My wife and I attended the race and had a great time. We were able to get into the city with absolutely no trouble. After the races, we found it just as easy to leave. Even we were amazed! With 4 races to watch that day, it really was a festive atmosphere. The staff that was gathered to help people find what they were looking for were very helpful, pleasant and knowledgable about their job. We attend races at the local level and wanted to experience what Indy Car was about. Our experience was outstanding! I would say that our seats were very good and afforded us a good view of the area we were sitting in. With the large TV monitors, we never felt like we didn"t have an idea of what was happening around the circuit. Ovreall, it was a great experience.

    See you next year!

by Snakehound on 9/10/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

This event has something for everyone from youngsters in their "cars" to adult refreshment spots. The ability to tour the garages in the Convention Center is a great addition. Don't know what is more exciting: the actual cars or their haulers. Drivers and crews alike are very friendly and willing to answer questions (no matter how dumb) until they have to get ready to race. Only drawback was the long delay to fix the track after a wreck caused my the Baltimore light rail track.

    Great Race, Great event

by MySweetJulie on 9/8/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

Last year's event was great and so was this one. Andretti KNOWS how to put on a show. This was my 3rd Indy race and I will be attending more. There was plenty to do over the course of the 3 day event. It was fun watching the ALMS cars run even if it was a bit confusing for a rookie viewer.

    GPofBaltimore was fantastic

by Anonymous on 9/8/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

Much better than last year - staff was more knowledgeable, friendlier, more helpful; signs and track maps were correct (unlike last year). Overall great management of the event this year made it so much more enjoyable. The placement of big screens added a big positive - giving us the ability to see and understand what was happening ont he rest fo the track - not just where we were sitting. The actual racing was great both years, but one hassle after another last year took away from the overall experience. Sure hope they are back next year.

    Ok but room for improvments

by DrunkDragon on 9/8/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

Nicly orginaized but need good live music for every one to enjoy. Also the indy car paddock should be open to public for free on friday. Overall it was well orginaized and had made some improvments over last year but there is still room for more improvments

Hope it becomes an annual event

by Conhugeco on 9/7/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

This is the second year that Indycar has come to Baltimore for a race. There was plenty of action on all three days of the event. Five series competed, including the premier Indycar and American LeMans Series, and each series had at least one practice, qualifying, and race session, so the track was rarely empty. The action was good, they kept to the schedule very well, and the overall organization of the event was excellent. There is nothing quite like seeing and hearing an Indycar thunder by at 180 mph on a street that is normally full of cabs, commuters, and crosswalkers. Is crosswalkers a word? Oh well, for purposes of alliteration it is now. It was nice to see little improvements from last year, which shows that someone is paying attention. For example, last year there was an awful bottleneck at one of the gates because the gate was directly adjacent to a pedestrian overpass that everyone had to cross to get inside the circuit. Essentially two potential bottlenecks immediately next to each other. This year the gate was moved a hundred yards or so away from the overpass and it made all the difference in the world. The weather was hot and oppressive for the second year in a row, so the event would be better if it was moved to a cooler time of year. I don't know if staging the event on a holiday weekend, Labor Day, had a positive or negative effect on attendance.

Pretty good, but not as fun as last year

by VACarGuy on 9/6/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

The races themselves were great. We enjoyed the event. Having fun with like minded racing fans uis great. Last year there was a concert in the fan that started at 8(?) and lasted for maybe two hours. It was great! We had so much fun with everyone around. It was a great night. This event was great but lacked the fan enthusiasm that made last year special. Maybe not profitable, but special.

    ALMS at Baltimore GP

by MDGeezer on 9/6/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

Very difficult to tell which cars are leading the race. Position lights on cars were not working. No postings of positions on TV screens during the race. Impossible to hear the PA announcements due to the noise. Much easier to watch on TV at home and save $100 a ticket.

    Expensive but worth the price

by ksmmusic on 9/5/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

Second year attending this event. Although one can save money by not buying a seat, I chose to buy a seat so that I could better enjoy the race. Races and other track events go on all day but other events to see and do within the grounds make the day nicely balanced. Looking forward to next year.

    Confusion at the races

by Vanwall on 9/5/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

Overall I thought the races and the organization went well. From what I experienced hte only thing that I think needs attention was exiting the race at the end. There was a very long line to exit at the end of the race. I would hate to think what it would have been like had there been an emergency. Perhaps extra gates in the fence that would be locked until the end. Covering up many of the through the fence viewing points must have made it very hard for walk around ticket holders. Finally it was very hard to follow what went on from the on screen commentary. At one point Sato was leading and then disappeared, why? Barichello was in third then he was eleventh and then he finished 5th (I think) why again? The commentary never said a word on this and many other things. Since you only ever see a small portion of the circuit commentary would be good.

    Very cool

by Ford1965 on 9/5/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

This is something every motorhead/gearhead should check out. It is really amazing seeing these cars fly around the streets of Baltimore. There is alot to do and see. There is a family fun arear that had a ferrous wheel for kids to ride. They did better this year with the foot traffic flow. My wife and I had a great time and will be back next year!

    B'more Indy GP

by dsc2bjn on 9/5/12Grand Prix of Baltimore - Baltimore

Loved the access to Mazda series and AMLS paddock and drivers. Being on the starting grid moments before the ALMS race and seeing/talking to the drivers and teams was amazing. Indy series take note. Other IRL venues provide greater fan access to the drivers....not B'more. Overall good experience, but paddock access worthless unless you can get closer to cars and drivers.
