Need more covered seating. The first day was wet and the second very hot.

Great race, but grandstand needs to have overhead cover (shade) like so many other races i have attended in the past to make it an even better than average race venue.

A Day at the Houston Grand Prix.

by Dunville on 7/4/14NRG Park - Houston

Great seats at a great race. Still a problem for those with limited mobility to cross the track into or out of the action. Steps are not always the answer. Rain and heat a factor but not overpowering. What happened to the finish line TV? Very disruptive and made race less enjoyable. End TV screens almost impossible to see and interpret. Really couldn't determine what was happening on the track away from the finish line area. The sound on Satruday was a disaster - worthless. Sunday was better.

Indy Cars Are Not Enough Draw

by grabaroot on 7/3/14NRG Park - Houston

You need another big-time race such as American Lemans, Int'l Sedans, whatever, in conjunction with Indy. Mo fans, mo money.

    terrible seats

by utlawyer on 7/3/14NRG Park - Houston

There was a lot to see if you could take the extreme heat and lack of shade. Drink stands were few and far between and quite expensive.

    Grand Prix in Houston

    by linda1020 on 7/3/14NRG Park - Houston

I love the racing, the noise, the cars and seeing the drivers up close! But it is TOO HOT in Houston in June! We need to be one of the first 2 races early in the season. Our weather is too humid and June is not safe for fans or drivers. We had a group of 8 and had 1 heat sickness. I loved the event when it was in the streets of downtown instead of the parking lot. I may not go next year due to the heat if its in the summer time. Water bottles at $5 is just not good. Love the racing and enjoy going but we do not have the best place for it. Still love my racing!!

    Ban umbrellas

by Anonymous on 7/3/14NRG Park - Houston

Race was great, but some fans used large umbrellas for shade, blocking the view of fans behind them. Please ban umbrellas. Fans using them do not put them down when asked politely. It's hot. Please either ban umbrellas or have race in early spring or late fall.

    Houston Indycar Grand Prix (Sunday)

by CosmicG on 7/3/14NRG Park - Houston

Good race and I liked the venue but it was just too freaking hot. I'd gladly recommend it and go back next year IF they moved it to a cooler time of year.

It was everything I expected and MORE. It was worth the money, I along with my friends were really Impressed with how organized everything was front the parking to the vendors to the VOLUNTEERS. If your going to charge $8 for a beer it should be COLD, and it WAS. Along with the cokes and water, the food vendors offered Good Quality food in a Quick manner. I really like the fact that some type of racing was going on at all times. The only suggestion I have anyone who mite attend in the future, is take SUN SCREEN and a HAT if possible. Loved the Sound and Excitement. Thank YouI ENJOYED

    Awesome seats, but HOT!!!

by MommaAim on 7/3/14NRG Park - Houston

Great seats to see the pits, flaggers, and awarding of trophies. Just make sure to bring a hat, lots of water, stadium seats, etc. 90 degrees mid-day at the end of June in humid Houston with no shade is brutal! I got overheated and ended up in the first aid trailer. Wish they could put some kind of cover over the grandstand for a little bit of shade.

    Great family event!

by CGail on 7/2/14NRG Park - Houston

I appreciated the autograph sessions that were provided so fans could meet the future pro-drivers. I would suggest they have more computers to "sign up" for things, & additional folks to help navigate the system. The lines were long.

    F1 in Houston

Sat in section D of grandstand across from pits. Pretty good layout of the grounds. Great upset in race two.

    Raceday rocked

by Ncoast on 7/2/14NRG Park - Houston

We had a great time at the Houston Grand Prix. The staff was very friendly and the racing was great. Fortunately the weather was moderate for the end of June and it was tolerable. If the event continues in this same time of year and day it could be miserable. While we had a great time this year, I hope the timing improves.

Too hot in June. The organization did a good job providing air conditioning.

    Great weekend

    by Alba1 on 7/2/14NRG Park - Houston

Great racing and decent organization for a temporary street circuit. The organization could have done better with the supporting program (which has been the case in the past) and that would make the whole event much more attractive. If the invocation is going to be used as a marketing exercise for engine and chassis suppliers etc. please just drop it. That was quite distasteful!

    Fossil-Fueled Fun!

by PoweredbyMazda on 7/2/14NRG Park - Houston

The weekend was fantastic. This is truly an event to see in person. You just don't get the sights and sounds when watching IndyCar on television. Even the support races were incredible. If you like excitement, even if you don't particularly like cars or racing, you'll love this. I highly recommend it.

    Good track, bad electronics

    by RandomName99 on 7/2/14NRG Park - Houston

The track itself, the layout, seats and vendors were fantastic. The track was quick and action was good. The volunteers helping at the track were friendly and helpful (we even got a free bottle of water and earplugs). The seats we had were excellent, however a large tree at Turn 1 prevented us from seeing down the course. This massive piece of nature wasn't listed on the track map or I would've moved my seats to the left so I can see more of the course. Saturday had no Speaker system. So we did not hear pre-race announcements, race announcements, or even the announcement of a winner. I attend the St. Pete Grand Prix every year and I am used to some electronics and announcements going on during every race. This seemed very very broken. Bathrooms were not as evenly spaced out as I would've preferred. In Section 1, where everyone enters Grandstand 1, there were 6 portapotties, where as the end of Grandstand 1 had about 30. The vendors inside were varied and downright strange. I am not from Texas, but it felt like a flea market. Paddock wasn't as well organized as St.Pete and it seemed rather spread out.

    Too Hot

by TrailTrash on 7/2/14NRG Park - Houston

An event worker would not let us use our small umbrellas for shade, even though the stands were not full and we were not blocking anybody's view. We had to leave after only 20 laps. The heat was too much.

Two full days of racing. Great seats. Nice people. Highlight of my summer.
