About

Getter In Concert

Getter will get as deep as his bass levels are capable — and then he'll throw a totally different sound at you when you least expect it. The DJ and producer has carved his own niche in the ever-expanding world of EDM by fusing elements of dubstep, trap, and bass into a brutal, window-shattering mix. He continues to evolve that sound at a rapid pace.

Getter is the stage name of Tanner Petulla, born in 1993 in San Jose, California. As a teenager, Petulla played in a few metal bands, as a drummer and guitarist, but it wasn't until he started experimenting with electronic music at home that he realized his true passion. In high school, he began creating his own tracks and uploading them — along with remixes of Far East Movement and Timbaland — to his SoundCloud page. These recordings gained attention fast and helped give him a bigger platform when small dubstep labels like Ultragore Recordings and Tuff Love Dubs released his first EPs.

By the time he was 17, Petulla was already DJing under the name Getter around the U.S. In 2012, he signed to Firepower Records, founded by one of his first big supporters, Canadian DJ Datsik. Three years later, he moved on to Skrillex's OWSLA label, which released EPs like ‘Radical Dude!' and ‘Wat the Frick,' both of which landed near the top of the U.S. Dance charts.

Since then, he's been in constant transformation, experimenting with his sound; remixing other artists (like Jack U, Major Lazer, and DJ Snake); producing and performing hip-hop under the name Terror Reid; and even launching his own record label, clothing brand, and artist collective called Shred Collective in 2017.

Even with all this going on, Petulla is constantly on the road, appearing at both intimate gigs and music festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival. In September 2018, he released his long-awaited debut album, ‘Visceral,' on Deadmau5's label mau5trap.

Great show, sucks they didn't have the AC on though. 🥹

by Jmn on 7/25/22The Depot - Salt Lake City

This was by far one of the best EDM shows I've been to in quite a while, though the venue was amazing and super fun... It would have been amazing if the air conditioning was on for the entirety of the event.

    Show started late

by Lorea on 9/7/21Big Night Live - Boston

Getter was great, but the doors open at 11, and it was dead inside. There was no DJ playing until like 12 o clock. They barely even had music on. They had none on at first, then like 30 minutes in, played some quietly in the background. Even once Getter came on, there was barely anyone there. I usually see it packed in there. VIP was empty. Also, they need better lights, more in the back, more angles, and get some dang lazers. Overall $25 for a 1.5 hour show was pretty disappointing. Not a huge fan of this venue.

    Great Show

    by E. A. on 8/6/21

I saw Getter at Breakaway Festival 2017 and seeing as he is one of my favorite artists of all time I felt really honored to be able to see him. Getter is a really talented artist and if you’re a fan of electronic music you will not be disappointed. His show was really well put together.

    All over the map

    by T. M. on 2/2/20

So this dude was the mid-ticket act between Black Gummy and DeadMau5. Started out hardstyle, then grimy trap, then a bit of chill, then I dunno... modem noises?? Absolutely mis-cast supporting DeadMau5... would be better opening for Excision... but Excision would highlight how not cohesive and miscellaneous his act is. Maybe a bad night???

    Could’ve been fun but...

by mememami on 11/3/17Echostage - Washington

Could’ve been awesome if Getter came on earlier. His openers played as long or longer than he did. Doors were at 9 and he didn’t even come on until freaking 1-1:30 am. It was still a Tuesday & it was noticeably emptier by the time he came out, prob because people became restless. For a not so big DJ like Getter, why am I listening to openers for 3/4 of the show? I got bored, tired, and restless. Next time don’t make the fans wait 4 hours for you to come out & no one will have to ask “y’all still alive out there?”

The event was moved from the electric factory to this very small venue. It ended super early and generally my least favorite show. Would’ve been much better at electric factory.
