About

With four No. 1 albums in just a few short years, Regional Mexico singer Gerardo Ortiz has ridden a tremendous wave of success to become the contemporary “king of corrido,” the style of narrative ballad popular in Norteño music. Ortiz’s blend of traditional and modern elements and his popularity among young Norteño fans led to a virtual sweep of the 2011 Billboard Mexican Music Awards, earning him six honors including New Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year. With the 2012 release of El Primer Ministro, Ortiz once again topped the Latin Albums chart, adding to his collection of hits with accordion-laced ballads about love and loss like “Mañana Voy a Conquistarla” and “Solo Vine a Despedirme.” Ortiz rose to overnight success in 2010 with the release of his major label debut Ni Hoy Ni Mañana, which landed in the Top 5 of the Latin Albums chart and received a Grammy nomination for Best Norteño Album. Ortiz followed up with several chart-topping live albums and his second studio album Entre Dios y el Diablo, which peaked at No. 1 on the Latin Albums chart and included the hit single “Cara A La Muerte.” On tour in 2013, Ortiz has received rave review from ticket buyers for his rousing live concerts, leaving little doubt that a bright future awaits the young singer.

The concert was truly unforgettable!!!! The lights and sound were perfect!!! Security was very well organized and the drinks available were great. The only thing that I wished was available was a section for pictures with the band and autographs:(

3ball Monterrey was cool, their dancers weren't all that well choreographed but a good show, on the other hand Julion Alvarez had us all crazy, amazing performance!!! And Gerardo Ortiz mas more about his corridos, we left about 2-3 songs after he started. Had a good time over all.

Concert had great performers, but the speakers where going off and you weren't able to hear the singer and in other times you where able to hear them to much where they sounded horrible. If the setting was better organize this would of being an amazing concert.

Tierra Cali, el trono and Banda MS were great however I can't say the same about Gerardo Ortiz. It was hard to understand I'm guessing their was an issue with the MICrophone Larry Hernandez puts up a show great time... But Banda MS and Gerardo Ortiz were hard to understand :(

The concert was great the seats were very good had a great view of the entire concert.

  • Event organization terrible

by itsuckedbad on 2/18/14Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los AngelesRating: 2 out of 5

I paid $150 plus tax per person for this event because I bought VIP tickets expecting to have chairs in rows like if it was a concert. It didn't! It was the worst! I paid so much money to be standing like sardines. The only thing that made it "VIP" was that we were close to the stage. The performers were great but the organization of the event sucked. The tickets said we had row something and seat 49 and 50, there was NO SEATS!

  • The worst concert/dance ever!

by Snazzygirl on 2/18/14Los Angeles Sports Arena - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

Definitely not worth the money! The event was totally unorganized! No one knew where to go since it was not a general admission event. Everyone was confused! Definitely the worst experience ever!

  • by Anonymous on 4/30/13San Jose McEnery Convention Center - San JoseRating: 4 out of 5

I HAD SO MUCH FUN! THE PERFORMANCES WERE AMAZING AND THEY HAD A VARIETY OF DRINKS OFFERED!

  • It wasn't what I was expecting.

by Zorrilla on 4/29/13San Jose McEnery Convention Center - San JoseRating: 1 out of 5

The concert was not what I was hoping for. I was very excited to see the artist el komander and he never showed up. It is very disappointing because it was not worth the to tickets we paid for

  • Banda Los Recoditos the best of the night!!

by JessicaH19 on 4/29/13San Jose McEnery Convention Center - San JoseRating: 4 out of 5

Todos los que fueron a tocar dieron lo que pudieron al maximo. La unica cosa que tengo que decir es que Gerardo Ortiz casi no se escucho tan bien en vivo.
