Gloria: A Life on Tour

History. Her story. Our story.

GLORIA: A LIFE brings us a richly detailed tapestry about one of the most inspiring and remarkable women of our time. Five decades after Gloria Steinem began raising her voice for equality and championing those of others, her vision is as urgent as ever. Gloria's life's work and philosophy on the necessity of conversation as a catalyst for change offer us all a path forward in a way that only live theater can. The first act is her story; the second is our own.

Christine Lahti and her supporting cast depict scenes from Gloria's life in a deeply satisfying way. I was deeply moved by this play and participated in the talkback at the end. I highly recommend this play.

by susannewj on 11/2/18Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

Great talent and a good trip back to the 60s/70s. A great reflection on how this movement changed America and how the Me Too movement should pay attention and take cues from these amazing pioneers

    Therapy session

by aliceannapolis on 10/24/18Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

I loved reliving the women's movement through this play and hearing the stories people told at the end. Highly recommend young women who have not lived through this fight see how far we have come and how we still need to go forward- not backward as the current administration would have us do.

    Gloria is glorious!

by MicheleM88 on 10/23/18Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

I was treated to the Gloria show where Gloria Steinem was the guest for the "talking circle". The show stands alone as an inspiration to the growth of humanity. Christine Lahti was dynamite as Gloria and the rest of the cast were full of energy and talent as well! I was deeply moved by the show-tears shed at many moments. But also, I felt strength from the script, the energized delivery, the images projected on the overhead screens, and from the kind, thoughtful interactions with the audience.

A good review of Steinem & Feminism... Powerful.

by jeansp0 on 10/20/18Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

Christine Lahti became Gloria Steinem. I lived through every event and issue reviewed in this play. How I miss Bella Abzug and Shirley Chisolm! A great mix of media, ensemble cast playing various roles and classes of people. Welll cast. Well performed. Beautiful story. A powerful reminder of where we've come from, what we've been t hrough and what must continue. Highly recommend.

    Inspiring and Unusual

by Groucho123 on 10/20/18Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

You will learn things you didn't know from talented actress Christine Lahti, playing Steinem, even if you've lived her history. We need statues for so many unheralded black women heroes. Serious, funny, informative, enraging.

by samberg on 10/16/18Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

Christine Lahti absolutely channeled Steinem. For those of us who were present during the era of women coming through, this show is a must see. For those who were not, this show is a must see. Splendid cast and interesting venue that makes you feel as if you are really a part of the action.l

    A must see show!!

by CCJCG on 10/16/18Daryl Roth Theatre - New York

"Gloria/ A life" is a must see for women of all ages..those of us who marched and fought with Gloria for women's/ and intersectional rights, those who are too young to have fought then, but are continuing the struggle now and for men to understand and join forces to bring equality to all of us. Hope it goes uptown and then across the country!!! Christine Lahti embodied Gloria and the ensemble was brilliant! Wish the ""act 2" had been longer....or that there was a dedicated venue to continue the conversation!!!!
