GLI, one of the oldest college hockey tourneys, continues to be a great event. All four games were competitive, the arena was full and things ran smoothly. And, of course, the Michigan Tech Pep Band stole the show as always!
Had a great weekend at the GLI Tournament at Van Andel arena. The people working concessions were all very upbeat. I didn’t really eat but the beverage assortment was very good(loved that you had Diet Mt Dew available.
Easy access once I figured out how to move my tickets into my Google Wallet. Great seats and choice of concessions except done sold twizzlers or Red Vines!
Had a great time at the games but was shocked at the prices of concessions. Was much more expensive than when the griffins play. Thought the concessions pricing would be more reasonable especially since about half the crowd were college students.
It was great to attend the GLI at the Van Andel arena once again! It’s a fun atmosphere and great place to cheer on the Huskies and MSU. Keep it in Grand Rapids every year!

Bought our tickets, booked our room, checked in, got our “little” dog settled, and headed to game. Easy walk, excellent care by city police for traffic control and safety. Found our seats, listened to the 2024 version of the MTU pep band, and enjoyed the game. Had to leave after the first period of the second game to check on dog, would have been nice to come back, but rules is rules. Enjoyed walking said dog around the ice rink on Monday (he was scared of Blizzard, but they are the same size!). Got ready for second game and enjoyed completely! Had a bit of a headache, and wanted to get some food, walk the dog, and watch the Lions, so did not stay for championship game, but I know it was good! Had a wonderful time in GR, and will be back next year! Go Tech!
What a great event. Shout out Michigan Tech for hosting a great event. It’s fantastic. Only downside is WMU isn’t in it every year otherwise I’d go every year. See you in 2026
