The event is always good, but this year was one to forget, with all the rain, they played the National Anthem and the Stars & Stripes, then canceled the rest of the program which also included the fireworks.
Absolutly awful strings were ubale to play due to weather. Everyone stayed anyway because it was stated rain or shine and after five minted of play time from the horns. It was over as well as they decided not to do fireworks. Also my child was charged a reentry fee for going to the car to get A tent just 2 minutes prior to the end of the performance. Which she did not know and would not have done if only someone would have told her it would be over and there would be no fireworks. Poor planing given the week long forecast of rain.
Rules are "Rain or Shine"... I thought that meant that there's a performance if it rains or if it shines...I get that. So, not wanting to waste the money I spent on tickets, I packed to listen in the rain - it was forecast a week in advance of the 4th. Sure enough, we got rain. After 15 minutes of downpour, the strings left. Luckily, we heard the brass and woodwinds play the Star Spangled Banner, then The Stars and Stripes while we waited for the fireworks. Five minutes after the Stars and Stripes was over, we get the announcement that it was too wet to light the fireworks! (although other places around the area were having a heyday shooting off fireworks). I didn't realize the "Rain of Shine" really meant, "Rain or Shine, we keep your money!" Sad I didn't get to hear the symphony - I am a huge fan - but sadder to learn that the venue isn't organized enough to have contingency plans for rain...such as keeping the fireworks dry!
Unfortunately due to the rain the event Oraganization was lacking. Tickets did say rain or shine even with the forecast we went with the hopes that that would be true. I know that the weather is beyond anyones control but if an event is listed as rain or Shine it would be nice if that was actually the case. After waiting more than 45 min Half of the orchestra played two songs and fireworks were canceled. I do feel a refund or even credit for a future event would be a good decision in this case. Previous years were awesome- we will be there next year despite this less than stellar review.
The orchestra was great, very nice relaxed atmosphere, fireworks were very nice. Only thing I might change is to have more food vendors -- not ice cream/cotton candy/etc but actual meal options.
WOW!!!!! OUTSTANDING!!! GREAT!!!! Very well organized for the the big crowd!!!! Affordable lawn tickets ($5.00) with the BEST VIEW!!! The orchestra was EXCEPTIONAL!!!!! and the FIREWORKS were FANTASTIC!!!! GREAT WAY TO SPEND A 4th::)))
Our whole family enjoyed the concert and of course the fireworks. It's a fine way to celebrate Independence Day.
The patriotic music was awesome as usual. I have been to this event every year since it's inception and it only get's better every year. The fireworks coupled with the cannons and live orchestra playing at the same time is breathtaking. A must see show celebrating our amazing country's independence.
I highly recommend the Fourth of July celebration at the Simpsonville Charter Amphitheater ! We bought a VIP table and took some business clients for the event. It was the first opportunity we had to attend an event there since we are new to the area. It definitely won't be the last event we attend there.
Maestro Tchivzhel was animated, entertaining, and looked great in his very cool custom July 4th duds. The program was a great mix of American folk, jazz, big band, as well as the 1812 Overture. Very well executed, excellent for the 4th. Too bad the speaker volume was set WAY too high.
Smokers moving freely throughout the crowd, limited bottled water supply but unlimited alchohol, and sad fireworks made for a disappointing evening in the 90 degree temperatures. I personally will not take my kids back. Downtown Greenville definitely has a better fireworks show.
This event was the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day. Good music, great fireworks, and good concessions on hand all made the evening fun for everyone. Parking and traffic handling both into and out of the event was good, as were the restroom facilities. The live cannonade from the Sons of Confederate Veterans was great as well. We will be back next year.
The show was nice, but had some things left desired. The Orchestra was very good, but why do they repeat the same old music? Every fireworks display always is a cookie cutter event, seen one, seen them all type music. The fireworks display was "very very good" but was off by about 5 seconds with the music, which isn't bad considering. I guess not everyone has timing anyway. Overall, it was a nice evening.
BEST DISPLAY OF FIREWORKS ALONG WITH CONFEDERATE CANNONS PLUS ONE OF THE MOST ENJOYABLE CONCERTS EVER ! Washington has NOTHING on us down here in good ole SC ! This was the most impressive celebration I have attended in many years. Traffic control was GREAT also. Got us out in timely manner. I WILL PUT THIS ON MY CALENDAR FOR NEXT 4TH ! GREAT JOB SIMPSONVILLE!
The Greenville Symphony Orchestra was fantastic! Loved the fireworks.
It was a great event. Fun for the whole family and the kids had a blast! A must go!!
The Greenville Symphony at Heritage Park on July 4 was a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We not only heard great music while the cannons roared but were treated to a delightful fireworks display.
Excellent! The concert was incredible! The fireworks were awesome! The night was perfect! An annual tradition has been born!

This year was the best ever!! The only confusion was they switched the area they did them from. Once everyone turned around the fireworks where GREAT!! Good job by Charter and the City of Simpsonville!!
