    Pack your patience

by Smurfy16 on 11/1/16Eddie Robinson Stadium - Grambling

The concession lines were ridiculous, waited for close to an hour just to buy 6 water bottles. They had several different food vendors set up but those wait times were just as bad. One ran out of drinks and it was only the second quarter of the game. The game it self was fine.

Grambling football and band were really good

by EastexGM on 11/17/15Independence Stadium - Shreveport

We had wanted to see the Grambling band for many years. The tickets came with free admission to the Louisiana State Fair. $25, front row, 40 yd line.....Hard to beat!

GSU and UAPB showcased ftbl and phenomenal bands!

by AKA86 on 10/22/14Eddie Robinson Stadium - Grambling

Great to see wonderful passing, running, and tackling. Good fundamentals not a lot of "dumb" penalties. (I call the penalty dumb when the player doesn't display sportsmanship or common sense.) Got a chance to view a few on the field that will probably get a NFL opportunity. The powerhouse bands of both universities were spectacular. Musicality went to UAPB...the brass and percussion sections..wow! Showmanship goes to GSU as expected. "I thought u knew!"

    Great as always!!

by Tishanesha on 10/1/14Cotton Bowl - Dallas

Had so much fun at the state fair eating all the good fried foods and Fantasia rocked it in the Chevy main stage! The game was great Grambling won which was exciting because they hadn't won a game in 3 years! It was a little hot with the sun shining down on me but the game was fabulous.

Change the time of day/ Info from staffers lacking

by PVUFanParentSupporter on 10/1/14Cotton Bowl - Dallas

4 p.m. is in the heat of the day! What about a 10 a.m. game time? Otherwise loved the spirit, the game and THE BANDS! It would also be nice if the staff, security, police officers would have information with regard to what side the colleges have so that the visitors know where they would like to sit. Grambling and Prairie View both have gold/yellow in their colors. Some direction from the staffers would be nice.

Exciting game with additional band, dance and cheer leading entertainment during halftime and throughout the game. Live HBCU football games are the best!

    Great family event

by IQue on 9/30/14Cotton Bowl - Dallas

Exciting match up between two football programs. Great game, entertaining half-time show, and awesome audience engagement. What keeps me from rating the State Fair Classic as a five-star event is the disappointing fact that the police interrupted the HBCU tradition of a 5th Quarter. As the bands traded playi g songs, security and police forced the spectators to exit the Cotton Bowl. It was disrespectful and disappointing.

It is unique that a football game goes on while the fair is going on. I will be back in 2014.

Prairie View got that FYYAA!!! Except for the band

by Tishanesha on 10/16/13Cotton Bowl - Dallas

The game was ok you get to sit wherever you want and the game starts on time. Both teams suck pretty much but hey they half time show makes up for it along with the pre-game concert. Overall I dont know if it is quite worth the price but I did have fun!

The game itself was boring due to lack of competition. Since the stadium was open air the battle of the bands lost punch in terms of hearing the bands...however their showmanship was excellent. The program and announcements throughout the pre-game and pretty much all day, were lacking production value. I think we can do better.

Despite the weather is was cool

    by redd7734 on 10/8/13Cotton Bowl - Dallas

I was mad that it rained and was windy/cold outside this year and then had the nerve to be all sunny and pretty the next day. I enjoyed the game. I wish that the food wasnt so expensive and I dont know why the ticket price went up from 25 to 35 dollards this year. The turkey legs were disgusting, not cooked all the way, i wasted my money and threw it away to go get a funnel cake.

    Great Grambling Game

by YolondaSmith on 10/24/11Eddie Robinson Stadium - Grambling

I enjoyed the game but I had problems(with the scanning of my ticket ) at the gate. I was very upset about that because I was charged extra and still had problems.

    Great game!

by librarylady1 on 10/24/11Eddie Robinson Stadium - Grambling

The game was wonderful, going into overtime, 24 to 24. My team won with a field goal. The half time and post game entertainment was excellent too. To top it off, we had great weather and good seats. Plan to go again next year.

    Rough weather, great game!

    by librarylady1 on 9/5/11Independence Stadium - Shreveport

Tropical Storm Lee's pouring rains did not stop the game between Grambling & Alcorn from being terrific. Both teams (and fans) braved the bad weather and put on a great showdown. The score stayed close, the fans enthusiastic, and the teams played hard. In the end, Grambling was triumphant, winning 21 to 14. By the way, both bands delivered grand performances at half time.

    Game was pretty good

    by ams045 on 9/28/10Independence Stadium - Shreveport

The lines to get in the game were extremely long and moving extra slow. Lines for ticket call were long and moving slow and ticketholders behind the counter were holding conversations with each other and ignoring ticket purchasers. My ticket was GSU willcall line when I clearly purchased it under Grambling, so I had to stand in both LONG willcall lines and wait unnecessary time.
