About

Global Dance Festival Tickets

The Global Dance Festival isn't just the largest annual summer music event in the Rocky Mountain region — it's two days of utter EDM immersion in an environment tailor-made to support every vibe, pulse and drop served up by a diverse array of performers. While superstar producers and DJs like Deadmau5, Zedd and Tiësto are known to top the bill at the Broncos Stadium at Mile High in Denver, the five stages generally cater to different sounds, from bass blowouts to thumping house to alternative strains. Meanwhile, the other senses are stimulated via state-of-the-art stagecraft, roving circus performers, huge art installations, actual carnival rides and a food truck marketplace. Oh, and don't forget the silent disco, where revelers don headphones and pick one of three live-DJed channels to dance to. In 2019, the Global Dance Festival featured performances by rave regulars like Kaskade, ZHU, Galantis and Diplo, alongside revered old-schoolers like Green Velvet and buzzing newcomers like Black Caviar.

Global Dance Festival Background

The Global Dance Festival was born at Red Rocks in 2002 from the ashes of a beloved, but much smaller, event called Rave on the Rocks. Nestled within that eerie but beautiful natural setting, GDF was a glorious contrast of neon lasers and digital noise — a true destination for dance fans — and the festival helped earn Denver a respectable place within the EDM scene. All of that paved the way for a move in 2017 to Mile High, which sits at 5,280 feet above sea level and feels nearly as wide. The bigger venue allowed organizers to turn the Global Dance Festival into one massive playground for more costume-clad fans than ever before, with more performers, too. While they've experimented with hosting live bands like Empire of the Sun and rap acts like Gucci Mane, this weekender's strength is right there in the name: pulling together the best DJs and producers from across the wide world of electronic dance music.

    Benassi Invades K.C.

by BOakley on 7/17/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

Nice venue and sound system, decent lineup. Better lights and stronger lineup would make this event perfect.

    Saved The Best For Last

by Haybay on 7/17/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

Going to the Global Dance Festival I shouldn't have been surprised that the first four hours would just be DJs playing electronic music, which was boring. I was very relieved when Kid Cudi came on and actually sang / performed, followed by the goofy / wonderful Empire of the Sun. For me, the last two acts are what made the event worth it.

    My experience

by georgiiboi on 7/17/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

as always global was da ish. friday was overall the best day. the variety of music was better than the first day and last day. i wouldve given the festival 5 stars if thursday didnt have too my gaps of waiting time between bands, take out the pop, i wait til they want to throw a concert to go to, not global(avoid it) we are there for all forms of electronica. not some main stream pop artist. the year prior was top notch and the best lineups of artists for both days. saturday is too much of the same music, no variety.global is still worth going to its the ultimate stage of music period. ive done global 4 years straight and if i wouldve known how the days were going to break down i wouldve just went friday. my 4star rating comes from friday being way to awesome, they put the acts together right and they all complimented each other and made it hard to choose which stage to stay at. i got most excercise that day. See you all next year

    Skrillex and Nero were King

by Giers88 on 7/17/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

Honestly the show should have ended after Nero and Skrillex. Lmfao and Major Lazer were 2 major letdowns. I preferred the opening artists to those 2. Other than that it was a great night and i'm sure i'll go again next year!

Fun night, could have been better!

by GarethFan on 7/17/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

Gareth Emery rocked tonight... bad thing was that the venue's dj booth was all f'ed up and the music totally shut of once or twice when they were going from one DJ to another. Took like 15 minutes of live troubleshooting by the tech's to get Gareth's system all setup. If I remember correctly Benny had some problems too; and Datsik had to come up onto the mic and talk to the crowd while the tech's did more troubleshooting. Pretty embarassing if you ask me. Hopefully they won't have these problems any more because we hardly get any EDM acts here in KC as it is!

Nero and Skrillex Should have headlined!

by Anonymous on 7/17/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

The event overall was amazing until the end. Major Lazer and LMFAO should not have been the closing acts, more a less they should have been during the day as party music to get everybody pumped for the main dubstep show almost all were waiting for. Manu. Superstars Nero and Skrillex were perfect. Along with many other small artists on the other stages throwing it down just as hard.

Pushing Electronic Music to the Next Level

by Vagabonder on 7/17/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

This was my first Global show and I was so impressed I will go every year that I can. It is so awesome seeing electronic music in America really take flight. It's been so huge in Europe and Asia over the last 20 years and Thursday night at Global America was representing big time. With most of the bands being from the US, I feel proud to say that the US has some major talent and are shaping the way electronic music is evolving. Amazing show. Nero, Skrillex and Major Lazer rocked it so hard I've been nodding my head in my sleep for the last two nights. I've been a fan of Nero and Major Lazer for a while now, but Skrillex really impressed me the most. Can't wait to see what else he comes up with in the future.

    the venue was amazing!

by aeio on 7/17/11The Midland by AMC - Kansas City

this was my first rave, concert, gathering of large people that i have ever attended. with that said it was one of the most amazing experiences of my short life thus far. the midland was a brilliant place to house this event, it was like walking through a giant work of art while listening to amazing music and being around people who were happy to be there. the vibes were great everyone was happy and everyone was willing to maintain that happiness. i have recommended to everyone to go to as many dances as possible but i also tell them that none will be like my first.
