    Absolutely spectacular!!!

    by Luvmy6K9 on 10/25/11Westover Church - Greensboro

Bob Stillman was magnificent and a very pleasant surprise. The orchestra added such fine elements to the songs and complemented the unbelievable talents of the singers and band. I could not have been more suprised and pleased. What an incredible show for the price!!! Thank you for bringing such fine talent to our small little NC world!

    Sweet Baby James was refreshing!

by CWDJE on 10/24/11Westover Church - Greensboro

What a walk down memory lane, reminding us of kinder, gentler, easier days. Made us smile often with the nostalgia of it all. Hoping the Greensboro Symphony brings them back with their John Denver/Dan Fogelberg show. Artists were fantastic!

    Certainly was Mozart!!!!!!!!!

by PastProf on 5/17/11Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

What a treat to have an amateur conductor lead the Overture to the Marriage of Figaro. Orchestra and conductor superb. Too much orchestra and chorus for the requiem, The size overwhelmed the music. Also, the female soloists were, for the most part, weak and could not be heard to the extent they should have - especially the soprano.

    Wow Mozart!

by russiaalways on 5/9/11Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

Hey , it was Mozart. What was not to like.? But I came to hear the choral music with the symphony. I love that kind of music. I would hope the symphony would do more with the Greensboro Choral in the future. Together they are so powerful. I enjoyed the soloists, and especially Sitkovetsky on the violin. He is a particular gift. . I have enjoyed the Cleveland Orchestra, the Russian Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, but hey good music provided with a conductor as talented as Sitkovetsky is good anywhere. It was a wonderful night.! We will attend others next year.

    Gershwin, Bernstein, et al

by luvswing on 4/11/11Westover Church - Greensboro

Wonderful concert! Not only Gershwin and Bernstein, but Rodgers & Hammerstein, Jerome Kern, and a few more. The singers were excellent, too. I was surprised at the casualness of Sitkovetsky's dress - he wore no tie and the shirt was open at the neck whereas the singers were dressed in tux and evening gown. Nevertheless, it was a very enjoyable evening. It gave the feeling that he didn't hold the audience in very high esteem.

    Very nice!

by stew9329 on 1/25/11Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

My 3 young daughters and I really enjoyed this event. It provided an opportunity for me to show them and speak with them about the different instruments which were used, such as violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute and cymbals, etc. My daughters were ready to go by intermission, however.

    Yura Lee and Friends

by winfieldino on 1/23/11UNCG Recital Hall - Greensboro

This was about the finest Chamber Concert that I've ever heard. Not only was guest artist Yura Lee superb, but so were Dimitri, Janet, Beth and Inara. All 3 selections were performed technically brilliant and the Dvorak and Mendelssohn pieces were musically ravishing!

    Benny Goodman Tribute

by luvswing on 1/2/11Westover Church - Greensboro

Great performances by all involved particularly Bennett. Would have preferred more 40's era music. Bennett spent more time that I liked on jazz variations. Drummer and pianist were super.

Sitkovetski & Friends Thrill Once Again

by Pitirish on 5/22/10UNCG Recital Hall - Greensboro

The Sitkovetski & Friends Chamber Concert series is a dazzling jewel in Greensboro's cultural crown. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Garcon Rice, of Rice Toyota, and to the brilliance of players from the Greensboro Symphony, an appreciative audience enjoyed magnificent performances throughout the evening. Katherine Ciesinski was pure sterling in her vocal renditions of first, Respighi's "Il Tramonte" and then, as the poor fish in Shubert's "Trout" quintet. Thanks to Dimitri Sitkovetski for his leadership and guidance of the evening's entertainment, and to the Greensboro Symphony staff and administration for having presented such a wonderful season of high quality, community lifting classical experiences. In the best tradition of the genre, "Brava!"
