  • Fantastic musicianship!

    by Greta S. on 5/31/24Rating: 5 out of 5

We experienced the Glenn Miller Orchestra last night at the historic Saenger Theatre in Mobile, Alabama. Every member of the group was world-class, from the music director to the instrumentalists and the wonderful singer. The authentic interpretations of both popular and lesser known offerings from the Glenn Miller songbook were beautifully performed by this ensemble. The music is jazzy and upbeat, and lives on through this talented organization. Can’t wait for this group to return to the Gulf Coast!

  • nice sound

The 14 piece orchestra was smaller than I imagined but the songs and sound were good. It only lasted about one hour fourty minutes. It could have lasted a little longer and just been "better"for the over an hour traffic nightmare traveled to attend. It was a good concert but "somehow"did not live up to my expectations. I, personally, would not travel that far to hear it again.

Band was exceptional. Vocalist did a good job. Only regret is that performance was too short. Only about 70 minutes

Have always loved the music of the Big Bands, a bygone era of my parent’s world.

  • Glen Miller; WOW!

by Bucky on 5/15/24Center Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts - SkokieRating: 5 out of 5

We listen to Singers & Swing on Comcast every day when we play cribbage They play a lot of this type of music which is our favorite. As a former Arthur Murray teacher, this is my favorite music. When they did an encore last Sunday of 'In The Mood', I could hardly sit still. The entire orchestra was made up of incredible musicians. The host had a beautiful vocal range & played an amazing saxophone. Each member had a solo & all were wonderful. We would see them again anytime.

  • Great time for the fans of swing music!

by Todd V on 4/19/24Flagstar Strand Theatre for the Performing Arts - PontiacRating: 4 out of 5

This outfit plays all the tunes you (or your grandparent) remember. Decent singing, big enough band to fill the place, and nice story telling. There's a lot of little solos, so be ready to do intermittent clapping throughout the show. They also play some lesser known tunes which I actually enjoyed as much as the hits. As the music continues you start to get a sense of what it was like to go out dancing to a big band 60 or 70 years ago, and it's a neat feeling. You'll enjoy.

Great show from a group of professional musicians playing the music of our parents’ generation. The narration was welcome and helpful. Amazed to find out they play around 200 shows a year all over the place. Thanks everyone responsible for this event.

  • Awesome Experience

by Shelby Bill on 4/17/24Flagstar Strand Theatre for the Performing Arts - PontiacRating: 5 out of 5

I debated going alone since my wife lives in a nursing facility. I’m glad I went because it was such a terrific experience. I was fortunate enough to get good seats around row D, middle. As an 83 year old senior, I practically grew up on big band music. I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the show and the Strand Theater. It was perfect for this intimate experience. Kudos to the director and the members of the orchestra. You made my night.

So rich and moving! The only thing that might have made it better would have been being able to dance.

  • Fun time!

by Deb on 4/17/24Flagstar Strand Theatre for the Performing Arts - PontiacRating: 5 out of 5

Lovely, very talented folks that are clearly working very hard and having a LOT of fun. If there had been a dance floor, I’d have pulled hubs out there and joined in. They deserve to fill great big venues.
