Ghost Brothers of Darkland County was entertaining

by Brewgirl on 10/16/13U.S. Cellular Center Asheville - Asheville

The performers, music and story were entertaining. However, I was disappointed at the ending -- it was a bit cheesy and seemed to take away from the true story.

Its a SK book come to life

by GSportBar on 10/16/13U.S. Cellular Center Asheville - Asheville

It's a real good SK short story that comes to life right before your eyes. You see the finger prints from King, Melloncamp & T-Bone.

    Check It Out

by OneLove on 10/14/13Thomas Wolfe Center - Asheville

Unexpected but totally King. Music was great, John Mellencamp and T Bone Burnett did an excellent job putting music to a Stephen King story. Although a little hard to follow it was entertaining enough to keep me interested. With bare bones scenery the story, cast and music had to carry the show and it did. I was pleasantly surprised by the versatility of the cast. I also think the fact that this is a moving show every show is a one night stand makes it an accomplishment in itself. Even if you are skeptical see it. You will definitely want to talk about what you experienced musically, theatrically and on some sort of human emotional level.

    Disapointing

by Nuickname on 10/13/13Indiana University Auditorium - Bloomington

The format of the play was not as expected. I had expected a stage play with sets and actors playing parts as in a movie, just on stage. I could have accepted the format, but the first act was boring, except for an occasional bit of humor. Also the use of profanity was very offensive and uncalled for. I am not a prude but have always considered that a person uses profanity because they don't have the intelligence for a better word. Perhaps that was Mr. King's intention for his character's but I feel he could have accomplished the same emotions with less offinsive words. The second act did redeem the play somewhat in that I became caught up in the story, which was pure Stephen King, with an unexpected ending. I must admit I attended the play mostly because I had hoped to at least see Mr King make a appearance at the end.
