The Constant Preaching was A LOT

by Kat on 9/30/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

The Global VIP tickets were SOOOO far back you could barely see anything. Definitely not worth $250. The screens were set up so you couldn't really see anything because they were blocked by speakers. There was at least 20 min of talking between each set while everyone was standing in the pouring rain and maybe 40 min at the very beginning. Since it was pouring rain there was mud everywhere so a lot of people couldn't walk around without falling or almost falling. The food vendors were not good at all. The only reason I gave 2 stars was for the great performers

    Nothing to be excited about.

by Greg on 9/30/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

The line up was great and all performed well. The line to get in took 90 minutes which is not really excusable. There was a lot of talking but not a lot was said. It was not very solutions oriented but rather just “yes we can” for 20 min between each artist. There was also nothing warm on offer which was a missed opportunity given it was raining the entire event and the park was waterlogged.

    once in a lifetime experience!

by be on 9/29/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

Was spending 7+ hours outside in a tropical storm miserable? Yes. But was it worth it to see dedicated activists and talented performers and especially the amazing 3RACHA and Jungkook? YES. 10/10 would do it again.

    Great despite the rain

by Alexandra on 9/29/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

This was my first time going to Global Citizen, and I really enjoyed it! There was a lot of staff and most were easygoing and helpful, going in was pretty simple despite the huge crowd, and the festival itself was really enjoyable. It sucks that it rained constantly obviously but that was nobody's fault, and I think everybody really made the most out of a bad situation and had a good time overall!

    Rainy, Wet, but worth it.

by Bang Chans Wife on 9/29/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

We were in ADA which was great however, we couldn't see the side screen because of the large tree and at our angle the large circle screen on stage was hard to see. I utilized my Samsung Galaxy to get a good enough view. Again, worth it to see Stray Kids/ 3Racha. The exit was a little bit of a nightmare, I don't know if ADA had their own exit because I had lost my water bottle and went to get another and it was a sea of people shuffling to get out. Like I said, I'd do it all over again. I felt safe, and the staff was great and seemed to enjoy it too.

    :((

by Angel on 9/28/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

Paid for my ticket(Global VIP section) and GA had a better view! Was happy to be there but after waiting hours in the rain I was disappointed that I couldn’t actually see my fav performers perform because of a giant staircase(?) being directly in front of us and my section being so far back

    Wild

by Noooo on 9/28/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

If u put on a festival RAIN OR SHINE. Then you need to be prepared for the rain. No ponchos or anything hot besides food. No hot water no hot packs for ur hands. Also you shoudl have let the foreign acts use their native language for the ‘speeches’.

    Great atmosphere

by Angie on 9/28/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

The atmosphere was great even though it was pouring with rain and chilly. I went with my daughter it was a birthday treat for her so I brought the Global VIP tickets hoping that we would be quite close to the stage. We had traveled from the UK specially for her to see Conan Gray and Stray Kids, who ended up being 3 Racha. We did enjoy their performances very much, our disappointment was where we were positioned, especially as VIP ticket holders, we were quite away from the stage and the screen that was near us was covered with speakers so we really didn’t get to experience the performances at their best. It’s a shame that the VIP tickets were set into different groups as the Ultimate VIP section had quite a big gap between them and us Global VIP section, if we hadn’t been segregated that much then our section would have been closer therefore it would have been worth paying for VIP tickets. As I said from the beginning, the atmosphere was great, just disappointed about the positioning.

    Amazing festival

by Sher on 9/28/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

The festival was super fun. The first time I have seen 3racha and Jungkook. It was so amazing and I would do it again. However, the cold and rain combination led to some muddy ground and overall sickliness. So, the event should have been postponed, but I am glad I got to go!

