About

Godsmack were a big part of the late ’90s hard rock revival, and they’ve continued to lead the way for legacy rock acts with three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, 28 Top 10 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, three Grammy nominations and over 20 million albums sold worldwide. The quartet formed in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1995 and played their first shows in Boston bars before recording their 1997 independent album, All Wound Up…, which was later reworked as their quadruple-platinum, major label debut, Godsmack, in 1998. The band’s profile grew as they joined the Ozzfest tour in 1999 and 2000, dropped their sophomore album Awake on Halloween 2000 and earned their first two No. 1 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with the album’s title track and 2002’s “I Stand Alone” from The Scorpion King soundtrack. Ahead of the release of 2003’s Faceless, Godsmack assembled their long-standing core lineup of founding members Sully Erna and Robbie Merrill along with guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin. The album kicked off a three-album streak of Billboard 200 No. 1 debuts including 2006’s IV and 2010’s The Oracle. The band collected their second career platinum-certified single with “Bulletproof” off 2018’s When Legends Rise, which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2023, the band unveiled their eighth studio album, Lighting Up the Sky.

    Unbelieveable!

by Weather199 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

This concert was definately the best concert that I have ever been at!! Only thing I wish was different, they wouldn't allow body surfing. I got clobbered and I am still paying for it. I was watching Alice Cooper and someone body surfed right into me.

Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie were sick

by Rockstar84 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

The show kicked ass, Rob Zombie had an awesome stage set up was sick, and Alice was great live for his age and being able to rock it like that is sick as well. 3 Days Grace and Godsmack brought it, they rocked hard. Pappa Roach was amazing in person as well, and Hellyeah was great just like I saw them 3 years ago.

    Godsmack was INTENSE!

by KenmanOutlaw on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

The entire show was awsome. Even with any conditions that were not ideal, the entire event ROCKED. AND, I would do it all over again the same way.

    too many people....too crowded!!!

by hazeleyes123 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

I couldn't really enjoy myself because there was just way too many people at this concert! Just when you started to dance and get into the music, you would get shoved by people who was coming and going from the music. I couldn't enjoy the concert at all! Very disappointed! This was my last Lazerfest!

I have been to other rock shows and i have never seen the stages side by side.I wish lazer would have done there homework on how too deal with big crowds. I would suggest they never have the stages next to each other again.

    Best Lazerfest yet!

by sara0910 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

This year's event was well organized and hardly no delays in between bands which was amazing!!!! Band choices were top notch and I couldn't have been happier to be able to go. Never thought I'd have a chance to see Rob Zombie or Alice Cooper and I was able to see both at Lazerfest; definitely a dream come true! Thank you Lazer!!! Only negative was the traffic jam we got stuck in on the way, but that was to be expected. A word of advice to vendors for next year- whatever you ordered for this year double it for next year so we all don't starve and make the lines faster!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed an entire band's performance waiting in line to eat :( :(

I thought the bands they had there were awesome. The only thing that I didn't like was that I think they had too many people there for such a small place

    Great Bands

by Nodrinkanddrive on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

All the bands were great and put on amazing shows. Alice Cooper had some crazy acts as did Rob Zombie and made the night! I wish I could have stayed till the end of Godsmack but I was worried about getting out of the parking lot in less than two hours!

    One helluva good time!!

by Puppetz86 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

Considering I'm one of those snobby overachieving academic types with a special taste for heavy metal and rock, it was rather out of the ordinary that I sacrificed time for preparing for final exams to see some of the best acts in rock history. It was well worth making the trip from Davenport, IA to see them! One band was all it took to get me going--Godsmack--but all the other acts were also some sweet icing on the cake. I never thought Papa Roach could put on such a spectacular show. They knocked me flat on my ass, and I would absolutely consider getting their new album when it comes out. Oh, and dare I forget the godly presence of Alice Cooper whose music transcends generations! I really was glad to hear him play "Poison," one of my favorite rock songs of all time. And although I was not really all that familiar with Three Days Grace, I was familiar with their one song "Animal I Have Become," and did follow along with the crowd; but when Godsmack took the stage, I was blown away. I even hopped in to the mosh pit for a first. Everything was really fun, even though the shuttle bus situation was not well-coordinated, and we got a little rained on while waiting. The drunken old Santa Claus hobo man, who

Great show all bands were very good.I liked when some of the bands gave tributes to ronnie james dio. But getting in the venue was a screwed up mess.only 3 gates with about 5 security doing the pat down search i was in line for 2 hours just to get in and missed the first 2 bands

by Elben on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

All of the bands were amazing but Alice Cooper and Seether were to DIE FOR! Alice's showmanship has proven nothing less than pure artistry! 18 rocked! It was worth the cold and rain just to see him! Seether sounded so real and pure- awesome!

    An event of unmeasurable awesomeness!!

by TyTy135 on 5/17/10National Balloon Classic Launch Field - Indianola

This concert was probably the greatest one I have ever been to! Once you got in, the atmosphere was just incredible! Everyone was having a great time! The food was also incredible for taste and cost-wise. The bands were absolutely amazing and could be heard for miles! The bus service that shuttled people from the mall to the concert took a while to get people from the line to the concert. Also, once you got to the balloon field, there was a massive line waiting to get in! 2010 was the first year that Lazerfest sold out and I was honored to be a part of that! 25,000 people showed up to enjoy these amazing bands and I had the time of my life here!
