GLEN HANSARD IN CONCERT:

Singer-songwriter Glen Hansard has dabbled in many musical projects throughout his career, but he's finally stepping out on his own as a solo artist for a slew of 2014 tour dates. Since his early days as the lead singer of The Frames, Hansard has become a major influence in the Dublin rock scene with his impeccable songwriting and folk spirit. In performance, the Irishman delights audiences with his calm demeanor, gritty vocal style, and beat-up Takamine acoustic guitar, which he's dubbed "The Horse."  Whether he's covering a Bob Marley tune or passionately singing his hit "Falling Slowly," Glen Hansard's compelling performances will have fans on the edge of their seat at his 2014 shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

At 13, Glen Hansard left school to devote time to busking on the streets of Dublin and eventually earned his salt in 1990 when he formed the Frames, gaining a cult following with a string of critically acclaimed albums. Sixteen years later he formed The Swell Season with Czech singer Marketa Irglova, earning widespread success with  romantic ballad "Falling Slowly." He's also had an illustrious career as an actor, playing the role of a musician in the films Once and The Commitments, but has always returned to his first love: music. Glen Hansard graces the stage once more to share his passion for performance on his 2014 tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Glen Hansard is an incredibly talented musician.  I've never seen a performer so interactive, sincere, funny, and passionate as Glen."

"This was hands down the best show I"ve ever been to! He was amazing!!!"

"This was my first time seeing Glen and will definitely not be my last. Glen left it all on the stage; he held us spellbound!"

  • My FAVORITE

    by GlenHead9 on 7/17/25Rating: 5 out of 5

I have seen him now at least 9 times.. once in Ireland . His voice just does something to me.. his lyrics and musicianship.. just great ! I describe him to people as an Irish Bruce Springsteen. The Frames, The Swell Season .. his collaborations with Eddie Vedder .. BRILLIANT! Go watch the movie Once from 2007 .. what do you got to lose ? I pray you come to love him as much as I do .

  • What a night! We came from Brazil just to see you = )

by Cinthia n Rafael on 10/11/24The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

We came from Brazil just to see you! That's the abstract of our love. What a night, what a concert, what a show! My husband, Rafael, and I are Brazilians living in Brazil and we have already been to the US just to see Glen Hansard in concert once. This is the second time we have traveled to see him and it is worth every effort. Glen is an impressive and so powerful musician and his concert manages to surpass even more. The sound quality, the lighting game, and the excitement of the entire band is surreal and captivating! We will go see him as many times as possible and we con't wait the opportunity for him to come to Brazil = )

  • He is an absolute best

by Sally on 10/10/24The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Best shows I've been to, so much energy, drive, real life music!

  • Another electric Glen Hansard performance!

by Carla on 10/6/24The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Glen Hansard never disappoints. He was fabulous as usual, playing some of his oldies and some new songs. He’s wonderfully uplifting, entertaining and even after seeing him 4-5 times, his music still moves you more than most!

  • A powerful evening

by Nick S on 10/6/24The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Glen is a true artist, and the power of his music mirrored the obvious power of his emotions. On top of a bunch of amazing songs, told great stories and even recited some poetry (but in a completely unpretentious way.) A true delight!

  • Absolutely fantastic!

Glen is for sure a show you must go to at least once in your life. What an incredible experience, it brings you back to life. Definitely one of the best acts I’ve seen

Glen and the band were at 110% from the moment they stepped on stage to the moment they left. Inspiring. Kinda my new favorite punk rock show.

It was an amazing concert. However, we should have been on the floor. The sound in the balcony was not so good.

  • A true storyteller lyrically and musically.

by Ken on 9/23/249:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This is the third time I have seen Glen. I had some misgivings about the concert as the new album was ever so slightly different from his others. He and the band did not disappoint however nor did the new tracks (Of course he played a few of the old standards). He is a true storyteller and the passion he has for his craft and for engaging the audience is remarkable. The 930 venue was great for Glen and he had us singing along. Not as harmonious as in years past but an excellent musical evening. We had a great time. No doubt we will see him again on his next US tour.