    Acts were great!

by Amy on 9/28/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

The acts were amazing, I loved them. What I didn't love is that there was no rain date and that there was no easy way to see the stage unless you were tall or really, really close. I should not have to have my cellphone out and camera on pointed at the stage to see the performers and speakers. In addition as the night went on there should have been shorter segments many/most of us had been standing all day and our attention span may have wained a bit. The tech crew was pretty on point and the way the utilized the speakers was handled masterfully. Wouldn't have noticed them getting the stage ready between acts if I didn't look for it. The sound personel also top notch, I could hear the wonderful articulation from each artist hard to do in an outside venue. I want to shout out 3Racha from Stray Kids specifically for putting together a fantastic show on such short notice. Not only did they kill it but they did so while they were probably worried about the members that were in an accident. Despite my complaints I would definitely not have changed going to see it.

    It Was An Event

by Ash on 9/28/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

It didn't seem very well organized. It was difficult to find the lines, there was a lack of signs and information with the people working at the event. No one seemed to know where to send us. The printed tickets were an issue for a lot of people due to the rain. The celebs who came out to speak to the crowd felt very out of touch. They kept mentioning how we were all out in the rain. But they were totally dry and WE were out in the rain. The QR code issue because of the speakers being low and covering the screens. We couldn't see from the screens at all. The speakers were in the middle of every screen. While I appreciate trying to get people to take actions and demand change around the world, it felt like we were being talked down to. They kept saying how WE could take 2 minute showers and change our lives, while the facts have shown that the 1% is who is the problem. I know a lot of other people felt the same, like we were being talked down to, and being talked to by people who aren't even in the same tax bracket as us who attended. It was not relatable. Also why were you trying to feed us salads in the pouring rain? The whole day felt very off with how poor the planning was. We couldn't get straight answers from anyone we talked to.

    Won't be going again

by Last time on 9/28/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

While they can't control the weather, they so poorly planned the entry that being in line by 1pm we didn't get in the venue until 530. They funnels 3 different lines into 1 ticket and security check point. What was the point of 3 lines other than making the regular ticket holders walk over a mile from the entry to the park to the actual venue moving at a snail pace. 3 lines should have each had their own ticket and security point that THEN funneled into 1 line to make things smoother and get the lines cleared before the start of the event. Not to mention they then CLOSED the front of GA for "capacity"no where was it stated that GA had sections that could be closed only that the vip sections would be sectioned off. All 4 side screens at the front had speakers in front of them rendering them useless for most people not in the front GA section. You had to move even further away from the stage to clearly see a screen that was placed in the middle of the venue. The workers for the event also had no idea where to guide the ticket holders we and another person I know were separately sent in the completely wrong direction resulting in an extra 2 mile walk. Trying to leave the event was almost as bad trying to enter with a bottle neck causing a 20 minute hold up.

    Not as expected

by Vv on 9/28/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

Extremely unorganized event. Saw people cut through lines and getting in without tickets, while people who were in line for hours get in later. It was raining throughout the whole day unfortunately, and nowhere to stay day for a few minutes. Saw people falling and getting hurt due to the amount of mud that was on the ground. Really unfair to not have the event postponed because of the rain. Bathrooms were soaking wet, and absolutely dirty. Food was so overpriced for such a small portion. Overall the music was good, except for the speakers that went off a few times, which makes it harder to hear if you’re in the back.

    GCF WAS SO COOL!

by Karen G on 9/27/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

The entire concert was great! It’s a shame it was raining all day, but it was awesome being able to see so many different artists in one night. Security could’ve been better, it was horribly managed.

    Global Citizens Festival Review

by Val on 9/27/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

It was an amazing first concert. I loved the different vibes of each artist, and I especially loved Conan Gray. Rain or Shine, I showed up and it was definitely worth it.

    Best event of my life

by djwolff on 9/27/23The Great Lawn at Central Park - New York

I am not exaggerating when I say this, but Global Citizen Festival was truly one for the books for me. Almost all my all-time favorite artists on one stage is more than I could ever ask for. I do think that given the situation with the weather in NYC, the organizers/the ones in charge should have let us in before 2pm. It was pouring and we would have all probably organized better inside the venue.
