Highly recommend seeing American Idiot if you like the energy of great performers. A very good cast. Don't think this is suitable for kids younger than high school.
Fantastic show. Van Hughes rocked it out just like he did when we saw this show on Broadway last March.
Took my 16-yr-old son to see this, hoping he would feel the power of live theater. Success! He was able to sit through the whole thing without a squirm, and follow the story. Did not tell me he hated it!
Definently not a show for children. Lot's of "F bombs" and sexual content. The music and singing was first rate and powerful!! Truely awesome!! A great performance!! If you like Green Day, you won't want to miss this show!!
To me it is like when we started to hear The Beatles songs selling cars on TV commercials. Green Day songs did not seem to fit on the musical stage. I did not care for the show and hope that other bands will not follow in their foot steps. To me it was a commercial sell out. I understand the value to reach out to a different fan base but for me as a life long fan of Green Day it was a big disappointment.
It was an awesome show. I do not think it is fitting for young children but teenagers and up will love it!
I've been waiting for this show to come to this area since it left Broadway, and It was definitely worth the wait. American Idiot was truly a great show and I hope its tour finds its way back to this area again!
The show was very authentic to who Green Day is/was. The dancing was impressive and again true to the show and not "cleaned up" to be something else. The story line kept my interest through out the show. Action, energy and some laughs, The characters were very believeable.
Nothing warm and fuzzy about this musical - loud, awesome rock! Was a little concerned to hear some of the language while sitting next to my 13-yr. old daughter, but I should have known that would be the case - Green Day, after all. Other than that, everyone in our party aged 13-45 loved it! So many of Green Day's songs were included, so it was like a concert with extra movement. I recommend it!
Nicely done with alot of energy by the performers. Musicians were outstanding!
It was a great venue for this performance. Music was awesome.
not really a fan of the whole broadway thing, this show was exactly the kind of show that appeals to me. the music was great, the dancing was great, the whole show was brilliant.
Awesome show. A little on the dark side but great.
We thoroughly enjoyed it. The entire cast was excellent.
Not really a broadway type of guy so wasn't sure what to expect. It was awesome. Beyond all my expectations. I would recomend for everyone, particularly if you are not the typical broadway audience.
I am not a fan of musicals, so I was a bit worried about whether I would like the show or not. I loved it! I love Green Day! It was great to hear the music. The story line was powerful yet it did not interfere with the music. I could really feel the emotions to the characters in the story. I loved that the band blended in with the set.
Great performance with the most unique choreography. I would see it again tomorrow!
Been a Green Day fan for 20+ years and was a little skeptical about this undertaking. After seeing the reviews and noted the show playing in STL decided to give it a whirl. SO glad I did! An awesome mix of Green Day rock and Broadway show. I would see it again!
This show was a shocking example of our modern ADD culture. IT contained a rapid fire stimulation of sight and sound. A little over the top with the f-bomb it was more like a machine gun. You need to be prepared for many very adult themes. Great musicians and singers. Incredible talent. If you like Green Day or just good rock and roll this is the show to see. This show is a closer relationship and expression of our modern day youth and the battles they face.
