GREGORY ALAN ISAKOV IN CONCERT:

Folk singer-songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov has been enthralling audiences with his strong vocals and smooth acoustic tunes since the mid-'90s. His solo live performances are filled with passion and emotion, and he tells affecting stories with powerful lyrics on fan favorites like "The Stable Song" and "Big Black Car". Whether he's strumming his Gibson or performing alongside a full orchestra, Isakov commands the stage with ease and has ticket buyers coming out in droves to his exciting live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Johannesburg and raised in Pennsylvania, Gregory Alan Isakov got his start at age 16 touring with a local band. While in college at Naropa University, Isakov began penning songs about his travels and worldly experiences and collaborated with other musicians on campus. His acoustic-driven music and narrative lyrics truly took shape when he recorded and released his 2003 debut Rust Colored Stones, an earthy album that showcased his songwriting talents and soothing vocals. He’s spent time on the road touring the US, Canada, and Europe with his band and has gained a devoted following along the way. Since then Isakov has released three more acclaimed albums including 2013’s Weatherman, which peaked at No. 1 on the Top Heatseekers Albums chart and earned major critical praise. With his solid collection of folk ballads, the humble singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist creates an intimate experience for concertgoers every time he takes the stage.

We had a Great time at the Gregory Alan Isakov performance, the music was clear the band sounded tight and the vocals were excellent. It was the first time we saw the Shook Twins too who were also great. We Loved the show! Truly a 5 Star Show! L.C.

  • We had a group of seven to see the concert and we all loved.

We had seen Gregory Alan Isakov in DC just two months ago, but when we found out he was coming to Baltimore, we bought tickets immediately. His voice is deep and rich but can still hit beautiful high notes. All of the band members are so talented. So many strings.

Gregory Alan Isakov is the best musician I've seen live. Acoustics are perfect every time and the crowd is always quiet and respectful. I've seen him 3 times and have driven out of state to see him. Will continue!

  • Amazing Music

by Love Music on 1/14/19Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

First time seeing this artist. Received tickets as a gift from our son and really did not know what to expect. Really enjoyed this artist and the band behind him blew me away. The music was folk art/americana so a little low key. The music reminded me a little of Trans siberian Orchestra but on a smaller scale. It had a way of pulling you into the experience. You could tell they really enjoyed playing and so much talent. Gregory also had a sense of humor which which made it feel so personal. The opening act the Milk Carton Boys, also very entertaining. Of course the venue always great for a concert but the seats not so comfortable. Would definitely recommend this artist.

Gregory put on another great show, the wild reeds opened for them and they were great as well! I just didn’t love my seat, was super high up and the people in front of me kept making out and talking so it was hard to see around their moving heads.
