Overall, I thought it was a good show, especially if you like Green Day's music. However, the story was lacking. The characters needed further development and there needed to be more dialogue. The music, lighting, and choreographing were spectacular, but the story was lacking. The songs were enough to carry the idea of what was going on, but not to create memorable and relatable characters.
Very good. It was reminiscent of the musical RENT, in my opinion.

Green Day's music transitions effortlessly from album to stage in "American Idiot." Minimal dialogue is used to serve as timestamps, and the songs effectively tell the stories of three young men on quests to make something of their lives. Beautifully staged.
Can't say enough about how good this show was. Music, set, staging, choreography - beyond great! If I'd gone the first night, I would have gone again the second night.

My husband and I went and saw this and thought it was amazing!! Great Story Line and the songs and the effects and the actors were awesome together!!!! Would definitely go to see it again!!!!!!!!
I took my boyfriend who had never been to a show and doesn't like musicals. He loved it! Said the show was like going to a rock concert. Great music, great dancing, great show.
When I heard that American Idiot was coming to Utica, New York, I wasted no time in purchasing the tickets. I am so thankful I did! Everything was done right from the music, to the dancing, to the costumes, to the extravagant set. I absolutely adored "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." I found it interesting that the song is about being all alone, but at the last chorus the entire company sings along with the main character. It is something to think about...I wish the show could play every night. I would be right there in the audience rocking out loud :D

Great voices, great dancing and I loved the fact the band was on stage and not in "the pit".
This show was simply amazing! Raw energy from start to finish, and the music...Green Day is the best!!! The actors did this justice--they were great! I could watch this show over and over.
Loved everything accept for the casting of St.Jimmy. He was too flamboyant for the character I think, and his singing was not good, to say the least. Get a new St.Jimmy and it would have been a perfect show.
Absolutely amazing! Very, very talented cast. The other cities on this tour are in for a real treat.
Highly Recommend. This show was Fantastic! Go see it.
