Great rock from one of the best. Hughes was flawless with the energy of a teenager. His band was high energy and didn’t disappoint.
He defies time with his voice and plays bass like the seasoned veteran he is. Amazing to finally see him live. I won’t ever miss him if he is in town. Amazing band also. Thanks for the experience!!
Awesome show in Atlanta. Remember seeing Deep Purple with Tommy Bolin and David Coverdale at Radio City Music Hall January 23, 1976.
AMAZING show, Looked to be about 400 people in crowd, roughly 1/2 house capacity. Glenn Hughes career is unmatched, though obviously his popularity in America is not at the level it should be, the albums he cowrote w/Deep Purple are watershed moments for Glenn & the band, his set was to highlight this era of Glenn's work, & boy did it. His voice & band were in top form, the set list adjusted from last year with Highway star & Hush (2 non Hughes era Deep Purple songs removed) Disappointed w/the fact there was no merchandise sold at this show, another disappointment for over 20 fans that purchased the VIP meet & greet was the abrupt ending & overall disorganization of the meet & greet, Glenn spent 15 minutes talking with 5 fans, then the tour manager told everyone we had to "wrap it up" At which point it was everyone scrambling to get a picture with Glenn & 1 item signed. Overall fans were happy to see Glenn in Atlanta, throughout show he hinted to his time as an Atlanta resident, saying he was a bad boy.
The world is Glenn Hughes' background singers. He brought it all. Full power. Jammin' bass, as well. The set stayed true to the originals and even to the original live versions at times. I'd been waiting for so long. Finally the full rock concert from Glenn. Classic Deep Purple to boot. Please come back
Great concert. Amazing sound, and great venue - see my review of The Wilbur under the venue's reviews.
From the moment he walked onto the stage until he finally said his last goodbye for now, Glenn Hughes gave a performance that shows what a real rockstar is all about. I’m so glad this tour has been extended; can’t wait to catch him again.
Glen still has great pipes and can belt out the Deep Purple tunes just like the old days. Great show, if you are a fan of deep purple don't miss this one.
I have never listened to much Deep Purple (other than the obvious songs) and didn't know what to expect here. I was blown away. This was hard core classic rock concert, verging on speed metal. Glenn Hughes has got to be between 60-70 years old and he can still shred. And the other guitarist was amazing as well. I continue to love the Wilbur as a venue. It is small and intimate and the acoustics are just great.
Absolutely awesome! Waited 45 years for this! I was 17 when MK III ended. It was the end of the greatest real rock band of all time! That egomaniac Gillan refused to acknowledge MK III. So DP has never played one song from the 3 albums
This was the first time i was at a seated event at the house of blues it was quite intamate we enjoyed it very much only complaint it was a little shorter than usual.
Glenn and band were on fire! He can still scream those high notes, and he is a fabulous performer
Great to hear those Mark 3 & 4 songs again, Glenn was in fine form, don't miss this show
Hughes at 67 can go toe to toe with rockers 30 years younger When he announced his becoming a US citizen I,who have a son in the usmc, was thrilled and proud of him Rock on
This dude and his backing band came out and rocked like it was 1975. His voice and range at his age is up there with anyone. Great show, great songs, it was overall a great performance!
killer show! will go again. seats were great. Glenn has still got it!!
Incredible performance, truly the best show I’ve seen in years. Glenn just nailed it in Cleveland and the band was “getting tighter” with every note. Looking forward to a “Trapeze” re visit down the road I pray!
I love Penn's Peak - I make the trip from East Rutherford, NJ, at least 3 or 4 times a year. Top Notch entertainment at a top notch venue. The sound is always awesome, and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Glenn did just about everything that I wanted to hear - there is ALWAYS a song or two, that I wished EVERY artist did - ha :) I got some great shots - I was sitting in the 6th row on the right side ... but I still need to go through them.
This was a very good and powerful show - the man is probably in his upper 60's or early 70's and still has one of the greatest vocal skills ever. A very soulful and loving man with amazing talent on the bass and from the throat. Playing vintage classic Deep Purple from the Mach II, Mach III & IV era lineups. A truly talented man and his band members just as well. Glenn could have squeezed in an extra 2 songs into the his set if he did less talking but seeing him do his 11 songs was an opportunity of a lifetime. Any person who loves DP music and is from that era in time should not miss this show.
Really like Deep Purple, but not a huge fan that would recognize all their lesser known music. However Glenn and his mates really sounded very good. Enjoyed the show especially the guitarist Jeff Kollman!
