vocals were strong. Good sound mix.
What an amazing band. Great music and very engaging. I can't wait to see them again. Don't miss the opportunity to see Greata Van Fleet.
Thought I was seeing Plant, Page, Bonham, and Jones at age 21. Supremely talented and no messing around. See them before they only play the big venues.
Epic show at the Fox Theater. Came all the way from reno Nevada to see them perform. Didn’t disappoint!
Great show, their opening act (Dorothy) were terrific and now we're following them too.
Both bands were great but I'd give the edge to Greta. The venue has a lot to be desired, the acoustics are not great and you have to stand from the time you get there to the time you leave.(NOT GREAT AT ALL).
Wow !! Great show. Its awesome to see such young and energetic guys jamming so hard. They do have a Led Zep sound but all original tunes. The lead singers voice !! What can I say but how can he scream like that show after show ?? The opening band Dorothy was great too. Finally the Paramount is an awesome place to see shoes. The only negative was the beverage restrictions. You were not allowed to bring a beer or drink ( bottle water ok ) into the venue. Even of we purchased the expense " sippy " cups. Weird !! Thanks - Spanky
Blast from the past but with a modern twist. Don't let their age fool you.. these dudes can rock. Excellent concert with exception to the venue. The band more than made up for that tho. This band will succeed.. heck... they already have! Awesome is the word here.
Great performance! every song was brilliant! Audience was all ages and loved it. Dorothy opened and she was fantastic as well. What a fun show!
Rock n' Roll at it's best. They blew the roof off the place.
I have been binge listening to GVF's From The Fires album since the album first came available. I went cold turkey from listening for two weeks before their show at the Paramount Seattle 9/7 and I have to say... Watching these 19 to 22 year old kids play like they just channeled some of the old greats is extremely refreshing. The amount of raw talent is undeniable and they are just getting started. Their understanding of melody, tone, transition and build up makes you feel like you just read an epic fantasy book that took you through a range of experiences bordering from subtle subdued melancholy to redemptive burst through walls power and joyous euphoria. Standing next to them and seeing it done live brought forth a longing of an era I wish I would have lived through. It made you think you were one of the kids from Detroit Rock City and came straight from a Dazed and Confused like party from your parents basement in the 70s. If these guys keep doing what they are doing and evolve as people and musicians, the increased intricacies and depth they will develop may very well make them one of the best bands of our generation. Many people had dreams of kicking ass on stage with a bad ass rock sound when they were young......these guys are actually doing it. I will not compare them to any previous artists. Thought there is no doubt they may have been influenced just like any other band out there, time will tell what unique personality they will develop into. There are still some rough edges here and there live, but now we may get to watch their transformation into something unique and special. Going to a show from this specific tour, I expect may be like your grand-kids eventually asking you what it was like to see them live. Just like I ask my parents and grandparents what it was like to see the The Doors, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath...etc. You will not regret it if you go.
I had the opportunity to see these guys at a very small venue about a year ago. They were great then and they were great at the Paramount. There were only a couple of things.....their set was too short (only an hour and 10 mins) and I couldn't hear the vocals as well as I thought I should (especially at such a great venue as the Paramount). If you haven't seen them before you really should!
The opener Dorothy was amazing! Greta Van Fleet was good, band sounded good, vocals need work, very young singer seemed very arrogant.
What a great show...selfishly only wished they would have played longer. Looking forward to watching these guys through the years, amazing talent!!
