Global Dance Festival Tickets

The Global Dance Festival isn't just the largest annual summer music event in the Rocky Mountain region — it's two days of utter EDM immersion in an environment tailor-made to support every vibe, pulse and drop served up by a diverse array of performers. While superstar producers and DJs like Deadmau5, Zedd and Tiësto are known to top the bill at the Broncos Stadium at Mile High in Denver, the five stages generally cater to different sounds, from bass blowouts to thumping house to alternative strains. Meanwhile, the other senses are stimulated via state-of-the-art stagecraft, roving circus performers, huge art installations, actual carnival rides and a food truck marketplace. Oh, and don't forget the silent disco, where revelers don headphones and pick one of three live-DJed channels to dance to. In 2019, the Global Dance Festival featured performances by rave regulars like Kaskade, ZHU, Galantis and Diplo, alongside revered old-schoolers like Green Velvet and buzzing newcomers like Black Caviar.

Global Dance Festival Background

The Global Dance Festival was born at Red Rocks in 2002 from the ashes of a beloved, but much smaller, event called Rave on the Rocks. Nestled within that eerie but beautiful natural setting, GDF was a glorious contrast of neon lasers and digital noise — a true destination for dance fans — and the festival helped earn Denver a respectable place within the EDM scene. All of that paved the way for a move in 2017 to Mile High, which sits at 5,280 feet above sea level and feels nearly as wide. The bigger venue allowed organizers to turn the Global Dance Festival into one massive playground for more costume-clad fans than ever before, with more performers, too. While they've experimented with hosting live bands like Empire of the Sun and rap acts like Gucci Mane, this weekender's strength is right there in the name: pulling together the best DJs and producers from across the wide world of electronic dance music.

    Mediocre

by culturedj on 7/18/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

Trajick and Dragon were disappointing as usual, no progression in their set and played peak hour tracks when it was definitely not peak hour. Ecotek and Dave Audé were decent, better with the progression of music, but the real treat was watching AVICII and Gareth Emery. Benni Bennasi was whatever. Overall it was a decent show and probably the closest thing to a California massive that you could get here in Colorado.

    BEST TIME EVER

by pisceshanna on 7/18/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

What's better than dancing for 8 hours straight and have the rain come pouring down just when you are so hot you are about to faint? Thank you Red Rocks and Gareth Emery! So Amazing. I have post-Global Dance letdown :(

    Always a great show!!

by DJCOLA on 7/18/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

I can only speak for Saturday night, but Global Dance Fest has ALWAYS been one of the best shows of the year. There is something about Red Rocks that is magical. One awesome thing this year was fireworks going off somewhere near Lakewood. The moon rise sss pretty cool as well. I didn't see any fights, which is always good. I think that it helps out to have different nights for different crowds. The one downside I see from this year was ending with Benny Benassi. He should have played on Friday night or earlier on Saturday. If it is a trance night, end out with trance.

    Benny is a GENIUS

by coborn on 7/18/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

My first Global experience. It definitely exceeded my expectations - each artist was unique, but all played well to the crowd. Benny left everyone with their jaws wide open and wanting more. I'll definitely be there next year!

all the DJ's were great except for Benny Benassi. He wasnt impressive like last year. He shouldnt of gotten the main spot. Gareth Emery should of been the main attraction. we left at 130am because of benny benassi's "okay" set.

Great night. Great time. I don't understand why LMFAO was a headliner, but nonetheless it was a great time.

    Pricey but worth it.

by Suze12345 on 7/18/11Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

I missed out on Global last year and after hearing the line-up I definitely didn't want to miss it all again this year. The big draw for me was the line-up on Thursday. Unfortunately, given that this awesome line-up was scheduled for Thursday, I missed Big Gigantic (boo work!). However, I was fortunate enough to see both Kid Cudi and Empire of the Sun. Cudi rocked it out, but his most impressive moments were when he sang three songs right in a row with no pauses or interludes. The moment he played continuously the whole vibe of the crowd completely changed. I think we all could have listened to him perform all night at that rate. The most impressive for me was Empire of the Sun. Their theatrics, live performance and energy was something to behold. My only regret is that given the mix of the headliners and the fact that it was on a Thursday; I don't think the crowd was nearly as hyped as Empire was and I'm ashamed to say I don't think the Red Rocks crowd gave them the attention or love that they absolutely deserved. I know they don't tour as often being from overseas, so I feel extremely fortunate to have seen them live. Here's hoping they come back in the more near future!
