My roomate and I could hardly wait to see Allison Goldfrapp. There's not a song on her CD's we don't like, and her videos are awesome as well. The show was great, her voice is wonderful, very strong and clear. We would love to have come back to the Bay area again.
They played some of my all time favorites and i love the new album!
The show was a lot of fun. They played most all of my favorites, and the inclusion of not one, but TWO keytars on stage definitely added to the over-all experience.
Great show! Goldfrapp's performance was unbelievably tight and satisfying. Not only were many favorites from past albums performed, but almost the entire new album was as well.
Waited years to see Goldfrapp, missed the last two tours, sold out before I could get the heads up she was back in town. I still regret not catching the Supernature tour when Alison and crew were all glamed up. And even more regret for missing the tour supporting the underrated and phenomenal Seventh Tree album. But Alison in fine form, is Alison is fine form. With a backing band and recorded effects, Alison and crew put out song after song of pure Goldfrapp bliss. She loves her music, she loves her fans, and she loves performing them....and that is more than what most live fans get these days. Though Head First might not be the stand out in the Goldfrapp catalogue, seeing her live and feeling the songs at full throttle made me create a stronger connection to Goldrapp's last outing. In truth, after hearing a large selection of the Head First album performed live, I would recommend all to turn up the volume, turn up the bass, and re-visit what Alison and Gregory are offering in 2010. And if you get the chance - GO SEE GOLDFRAPP!
The Electronic duo known as Goldfrapp rocked the house at the Hammerstein Ballroom! I was lucky enough to be in the middle of the first row and met a great group of fellow Goldfrappers (that's how we fans refer to one another). At several times throughout the evening, it seemed as if Alison was looking directly at me. It was obvious that not only were the band engaged with the audience, but they made eye contact with many of us in the crowd. Speaking of the crowd, they were also really into it! It was an amazing feeling to sing along with Goldfrapp with a whole chorus of people behind me singing as well! Overall, the concert was phenomenal and I still get goosebumps when I think back to that evening!
Loved Venue and the show was one to remember!!! Costumes were excellent.. As good live as on CD
Awesome show with great sound, great lights, and lots of energy! Fun journey!
Alison Goldfrapp is amazing. Show was full of wonderful energy. Her outfits were killer and the silver doughnut prop malfunction fun. Such a great concert!
Second time I have seen Goldfrapp and really enjoyed the concert; much more electronic than the last tour; plenty of toe tapping! And while I love the Fox I am starting to wonder about the acoustics. I guess I have seen 15-20 bands there and anything remotely loud tends to sound muffled; the Goldfrapp sound was OK, but not great and the vocals and conversation between songs was very difficult to make out. Given how great her voice is. this is a crying shame. Last time she was here she played the Warfiled and despite the cold she told us she was suffering from, her vocals were much clearer
This wasn't the best Goldfrapp show. Didn't seem like they were really feeling the songs - more just like hitting up another spot on their tour. I will say that I wasn't the biggest fan of the most recent album so that may be in part why it wasn't very enjoyable for me. Will try to see Goldfrapp again though next time she is in town.
They were amazing! She looks and sounds fabulous! Crowd was so much fun! Fox theater is beautiful. Cocktail waitress was great.
Hands down, one of the best shows of 2010! If you like Goldfrapp you are a fool to miss this!
What an amazing show!!! Alison was so creative and sexy! Wish she can do more than one show so I can see her twice in a roll!
There is something to be said about still enjoying a show after it starts off kind of awkwardly with an overzealous smoke and wind machine and an intro track that doesn't present the artist very well. Sure, the crowd was buzzing with energy and completely psyched to see Ms. Goldfrapp strut her British stuff across the stage (as she did very well). However, one aspect threw me off the entire time - the sound. I don't know if it were the venue, the sound guy or what. However, everything was off balance. Not enough drums (the ultimate backbone of electronic dance music!), too much synth and of course the lead who we all came to see sounded like she had a mitten over her microphone. And all of it was too loud. This lasted the entire time and sounded just as horrible from each end of the venue. However, Goldfrapp kicked tail. The band was pretty badass and I don't think she hit more than 5 sour notes the entire night!
Alison opened up with Crystaline Green much to my delight. She did a lot of old stuff as you can see below from the setlist which I prefer. They all seemed to having a good time and Alison's voice was in top form ....she looked beautiful as well. For not having a whole lot of stage props like some groups, the lighting was powerful and and fog added to the intensity in her music. Love her ... recommend her any day!
i've wanted to see goldfrapp for years, this show was my first and last time. alison goldfrapp was So Rude to the roadie who tried to help a mishap on stage, it soured my whole experience. also, when i see people live, i like it to be something special, and this was not. i easily could have just put on my ipod.
A Crowd pleasing set, Goldfrapp really delivered at the Fox Theater. The venue was beautiful and they really worked the stage. Even with set malfunction, they were still able to proceed with the show without a hitch.
This was the 3rd time I've seen Goldfrapp and this show was seriously, incredibly, totally fuh-REAKIN' AWESOME. I don't want to be overzealous, but... everyone gave a gnarly performance, the costumes were sweet and there was a mishap with the stage prop!! I wish i could see this show at least 5 more times!! FYI.
