The State Fair Classic was great! The bands of course were awesome but PV was superb!

  • by Salindawa on 10/8/13Cotton Bowl - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

The game itself was boring due to lack of competition. Since the stadium was open air the battle of the bands lost punch in terms of hearing the bands...however their showmanship was excellent. The program and announcements throughout the pre-game and pretty much all day, were lacking production value. I think we can do better.

  • Despite the weather is was cool

    by redd7734 on 10/8/13Cotton Bowl - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

I was mad that it rained and was windy/cold outside this year and then had the nerve to be all sunny and pretty the next day. I enjoyed the game. I wish that the food wasnt so expensive and I dont know why the ticket price went up from 25 to 35 dollards this year. The turkey legs were disgusting, not cooked all the way, i wasted my money and threw it away to go get a funnel cake.

  • Great Grambling Game

by YolondaSmith on 10/24/11Eddie Robinson Stadium - GramblingRating: 4 out of 5

I enjoyed the game but I had problems(with the scanning of my ticket ) at the gate. I was very upset about that because I was charged extra and still had problems.

  • Great game!

The game was wonderful, going into overtime, 24 to 24. My team won with a field goal. The half time and post game entertainment was excellent too. To top it off, we had great weather and good seats. Plan to go again next year.

  • Rough weather, great game!

Tropical Storm Lee's pouring rains did not stop the game between Grambling & Alcorn from being terrific. Both teams (and fans) braved the bad weather and put on a great showdown. The score stayed close, the fans enthusiastic, and the teams played hard. In the end, Grambling was triumphant, winning 21 to 14. By the way, both bands delivered grand performances at half time.

  • Game was pretty good

    by ams045 on 9/28/10Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 3 out of 5

The lines to get in the game were extremely long and moving extra slow. Lines for ticket call were long and moving slow and ticketholders behind the counter were holding conversations with each other and ignoring ticket purchasers. My ticket was GSU willcall line when I clearly purchased it under Grambling, so I had to stand in both LONG willcall lines and wait unnecessary time.

  • Great event overall

by GammaRay on 9/18/10Port-City Classic - ShreveportRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great game overall. My wife, Son, and I had a great time. Being a Tech alumni of course I was glad of the outcome, although Tech missed some opportunities to score. The parking situation was the worst part. There was absolutely no assistance or direction. Exiting after the game we waited almost 1 1/2 hours getting out of the lot. You would think $10.00 per car would at least go toward some traffic control. The halftime GSU Band performance was okay, but I was expecting more from a band that has performed for the President, in Superbowls, commercials, etc.

  • grambling vs La tech

    by star571111111111 on 9/13/10Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 1 out of 5

Horrible, waited in line for tickests held @ will call for over 45 minutes. The people in will call were not organized at all. People could not find their seats and the ushers were no help at all. People stood in the aisle up to the third quarter blocking your view of the game because, their seats were taken.

The game was exciting and entertaining. Even though my team lost. Go Tigers!

It was a great historic event. We had a perfect spot for tailgating, although the prices for tailgaiting spaces was ridiculous. We reminisced about when we could go to the game and maybe pay $5 to get into the gate and choose your tailgate spot. There were too many stipulations on tailgating. All in all it was a great time to be had by all who attended. The entire day was a wonderful event.

  • A game in history!!

    by EnjoyLife09 on 9/7/10Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 4 out of 5

The game was a lots of fun. It was nice to see the teams play each other. Being a Tech Alumni, I enjoyed seeing old collegemates. I was impressed by Tech's Regal Blues danceline... being an old Regal Blues dancer. When I was at Tech, our dance included a lot of "highkicks". But I was very proud of the girls. They did a GREAT job. I was disappointed with GSU band. Or I was expecting too much. I sure hope they improve before coming to Dallas to play Prairie View and before the Bayou Classic to play Southern. The Independence Bowl could have done a better job with the parking and exiting the stadium. But overall... I had a lot of fun.....GO La. TECH!!!

  • GSU vs. La Tech

by glcarter on 9/7/10Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 4 out of 5

Really enjoyed the game! Should be an annual event! Only complaint was the stadium was a 'dead zone'. I could not make or receive calls or texts on my cell.

  • GSU vs La Tech, great event, tailgating was awesome

  • Game a winner

    by GSU111 on 9/6/10Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 5 out of 5

The sprite of both teams was wonderful and everyone on both sides left feeling like a winner!

  • by JackieMichele on 9/6/10Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 4 out of 5

I think assigned seating on bleachers are a hard task for anybody. General Admission for bleacher seats would be less confusing and cuts back on distraction on late comers having to step over you to get to the seat during the game.

  • NOT

Horrible game! Huge disappointment! If GRAM perform like this the rest of the season, I'm not going to very many games.

  • Inagural Port City Classic

by SaintEazy on 9/6/10Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 5 out of 5

I was born and raised in Shreveport. These are two schools names I grew up knowing. To see them get a chance to play against each other was great. The fans were great. We all tailgated together. Alumni, students, locals; and I think everybody had a good time. It was crowded so you had the regular crowd pains like traffic and getting to and from seats and the overall holiday crowd of the city but I loved it.
