by Very fine dancing by the Ukrainian Kyv Ballet Conpany on 12/26/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I found the story , choreography,. We energy of the dancers and music enjoyable.I would have preferred that a live orchestra perform the music However I realize that canned music or recorded music was necessary under the circumstances.

    Amateur-level production, appropriate for children

by Seattle reviewer on 12/26/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Recently attended a performance of Snow White by the Grand Kyiv Ballet at the Paramount in Seattle. Honestly, I was really disappointed by the show, especially with all the advertising (and even a pre-show announcement moments before the production started) stating how impressive the show is. The reality is that the Grand Kyiv’s production of Snow White is similar to a community theater production. From set design (garish lighting) to costumes (homemade or off-the-shelf costuming), the production falls short. Additionally, the dancing was inconsistent across the company. If you’re used to high caliber ballet performances, such as the Royal Opera, NYC, or Bolshoi, then the Grand Kyiv will not stack up. However, if you’re looking to introduce young kids to the ballet, the simple, fun storyline of Snow White might be a perfect way to spend a couple hours.

    Inspiring fortitude, uninspired performance

by Sneezy on 12/24/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Brave troupe, music and choreography was not good. I am glad I went, but can't say it was good ballet, sadly. Sneeze's sneezes were the highlight of the show! Also, The Paramount is not my favorite venue. Poor sound production which hasn't improved over the 20 years I've seen shows there. Accessibility is terrible for mobility impaired. Theatre staff were wonderfully nice and helpful.

This was the Kyiv Ballet troop!!!!!!

by Sandy on 12/24/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

This was a last minute request by my daughter to see this performance. It was outstanding in talent, fun, staging, voices. The performers brought the audience into the songs with clapping hands, and joyous laughter. The question is: why were there not more in attendance? This theatre should have been packed for the quality of talent and skill demonstrated on Thursday, Dec 21, 6pm.

    Spectacular

by SH on 12/24/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Great value, cost much less than expected. Performers, staging and costumes were beyond expectations. Performers were all excellent. Enjoyed the experience, was sad that they hadn’t sold more tickets, since the venue was at least 2/3 empty.

From outstanding performers to amazing set design and presentation, my wife and I loved the show. We would highly recommend it. And those seven dwarves…fantastic!

    Charming Show

by Jen on 12/23/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

This was a really cute and delightful performance. The audience was quite small for our show, which was a real shame. Maybe everyone wants to go to the Nutcracker instead or maybe the advertising wasn’t great. Tickets were reasonably priced. The male dancers were especially fantastic in this show- the huntsman, the prince, and particularly the dwarfs with their goofy but athletic dancing in clunky slipper boots.

    Amazingly Beautiful and Extravagant

by Conner on 11/22/23Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - Boise

The Grand Kyiv Ballet was absolutely amazing. I have been very impressed with our local professional ballet company. However, I did not realize there would be such a vast difference in skills. The Grand Kyiv Ballet was jumping higher, doing faster turns, and were in sync with each other so well. I was in awe the whole show.
