Godsmack were a big part of the late ’90s hard rock revival, and they’ve continued to lead the way for legacy rock acts with three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, 28 Top 10 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, three Grammy nominations and over 20 million albums sold worldwide. The quartet formed in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1995 and played their first shows in Boston bars before recording their 1997 independent album, All Wound Up…, which was later reworked as their quadruple-platinum, major label debut, Godsmack, in 1998. The band’s profile grew as they joined the Ozzfest tour in 1999 and 2000, dropped their sophomore album Awake on Halloween 2000 and earned their first two No. 1 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with the album’s title track and 2002’s “I Stand Alone” from The Scorpion King soundtrack. Ahead of the release of 2003’s Faceless, Godsmack assembled their long-standing core lineup of founding members Sully Erna and Robbie Merrill along with guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin. The album kicked off a three-album streak of Billboard 200 No. 1 debuts including 2006’s IV and 2010’s The Oracle. The band collected their second career platinum-certified single with “Bulletproof” off 2018’s When Legends Rise, which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2023, the band unveiled their eighth studio album, Lighting Up the Sky.

The line to purchase merchandise was super long. Maybe 2 merch tables next time. Godsmack put on a really good show. Loved the drum duel. Opening acts were good.

Impressed! I knew very little about Godsmack prior to the show. Apparently, I knew about 7 of the songs they played but if you asked me to name a Godsmack tune before they took the stage I could not. One of the best bands I have seen live, it sounds like they could be retiring though. Sully indicated it might be their last tour, they apparently have no concrete plans. The two drum set segment was awesome. I had heard about their charity Scars Foundation but had not connected it with the band prior to the show.
Flat Black, Nothingmore AND Godsmack were awesome! I will definitely see them all again! Not a bad seat at the PPl Center.
Great show! The band Nothing More was a great opener, definitely want to hear more from them. 3rd time seeing Godsmack and they get better every time! Loved how they interacted with audience. Mohegan is a great venue for shows, too. Can’t wait for the next one.
Godsmack never disappoints!! Even tho I had the best seat in the house, I was disappointed they had chairs setup on the floor…what??? It’s a rock concert!!!
Great "Back to the future"style video for the opening and showed all band members and crews on the backstage to the front! Loud and energetic til end! All good but just wished to have different song selections.
The Mohegan Sun Arena is a great venue. I have been to dozens of concerts there and they have tried to make it more organized getting in and out. The merch store was something new for me since my last show there but definitely a good idea. With Regards to the show the sound engineers just can't seem to get most opening acts dialed in. Flat Black was no different and the kick drum was vibrating the seat and you could barely hear the vocals. It was better for NothingMore and Godsmack. Its was a great farewell for those guys.
