    Goldfrapp was phenomenal.

by dustinmaberry on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

I will have to say, this venue does not have the best sound... It's not as strong and clear as I would have expected, however... I was in the front, so I may have had a skewed perspective. The performance itself, was incredible. Alison works her ass off. This group is so talented, Will and Alison, and the tour band. So theatrical. Really an outstanding show. Worth every penny. I wish this band would get more exposure, recognition, and respect.

I died and went to heaven. That is all. Although I wish she played a few more tracks, considering she's never in the US, I still died.

    Goldfrapp were explosive and gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by dmviolator on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

As always, Alison Goldfrapp sounded like angels should and the rest of the band did well enough to keep up with her energy. Overall, one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

    GOLDFRAPP!!!!

by hicksgospel on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

A pretty good opening act. They knew everyone was there to see Goldfrapp (Including them, so nobody felt bad). Goldfrapp was simply amazing. They kept us excited during the show, including 2 encores, although they may have been because of her 4 costume changes (Cool costumes by the way). They played for an hour and half but you could tell that everyone wanted more. So it was definitely worth the money. As for the venue, the sound was mediocre. I would have given the show one less star for that, but I wouldn't do that to Goldfrapp. :)

    Goldfrapp is awesome live.

by Dunnypop on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Goldfrapp is awesome live. Her voice is amazing. It's upsetting that the NYC crowd really doesn't do anything except stand there... but I'm sure other places will have a lively crowd.

Awesome! Terribly undersold, she should have played a smaller venue.

    Always Amazing

by actalkscheap on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

I have seen Goldfrapp 6 times now, and never been dissappointed. Alison knows how to command the stage, without saying much at all. She did a varied catalog of songs from all albums, but of course focused on Headfirst. Her outfits were gorgeous, without being too over-the -top. I will take Goldfrapp over Gaga any day!.

Great show all around, only a few criticisms. The opening band was mediocre at best (although they sounded like they had potential), and some members of the crowd were downright annoying. Bad luck on our part though.

    Decent show, AWFUL opening act

by hapislapigoldfrappi on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Goldfrapp puts on a good show. There isn't much in the way of audience communication, but that's really not what the crowd is there for. The fans are there for the sultry voice, the off-the-wall fashion and the rockin dance tunes by the techno chanteuse, Miss Alison Goldfrapp. And she delivers. It seems like she had a bit of problem with her in-ear monitor, especially in the first encore, but ultimately the sound was good and my friends and I were all impressed with the whole act. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing surprising, however--the orchestrations are basically the same as the albums. If you're expecting Lady Gaga, you're out of luck, but for what it was, it was a great night hearing great music. That said, the opening act was terrible.

    renewed my love for Goldfrapp

by tgoNYC on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Goldfrapp is a pretty amazing band. They are more amazing live. The live show bring out more of the song. I felt bad for Allison at certain point at the concert, the music or bass was too loud at a few point of the concert. It was still a pretty amazing experience.

Goldfrapp rocks and the sound does not

by RainingStars on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

The set list included all of Goldfrapp's hits, arranged in way consistent with their most recent album "Alive." However, Alison Goldfrapp's vocals were barely audible at times. The sound mix was pretty bad, actually. At times, the sound was just a blaring blast of noise that hurt. It's been 12 hours and my ears are ringing. I think they should have invested some money on a sound engineer working there with them.

    GOOD

I liked a lot the concert. I don't know why, see only played one song from the Seventh tree. The sound was not poweful enough.

    Goldfrapp the best ever!

by COPPERWHEAT on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Alison Goldfrapp, just put on her best show that I have ever seen. Lights, outfits and sound were incredible. Up beat glam/disco sound is their strongest.

    Music: A / Show: C-

by FrappFan on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Alison has never sounded better, had better stage presence, or connected with her audience more. However, production values were beyond embarrassing. Visually the show (set and lighting) were pretty amateur and nowhere near the calibre an artist like Goldfrapp deserves, and nowhere near what other performers at her level are touring with. I can only hope they get it together as the tour progresses.

    Lots of fun

by OhThatLaura on 6/24/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Goldfrapp is just great -- with costume changes, great tunes and a great stage show, last might was just awesome. Just wish that the floor crowd was more into having a dance party. I was ready!
