About

Girls Night: The Musical has earned rave reviews playing packed houses throughout the United Kingdom since 2003.  It premiered in the US in May 2007 and has toured across the country since then.  It has been described as "'Desperate Housewives' meets Mamma Mia!" (Applause Magazine), "a boisterous, bust-out, bawdy musical revue" (Wisconsin State Journal),  "An infectious, exhilarating sense of intoxication!" (Hollywood Reporter) and "As funny and outrageous as Sex and the City!" (The Advocate).

Hilarious and touching, Girls Night: The Musical follows five friends in their 30s and 40s during a wild and outrageous girls night out at a karaoke bar.  Friends since their teens, they have all had their fair share of heartache and tragedy, joy and success.  Among the characters are Carol the party girl, blunt Anita who tells it like it is, Liza with her marital (and eating) issues, boring Kate the designated driver and Sharon, the not-so-angelic angel who just couldn't resist tagging along.  Together, they reminisce about their younger days, celebrate their current lives and look to the future, all the while belting out an array of classic anthems such as "It's Raining Men," "I Will Survive," "Lady Marmalade," "Man I Feel Like a Woman," and "Girls Just Want to Have Fun."

    Horrendous

by Cindy S on 6/13/22The Cabot - Beverly

I dont know if this was the C team cast or what but the show was simply terrible. Not funny, bad singing, bad acting. We lasted a half hour before it wasn’t even worth the $40 tickets to stay. Embarrassing. We weren’t the first to walk out and I’m sure we weren’t the last.

Not such a great girl’s night

by D. S. on 10/13/19Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

The seats I chose were first row balcony HOWEVER It didn’t mention that there was a half wall higher than the seats so we had to sit on the edge of the seat throughout the show and stretch our necks to see the stage. As far as the show itself I felt like I was at a high school play. Main character kept messing up her lines, acoustic’s were terrible so it was hard to understand what was being said. Story line was pointless and really not that funny. With that being said the singing was good

    Amazing voices low production

by Coll on 10/13/19Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

The girls had amazing voices and are very talented. The story line itself was a bit odd and the play itself was very low budget with not real stage decor. But it was a fun night with good music.

    Fun Afternoon

by R. F. on 2/27/19Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Terry Theater - Jacksonville

Loved the music! The story was a little weak, & my friend and I both were of the opinion that the ladies were holding back, almost trying to save their voices for the evening show (we went to the matinee). But all over, not disappointed!

    Girls night out

by Merlu on 3/11/18Shubert Theatre - New Haven

It was so hard to hear the actresses. Sound system was not good I was 2nd row and could not understand what they were saying. I think it could have been more happy than dealing with death sadness Actresses did perform well

    Average Girls Night Out

by DaisyJane5 on 2/27/18Shubert Theatre - New Haven

I felt The synopsis of the show was good, it just didn't flow well. it was not clear at first, that the mother was dead (an angel) at her daughter's baby shower at the bar (the daughter was not even in the picture for a long time)and the stories and the song they lead into didn't mesh very well. There were some powerful singing voices on stage. The group of girls I was with, of varying ages, all pretty much agree, it was OK. Venue rating 4 / show rating 2

    Misleading

by Henriettasmith on 2/26/18Shubert Theatre - New Haven

I brought a group of friends in their 60’s thinking the show was about the music of the 70’s and 80’s. Instead it was raunchy, disrespectful. The cast was talented but it was not at all what we expected. The audience was rude yelling and standing making it difficult to even watch. Many audience members were helped out intoxicated. Not the quality show I expected from the Shubert.

    Rather amateurish

by Penelope007 on 3/16/16Lexington Opera House - Lexington

I really hate to give a bad review. But I was so excited to see this show ... and so disappointed. It was more silly than funny. And amateurish. Definitely not worth the $45 price of tickets. If I had paid $20, I might have felt better about the level of performance. I bought 3 tickets and invited guests... and it was rather embarrassing. It just wasn't what I expected - not the level of all other professional shows I have seen. Not worth the price. Very disappointed.

    High school quality production

by Jennysa on 3/16/16Lexington Opera House - Lexington

This show was a big disappointment. The entire production felt like a high school quality production with some raunchy, tacky R-rated humor sprinkled throughout. A couple seated in front of my group actually got up and left in the first half.

    Girl's Night Out was awesome!

by Cappy2 on 2/2/16Pensacola Saenger Theatre - Pensacola

This show was so funny, and we laughed the whole time. Dialogue was funny, the music went with the script and added so much to the story. I have never laughed so much in my life. I would recommend this to any woman who has the chance to see it. I would love to see it again. Hope it will come out on a DVD so I can watch it as many times as I want to.

    Girls Night was Depressing

by ClareBear01 on 2/2/16Pensacola Saenger Theatre - Pensacola

I was so excited to be going to this event with an old friend that I hadn't seen in a long time. Having seen the Musical, "Menopause" I just knew this one would be equally funny. Instead, I found this one to be depressing. I am not a prude by any means, however you have a 16 year old who gets pregnant by her friend's boyfriend & dies at 17. I am a lady who had my first child at 17, so I could relate. However, the storyline was so depressing. I did laugh a few times, the singers were pleasant even with the sound issues that happened a few times. I think maybe I just looked to forward to the event? I hate being negative, just being honest with my opinion... If I had of seen this musical first- I would have never gone to see Menopause.
